The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that after unbuckling her front driver side seat belt and standing outside of the vehicle, she reached over to grab her purse. The contact seatbelt had not fully retracted as she reached over for the purse and as a result, the seat belt's latch plate hit the contact in her abdomen. After the failure occurred, the seat belt no longer fastened. The contact sustained pain to the abdomen for a couple days and sought medical treatment at an urgent care facility. The contact was informed by a doctor that she had suffered a hematoma to her abdomen and was informed that the soreness would last approximately 4-6 weeks. The contact initially reached out to her auto insurance who then referred her to a dealer or the manufacturer. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where she was informed that there were no recalls and was given an estimate for the repair. The contact then reached out to an independent mechanic who linked the contact's failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V459000 (Electrical System). The contact then brought a print out of the recall campaign to another dealer where she was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I am submitting this complaint on behalf of the vehicle owner. On March 31, 2025 (136,962 miles), the vehicle was brought to Fred Anderson Nissan of [XXX] for Voluntary Emission Recall PD128 (NTB24-061), which required a new Particulate Matter Sensor and ECM reprogramming. One day later, the Check Engine Light illuminated. On April 2, 2025 (137,083 miles), the dealer diagnosed code P2002-00 (DPF Efficiency Below Specs). Repair Order #XXX states: "The new sensor that is now monitoring DPF is able to see this and is setting the code as designed." The dealer's own documentation confirms the fault code was triggered by the recall — not a pre-existing failure. The vehicle had no warning lights before the recall was performed. Nissan Consumer Affairs (Case #XXX) declined goodwill assistance citing mileage, without addressing the documented causal link between the recall and the fault code. The owner now faces a DPF replacement costing several thousand dollars as a direct result of complying with a manufacturer recall. Safety concern: A DPF in confirmed fault condition can trigger unexpected limp mode, including at highway speeds. If other PD128 recipients are experiencing the same recall-induced fault and cannot absorb the repair cost, those vehicles may be operating in a compromised condition. We request NHTSA investigate whether Recall PD128 is creating safety and repair liability for consumers who complied in good faith. Regarding the 2024 Titan roof, the rain cutters seem to have seam bonding and no weather stripping. The seam sealant only goes 3/4 of the way along rain cutters on the roof. This is leaving a pocket where water collects and starts to rust. Nissan should repair this under it corrosion warranty . It’s also causing an issue with the windshield where the seam sealant or bonding material is coming apart and leaking into the windshield where rust could form. This is a know issue per some service techs.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH over a ramp in the road, there was a loud banging sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. Later, while depressing the brake pedal, there was a scraping sound coming from the front passenger’s side wheel, and the vehicle started jerking and vibrating and failed to properly stop the vehicle. The vehicle was eventually taken to the local Pep Boys, who determined that the front passenger’s side brake caliper bolt was missing from the brake caliper and informed the contact that the brake caliper needed to be replaced. The brake caliper was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side wheel was damaged due to the failure and needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000.

Truck died while traveling at 60MPH, once safely pulled over saw it shutdown due to low oil pressure. Checked the oil level and found correct level on dipstick. Attempted to start, no start. Towed to shop, they drained the oil and verified correct oil quantity cam out. Pulled the oil pan and found metal in the oil pan. Told I need a replacement engine. Engine has 95k miles with proper maintenance performed per the owners manual.

"(NHTSA Recall 22V-681): Affects 2020 - 2023 Titan ...trucks, Where the vehicle may not stay in park, increasing crash risk. Owners are advised to use the parking brake every time they park'" I brought my Nissan Titan to Wallace Nissan in Stuart, Florida because I have had the Titan roll down my driveway when the parking pawl did not engage. I pulled into my driveway and placed the vehicle in park. As I checked to make certain I had necessary paperwork for an appointment I had with the Veterans Administration, the vehicle rolled back almost into the road. I was looking down at my paperwork; my wife noticed the vehicle rolling. On another occasion, the vehicle was put in park, so I could run into the house. The vehicle rolled back and the door bumped into me. Now, I make certain to use the parking-brake, but this is a major safety issue. I looked the issue up and found the NHTSA information above in a Google Search. I scheduled an appointment at 10:30 a.m. on 2/18/2026. When I arrived I was issued a claim check XXX by a Wallace Nissan Service Technician, and was told I would have to pay to have this recall issue fixed and I would have to leave the Titan Pickup for the repair. Strangely, a manufacturing quality problem requires the vehicle to be left for an undetermined time, and no loaner vehicle is provided by the manufacturer while they make the recall repair. The engine just shut off. I was in traffic moving up to a light and the vehicle just shut down. The second time when I was exiting the freeway got to the yield sign and the vehicle just shut down. The third time was turning left and the vehicle just shut down. the fourth time I was in traffic that was coming to a stop and the vehicle shut down. 5th time I was turning slow rate and the vehicle shut off. 6th and 7th time were in stop and go traffic as it was decelerating. The 8th time coming up to a stop sign and the vehicle shut off. I took the vehicle to Nissan 2 different locations and since there are no codes they can't duplicate the error. My fear is what happens if this shuts down at speed. There was no warning, no rough idle or anything significant. The vehicle has been looked at two different Nissan Dealership without being able to confirm or reproduce the problem. The worst factor is the fear my wife has about the vehicle just shutting off.

