INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary safety recall campaign on certain specific model year 2004-2012 Armada, 2004-2012 Titan, and 2004-2009 Quest vehicles, to inspect and if necessary, replace the driver Air Bag Cover. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification numbers PC944, PC946, PC947 and PC949 to this campaign. The vehicle specific number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer’s responsibility to check Service COMM or Dealer Business Systems (DBS) National Service History for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed. This bulletin has been amended. To avoid the risk of death or severe personal injury, do not directly spray Silicone-based lubricant or grease, or inadvertently overspray Silicone-based lubricant or grease onto any interior electrical components. These types of lubricants can be detrimental to the proper operation of electrical components.

Summary12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The new service part (B in Figure 1) is visually different, but is a direct replacement for the original equipment part. IMPORTANT: See page 2 for the procedure to inspect the cap bolt service part for excessive stretch. If replacement of a single connecting rod cap bolt is indicated for any given connecting rod, both connecting rod cap bolts of the affected connecting rod must be replaced as a set.

Expiration Notice ***** Campaign Summary***** In 2007, Nissan launched a Voluntary Service Campaign on certain MY2004-05 Quest and Armada vehicles equipped with optional seat-mounted side air bags to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Diagnosis Sensor Unit. In a small number of these vehicles, an incorrect SRS Diagnosis Sensor Unit may have been installed after an accident repair or part failure. If an incorrect part installation occurred, the optional seat-mounted side air bags may not deploy during a crash. This service campaign is expiring because the required parts and tools are no longer available. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Service Comm will deactivate P7245 on any unrepaired VINs on March 20, 2019. - No further action is required. 2. Dealers should submit any open claims for this campaign as soon as possible. Nissan would like to have all claims submitted by March 29, 2019.
