Low coolant warning light came on while driving. Parked car in garage and found engine coolant all over garage floor. Contacted dealer, topped off coolant per conversation with service advisor and drove car to dealership. Dealer found that a rock had entered through one of the grille openings and damaged the front radiator. Estimate of repairs was $2,037 which Mercedes offered to cover $1,000 of the repair. Concern is that this may very well happen again due to the design of the grille.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLE 350. The contact stated while coming off the highway at 15-20 MPH, she made a left into her community. The brake stopped to the floor and the seat belt restrained her without cause. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) displayed illuminated when no collision occurred., no other warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer with no issues. The vehicle has not been repaired, awaiting a diagnostic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure yet. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

On February 4 2024 my SUVs vehicle roof glass panel between windshield and panoramic glass roof shattered with no impact to it while parking in my homes' driveway. I heard a pop and thought I'd ran over some object. After inspecting vehicle nothing had been ran over and noticed the glass panel on top of windshield on roof shattered across whole entire end to end.

I received the attached Notice of Safety recall on 2/2/24 regarding an increase risk of crash due to a software error in the ESP unit. The letter also states that there is no remedy available yet. When I reached out to dealership who leased me the car they assured me that my car was safe to drive although no further explanation was given as to why they felt it was safe. And , I was further informed that they were prohibited from selling any vehicles in their inventory that were subject to the same recall as my vehicle.

Pick up car from dealer drove car home sitting in drive and it’s stalled try to start but couldn’t .towed it to Mercedes dealership they told me water is in the trunk and charging me $585 them to diagnose and it could be another $300 dollars more for them to tell me what’s wrong, which they already knew there is a water problem with the gle trucks

This vehicle had a recall to place a water drain in the rear truck section to drain water if it somehow entered the vehicle to prevent the fuel pump module from failing. This vehicle suddenly stalled and was towed to the dealer. The dealer reports the vehicle had water Intrusion as reported by the dealer and subsequently the fuel pump module was exposed to water and failed which the recall was to prevent if occurred requiring repair and replacement of the fuel pump control module not covered by the dealer

SUSPENSION
01/22/2024 NHTSA Complaint – GLE350 4Matic The front suspension, either the control arm or upper arm, feels loose and noise is coming from the front suspension as if a bolt or bolts are loose. Base on recall information for the 2016 GLE350 4Matic, NHTSA campaign ID: 17V081000, REPORT DATE 02/07/2017, the loose bolt(s) may cause improper wheel tracking, increasing the risk of a crash. Vehicle owners are instructed to contact dealer to inspect the tightness of the bolt connecting the upper control arm and the axle stub on the affected vehicles, replacing the upper control arm, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 2017. I request that NHTSA add my vehicle VIN number to the recall and add all GLS 350 4Matic vehicles to the recall for model year 2017. I do not want my wife or I to be involve in a crash as a result of the negligence and poor-quality control of Mercedes Benz. I contacted MBUSA and Hendrik Mercedes of Charlotte, NC on 01/22/2024 and both refuse the inspect and fix the issue without me paying for the resolution. I told them that I refuse to pay to fix a problem that is the result of poor-quality control and quality assurance. I requested that MBUSA pay to fix the issue as they have done for the 2016 GLE350 4MATIC with the same problem. I am fearful for the life of my family. This matter is of very serious concern to my family's life, health and well-being. Please address this matter immediately, as we drive the SUV daily.

* My driving side front wheel climbed a small bump with a rock. I put my car on reverse and pressed the accelerator. The car first refused to reverse then went completely out of control. The engine produced a huge revving noise and the car accelerated, taking the car backward at high speed. I had no control. The car went off the road, climbed a hill at a 45 degree incline on one side of the road. It continued up the hill at high speed until it hit a tree. The impact caused about 1 foot of the passenger side to be a mangled mass of steel from the rear fender to the front passenger door. The gas tank was exposed but intact. *There were no injuries because I was the only occupant and the driver's side was unaffected. If there were persons in the passenger rear seat, there would have been serious injury. *The damage was obvious (I have photographs) and was witnessed by two onlookers and the tow-truck driver. The insurance company (AAA) declared the car totalled and settled. They did not want to examine the car for defects. * There were no warning signs during the year it was driven by me. The car had a service one week before this event.

