My son and I were driving home and my 2022 Nissan rogue SV suddenly began making extremely loud banging and knocking sounds in the engine bay. We were traveling approximately 40 mph and did not hit any bumps. The following morning the vehicle was towed to the dealership for inspection and we were told that day that the engine would need to be replaced. While we did not get too many specifics from the dealership regarding the exact cause, it was related to some bearings of some sort and causing what is called rod knock. The vehicle remain at the dealership until a new engine , or new engine parts, could be delivered. Nissan's warranty covered the cost of the repairs since the vehicle only had roughly 15,000 miles on it when the incident occurred. I have not had the vehicle inspected by a third party to confirm that the entire engine was replaced or if only certain parts were. One of the technicians at the dealership mentioned that they had seen or heard whispers about several reports of this particular issue, which is part of why they were able to diagnose it so quickly, but couldn't confirm the exact cause of that engines failure. Prior to the engine failing, there were no warning lights or indicators present in the vehicle. The vehicle has received regularly scheduled maintenance at this dealership since it's purchase. This incident occurred on December 2nd, 2023. I took a video the night of the incident of the vehicle and the knocking sounds it was making , but I can't upload it via this incident report, so let me know if you would like it and I will send it another way.

My car stopped working at the middle of the freeway, luckily I was going downhill. Just like everyone else it may be a transmission issue, as I pressed the gas the far would not moved. I kept shifting gear and it feels like it’s stuck, I can reverse but only for a little bit but once I press the gas it doesn’t go anywhere.

My cvt transmission is bad. It's apparently a problem with a lot of 2012 Nissan rogues. When I drive, if I stop at a stop light, when the light turns green I hit the gas pedal and the car doesn't move.

IN first or second year of ownership the car spontaneously braked on 2 occasions. Both times after going over road damage. - I had no damage and thought related to rd condition, did not report. About 2 weeks ago Chassis warning came on momentarily then malfunction error came on but went off for rest of day. Next day Malfunction Error for AEB system came on again AND HAS REMAINED ON. I had trusted independent auto body shop computer person run scanner evaluation. some 30 items lit up but 2 didnt clear suggesting possible wire harness. On line many customers noted difficulty finding the right dealer or repair shop the first time , often going to several before problem corrected, Nissan says all dealerships are independent and wont recommend one. Consumers talk about possible recall pending for 2017,18,19 Rogue. mine is 2019. I want to go to most expert for this concern -should it be a collision expert or general dealer repair for this safety concern. Thank you

I recently was notified that my vehicle has a factory recall for the jackknife key. So I brought it to my local Nissan dealership and they said they would fix the recall. After checking out my key and car the dealership said I would have to buy a brand new key which was around $300 dollars. The key is only 3 months old because I changed out the old key because the recall caused the old key to malfunction and not start up the car. They're solution was to put a spacer in the key to fix the recall but then said my car wouldn't turn on if they put in spacer to fix recall. My problem is why would i have to purchase something that is being recalled, also if it's a factory recall that would mean it has to be fixed as part of a federal law. Also, the reason for both keys malfunctioning is because of the recall in the first place. It seems the dealership is trying to get out of fixing this problem and they just want me to buy a new key to fix the issue instead of taking care of it, when it was the manufacturer's fault in the first place. The Nissan dealership is Destination Nissan located at 770 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206, is there anything that can be done so they fix this issue? I also reached out to Nissan national help line, but they couldn't do anything but reach out to the dealership and ask what happened with no solution. They ended up not fixing the recall or anything on my vehicle and I currently have both keys that are malfunctioning because of Manufacturer Recall Number: R22C9 and NHTSA Recall Number 23V-093. But now I am at risk of key malfunctioning while driving and turning the car off and could cause possible crash, injury or worse. I don't understand how they can do this because under federal law they would need to fix any problems caused by this recall. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. - #11572692February 19, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving in a parking structure, at around 15-20 MPH, the automatic emergency braking went on and brought the vehicle to an unsafe stop. Luckily no one was right behind the vehicle. The automatic emergency brake light came on at the same time. This is a safety hazzard in that the system can just engage without cause. In the parking structure, there is a chance of being reaer-ended and hurt. If this happened on a highway or at a faster speed, injury or death could occur. I have seen online that there have been concerns about this happening in this model Rogue. i will be communicating with the Nissan company also.

I've had issues since I purchased my Rogue (11/4/2020) with the AEB automatically stopping my Rogue when there is no obstacle in the way. It is mainly with the rear AEB, but has happened a few times with the front AEB.

Bought a new 2023 Nissan Rogue last week with 8 miles on it. Drove the vehicle on a 12 hour trip. Filled up the gas tank and gasoline smells were terrible inside the vehicle. Went on the internet to research this and found there are many who have this problem and Nissan is doing NOTHING to fix it. To make matters worse, it appears that John Deery Motors, Cedar Falls, Iowa just committed "Consumer Fraud"..........they knew that this problem existed and they continue to sell the vehicles WITHOUT telling the consumer.

This has been a big safety issue for my wife and 10 month old daughter. Randomly while driving on highway or in residential roads, our 2023 nissan rogue will start revving hard. The rpm shoots up to around 5000 and the engine starts to lose power resulting in rapid de-acceleration. As of recent, my wife would have to restart the car to go back to normal functioning mode. This also almost caused her accidents on multiple occasions. We contacted Nissan, opened a case, and they refused to repurchase it or replace it. We are stuck with this car hoping nothing bad happens.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side seat made an abnormal sound and inadvertently moved while making a turn. The contact stated that she weighed 130 pounds and that the front driver's seat frame had previously been replaced due to a fracture; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front driver's side seat frame was tightened; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that the front driver's side seat frame was fractured and needed to be replaced for the second time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
