POWER TRAIN
Purchased a used 2004 Nissan titan truck with lower miles. Rear axel exploded and burst into flames when driving down the freeway. (Bowling Green, Kentucky) We managed to pull off to the side of the freeway without hitting anyone. Fire dept was able to put the flames out. Didn't find any recalls about the Truck when we bought it. Now I have seen reports on line that this has happened to other consumers. Something needs to be done to warn consumers. We could have died. We could of hit others and killed them as well. Dealership has completed repairs and seen the defect. We have the damaged part. There were no prior warnings. Vehicle was inspected before the road trip to insure it was safe.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 MPH, several unknown warning lights started to illuminate off and on. The contact then stated that while the vehicle was in the idle position, the RPMS revved, increased, and decreased continuously. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical harness needed to be replaced. The battery and accelerator pedal was replaced. However, the dealer declined to repair the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V495000 (Electrical System) though the VIN was included, and stated that the harness tampered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

I the last 6 months the truck has the TCM replaced after leaving me stranded on the side of the road. prior to completely going out the two dealers that looked at the truck said there was nothing wrong. the truck has had to be towed in three times to clear the transmission because it thinks it in park. This does not include the multilabel times of having to pulling off the road to shut the truck to reset the transmission. The high pressure fuel pump has gone out then five weeks later the low pressure fuel pump went out. Now a week later the IPDM went out.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger's side front air bag warning light illuminated. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V459000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

I placed my 2018 truck in park and left it running. Once I had retrieved my items from the truck, I stepped onto the running board and pushed the button to turn the truck off. It suddenly lunged forward, throwing me to the driveway. The truck proceeded to roll down my driveway, rolling over my foot, and across the street; hitting my neighbor's van. I sustained multiple injuries from being thrown to the driveway, my truck's front end was severely damaged, and my neighbor's van sustained damages. I feel all of this happened due to the recall of the 2020-2021 Nissan Titan for a roll away issue. I am out of pocket for deductibles to get my truck repaired and had to use my insurance to pay the claim for my truck and the damaged van. I feel this all due to a defect in the 2018 Nissan Titan Crew Max, that is evident in the recall of the 2021-2022 Nissan Titan.

engine multiple oil leaks - other owners have same problem, verified with TitanTalk (on line blog site) ** R.O. revealed Front Timing cover & upper oil pan leaking. Repaired under warranty at local Nissan dealership no cost to owner.

The turbo actuator failed twice. I have yet to replace it a second time hoping there would be a recall. I spoke with two dealers and they tell me it is a common problem on Nissan titans with a Cummins engine. The check engine comes on and then the truck goes into limp mode. It does not want to go past 5 -10 mph. It goes away after the truck is turned off for 15 minutes. Then after a week or two it comes back. If I do not turn it off for 15 minutes the truck turns itself off.

The vehicle will not move between lower level gears and will not accelerate when it is stuck. The vehicle will rev up very high but not switch gears even if you dig all the way in on the gas pedal. In fact, if you do that the engine makes a chirping noise. This defect prevented me from accelerating through an intersection and I nearly got hit by oncoming traffic. We have taken it to the Nissan dealership 3 times and they have said this is normal for this type of truck. We are taking this to an independent service center for a second opinion.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated upon releasing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle shifted into second gear. The contact continually released the accelerator pedal until the vehicle was able to drive 50 MPH and operated as intended. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred while driving. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,850.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank was empty. The contact refueled the vehicle and the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving even though the fuel gauge displayed that there was a quarter tank of fuel remaining. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Noticed electrical burning smell outside the previous day but could not find the source. In the morning found that the front, passenger door had caught fire and smoldered all night long burning to a crisp. Not sure the cause. The truck was last driven on Friday and sat all weekend until the problem was discovered Monday morning. The truck still runs and as far as I can tell everything except the speaker in the door is working and the passenger power seat which was also slightly burnt.

Unknown - while driving my vehicle several warning lights started popping up all at onces the lights on the dash where glitching. Then all the power to my dash an possibly other parts of vehicle lost connection. Vehicle wouldn't even show speed or what gear I was in. While I was driving with 2 small children in the truck. I immediately pulled over. I have since taken my vehicle to a dealership where it's been for a couple weeks. They where unable to give me an exact diagnosis so my warranty won't cover repairs yet. I now have to tow my vehicle 96 miles to a different dealership in hopes of getting it fixed. My 2017 truck will not even start now!!

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that since AT&T disconnected the 3-G service from his vehicle, the center display that warned of vehicle safety issues such as service brakes, radiator, transmission and oil pressure malfunction was no longer operating as designed. Additionally, the contact stated that the warning light would not illuminate on the instrument panel and would only be displayed on the center display that was no longer operating as designed. The contact also stated that the SOS button that would allow him to call for assistance in the event of a crash was no longer operable. The contact stated that he was afraid that the removal of AT&T 3G service from his vehicle caused a risk to his safety. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as AT&T was responsible of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

ENGINE
The truck loses power and drops to 3000 rpm. When it gets to 3000 rpm the trucks shakes as the rpms jump from 3000 to 3500 rpm. I have videos that site will not allow upload of.