Wow Towing very little weight on flat grade. The crankshaft broke. I was told that this was a problem with this particular vehicle, not marrying the transmission and the diesel Cummins engine up correctly. This vehicle has been sitting for over two years because of this issue the cost to repair is twice with the vehicle is worth.

- #11712189January 20, 2026FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP:CONTROL/DRIVE MODULE, ENGINE
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while refueling, there was an engine run-on after the vehicle was turned off. The contact determined there was a vapor lock issue and that air was entering the fuel system. The vehicle was difficult to start. There was an abnormal clicking sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. Upon research, the contact determined that the failure was like TSB: NTB19-049. The contact used a scanner and determined the failure was related to the fuel pump module. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were on back order. The contact called another local dealer, Victory Nissan Parts Center (307 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37211); who confirmed that parts were backordered for approximately 6 to 8 months. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

Brakes - sitting at the used car dealership since 8.8.2025. The truck will not stop when the brakes are applied. If the vehicle does not stop when brakes are applied. Lives are at risk if they are hit or ran over. Inspected by a Nissan dealership, invoices are available. The Brake Booster is no longer manufactured by Nissan. No repair is available. Unknown. No accidents have occurred due to this, we are in fear of our safety to drive it. The Sales manager at the dealership disconnected the ABS. We purchased this vehicle on 6.23.2025. The Brakes were not working within driving this vehicle for less than 3 weeks. We have made a formal complaint to the dealership. Taken it to a certified Nissan Dealer. The dealership we purchased this truck from has ignored every request we have made. We hired an attorney here in St. George, UT. The dealership has not replied to our Attorney. This Vehicle is NOT SAFE to be driven on the roads. We would like to know what the safety measures are in place for a USED vehicle dealership to sell an AS-IS-VEHICLE. Please see that I have attached all of our documentation we have provided to the State of Utah, our Attorney and to the Motor Vehicle Division of the State of Utah. A persons safety in their vehicle is a must.

At about 120,000 miles, my transmission started searching for gears shattering going in limp mode while in drive and then ultimately dying while on the highway. Also, my leaf springs are completely loose. You can just pull them out when you have the truck up on the lift.

I was driving down the freeway on cruise, when all of a sudden, the vehicle started vibrating and shaking violently. This happened in the middle of a downpour, and the tires broke loose momentarily, but I was able to gain control, and safely pull on to the shoulder. After searching the internet, this incident sounds very much like a broken crankshaft,as described in the many, many reports of this type of failure, especialy in the 2016 model years, like mine.

I had a check engine light for catalytic converter bank 1. Added a cleaner to see if that would help - instructions mention run 1 - 2 tanks of gas after adding, so I did that, it took a while since I dont use the truck as often. The light did not clear so I was planning on bringing it in. I was on the highway and the check engine light starting flashing and power loss occurred. I limped off the highway and got it towed. It had 3 codes on check engine light. Other than the check engine light, no warnings, messages, nor symptoms appeared or occurred prior to the flashing check engine light. Got to Mastria Nissan, they looked at it for not long (morning) and said the engine and other components were junk. Presented a $27,000 bill. They did not tear it down nor illustrate what went wrong. Police nor insurance inspected the truck. Safety was compromised as it died on the highway where everyone was doing 70 plus. Had to limp off the highway as the pull off area was very busy and not spacious whatsoever. Truck has 28,000 miles on it and was planning on the 6th oil change. The first 2 were done at Nissan and I changed the oil myself other times. Drained oil had an appropriate volume. No oil has ever leaked. I have order history on oil and have the last oil change oil in my garage still. I filed a claim with Nissan corporate, I have emails with them, but i got a denial over phone on January 5th. They claimed they dont have enough service history and im 6 months out of warranty. Also, on the call, they refused to send the denial by email or regular mail.

The vehicle has recurring starting issues. The battery frequently becomes weak or completely unable to start, sometimes without warning. The issue occurs intermittently and appears electrical in nature. The vehicle may require jump starts or fails to start after sitting or after driving. This raises concern for an electrical or charging system defect. Battery has been replaced 4 times in the past 5 years. Jumped and charged numerous times in between.