The door hinges are an issue with these cars many many people are expressing the same issues which is the door hinges fail and start popping and cracking. Mercedes isn’t issuing a recall or remedy for this. Also there’s an issue with the passenger airbag weight sensors going bad which is throwing the airbag light off (which this is also happening in my car) the service center I talked to knew about this is agreed it a issue they see time and time again with these cars. Mercedes needs to make this right.

The contact owns a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE450. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling in traffic, the check engine and battery warning lights illuminated along with the message to "Do not Drive Vehicle". The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank and fuel delivery module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V572000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 29,201.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Wednesday Dec 27th 2023 at approx 6pm. While enroute on Interstate 81 South at Hagerstown VA in heavy rain, darkness and heavy traffic at highway speed the windshield wiper arm on the passenger side (right) suddenly collided with the drivers side arm - the wiper blade flew off and was lost the wiper arms then became entangled and ceased to operate. I believe I was quite fortunate to find an opening between trucks to get to the right side shoulder and pull the vehicle off the road. On investigation I found that the right side wiper arm was rotating freely and not operating - obviously having suffered a mechanical failure. I could not determine any immediate cause. The left side wiper arm seemed to operate normally and after waiting for the rain to subside I was able to continue the journey to an overnight stop. In my view this is an event that should never occur - the right side wiper arm is a complex mechanical linkage which operates at high velocity to sweep the area. This resulted in a complete loss of visibility at 55mph. There could have been very serious consequences. There was no warning, sound or sign of an impending failure. I will record a video of the current state of the wiper arms. I will be giving the vehicle to the Mercedes Dealer in Naples, Florida for inspection and repair. It is my judgement that given reasonable weather my trip can be completed safely.

2024 GLE450: This engine has twin turbos. On second day of ownership a "yellow turtle" warning light appeared on dash. This indicated loss of significant engine power (i.e. hence the "turtle mode"). This happened, without warning, multiple times on highway during first few days of ownership. I think this means the turbochargers were "deactivated" or taken "off line" by vehicle's management system. Result was suddenly compromised ability while passing and ability to maintain highway speed to safe exit. Checked vehicle in to MB Service Department (on day five of ownership) for analysis and repairs. Vehicle subsequently in shop for 29 days!; 8/3/23-8/31/23 Repair order is more than two pages, single spaced. Appears dealer Service Dept ultimately "Replaced crank case vapor oil separator on top of valve cover." I tried to upload Service Invoice but wouldn't let me do it.

Around once a week, while utilizing the car in comfort mode, the car will appear to kick into neutral when stopped at a traffic light. When it’s time to accelerate, despite indicating it’s in drive, the car will not move as if it’s in neutral. The car must then be shifted into drive again to be able to move.

Vehicle fails to accelerate when the accelerator is pushed all the way to the floor. Maximum acceleration is 20-25 mph. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety is greatly put at risk in normal traffic conditions due to the inability to accelerate. I am also unable to drive on the highway or anywhere requiring higher rates of speed. I am also unable to quickly remove myself from a dangerous traffic situation where acceleration is required. The dealer confirmed the problem but has been dishonest about the source of the problem and whether it has truly been repaired. First they said it was a software problem that they could not fix. Then they said it was a hardware problem. They replaced the hardware, but have never confirmed that it was not also a software problem. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership. The engine light came on. This first appeared about 3 days before the problem started.

Foul odor coming from AC vents. My 2023 GLE350W has less than 12k miles on it. Needed BIO pledge service, cabin filter and dust filter. Odor was making passengers in the vehicle ill. I had to pay $412 which should have been deemed a RECALL as earlier models have had covered/reimbursed. Mercedes Dealership confirmed issue and preformed repair.

The contact owns a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle briefly hesitated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the cylinder head was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 49,000.

Hear a clicking sound when I drive the vehicle - like a metronome. It happens randomly and I am not able to recreate it when I take the car in for service. I recorded a video of it when it happened and showed it to the dealership service department - They said they hear the sound but cannot do anything about it unless they can hear it when they take it for a test drive. This has been happening for atleast two years now from when the car had 25000 miles to even now when it has 61,000 miles. It does not matter what speed I am driving it. Once it starts it continues till I stop the car and turn it off .
