The throttle pedal assembly is supposed to be bolted to the floor. Two studs are sticking up from the floor and the throttle pedal assembly fits over the two 6 mm studs. Two nuts might have been installed at the factory, but now they are no where to be found. The whole throttle pedal assembly is off the two studs and tilted sideways and very unstable. As the throttle can not be controlled by the driver, the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE350. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer, where a water drain plug was installed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH in the rain, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to the residence. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle later that day, the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact stated while driving the following day, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that water accumulation in the spare tire wheel well had damaged the fuel pump control unit, causing the engine to stall while driving. The mechanic determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where the same assessment was made; however, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under the recall because the recall had already been marked as completed. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

Hello, I am writing to inform the possible defective design of Mercedes Benz GLE 350 model. I had purchased new 2024, Mercedes Benz in September 2023. There is a issue with loud noise coming from back of car due to camera shutter opening and closing for no reason when car reaches under 16 miles/hour speed. This is very distracting besides being annoying as well. Camera shutter also makes loud noise when parking and reversing the car. There is a genuine issue with defective design of camera system located in trunk door in GLE 350. I Many other customers have expressed similar concerns online. I took my car to local dealer twice but told that this is a normal feature of car. I wrote several times to Mercedes Benz USA but company did not show any interest in looking at the issue. Large number of customers on line also have written up about this annoying features in many Mercedes Models. I am not sure if this right place to write this complaint. I have been getting Battery Monitor - Charge status very low warnings for the past month and they occur at any moment, including while driving the car. The warning then states for me to stop and pull the car over so it can charge up. MESSAGE: 12V Battery The battery's state of charge is very low. The Remote Services are no longer available - in order to reduce your vehicle's energy consumption. The ability to start and access your vehicle may be restricted. For details of how to charge your 12V battery, refer to the Operator's Manual for your vehicle. I've been getting this message daily for about a month and had set an appointment with Mercedes to check the vehicle. The dealership stated the following: Good afternoon Mr. [XXX]! We have your GLE ready for pickup. Our testing could not find anything with the battery message you were getting. No current or stored faults whatsoever -- tested the battery and it passed. Not sure what could have caused that message to come up, but we haven't been able to reproduce it. As a consumer, this is concerning considering i've been getting the message for the past month at least once a day and mostly while I'm driving the vehicle. A safefy recall was issued December 2023 for my vehicle. I received a recall notification letter dated February 2024. The letter stated that the fuel pump impeller mighe deform contacting the fuel pump housing causing the fuel pump to stop operating. As a result the vehicle could lose drive power and increase the risk of a crash or injury. As a result I am reluctant to drive my vehicle far from home. I'm told after nearly five months there is no remedy. Someone at the local dealership said the remedy is available but had not reach the area where I live. As a customer I am totally dissatisfied with the handling of this safety recall.

After driving the car about 5 miles at about 10 miles per hour while decelerating the transmission shifted into neutral requiring me to need to pull over to the side of the road, put the car in park, turn it off and back on again, this has now happened 3 times in the span of about 1 week.

Rear trunk lid seal leaking water in rear cargo compartment caused damage to fuel pump. I was driving on a main busy road when without warning the car shut off. The traffic light was about to change so the person behind me was slowing down luckily. There was no warning light, indicator or sound the car just stopped . It stopped in the middle of the road impeding traffic as it stopped near a 4- way intersection at a busy time of day. The car was towed to dealer after extensive examination it was found to be a leak in rear trunk seal. There was no visible damage to seal or water damage in cargo area. I was told this is problem know to Mercedes as they have issued a bulletin on how to repair it. This has been happening for years without a resolution to this problem. I was told in my case it had been leaking over an extended amount of time and there was know way to discover it until the damage is done. I find that hard to believe that Mercedes would not recall this and find a remedy before it results in a serious accident or death. A car stopping on busy road or highway with a fast speed of traffic following is a tragedy waiting to happen. I had no warning of the potential danger I was in until it happened. The damage it causes is around $1,600 for a rubber piece that gets loose and allows water to damage the fuel pump. And because that piece is not covered under extended warranty the burden is put on the owner which it unfair to say the least.

My car randomly swerves in a zigzag motion unexpectedly, nearly causing several accidents. I am scared to drive my car. I have not been able to detect any triggers, as it will do this randomly, regardless of a smooth road, street conditions, weather, speed, freeway, neighborhoods, etc. No warning lamps have come on. Tires are in excellent condition. I have not found any information online, and everything seems to be in perfect working order, tough it is absolutely not.

While coming off the highway on an exit ramp, several car warnings/lights appeared and the car abruptly decelerated such that I could not drive more than ~30 miles/hour. The warning message said "performance extremely limited" and two warning lights (an engine and a turtle) came on. This problem has occurred on three separate occasions and after each incident, I took the car into the dealer for repair, each time with repair efforts seemingly made. During the third time in the shop, the dealer completely replaced the power electronics unit and cooler. While the car was in the shop the second time, I also contacted the corporate headquarters of the manufacturer about options to refund or replace the car under my state's lemon law. After multiple follow-up calls on my part since my inquiry was opened about 7 weeks ago, I have yet to receive any update on my inquiry, leaving me driving a car with questionable reliability for highway driving and wondering if there might be a need for a broader safety recall.

Component: Faulty exhaust valves caused the vehicle engine to misfire while driving at high speed (80mph) and required cylinder head replacement. Available for inspection. I was driving through a heavy rainstorm at night on I [XXX] toward Roanoke on [XXX]. While I was driving at speeds between 80-84 mph during a work trip from Texas to Virginia, the vehicle suddenly started shaking vigorously and I was unable to accelerate over 50mph. No alerts came on my system dash nor the MercedesME app on my phone, however, I did notice the ‘check engine’ light suddenly came on. It was very shaky but I was able to continue driving at the slower speed and with the vehicle heavily shaking. The problem was inspected and repaired under warranty by Mercedes-Benz service in Alexandria, VA. Had the 2021 vehicle been out of warranty, the repair would have cost around $10,000 according to Mercedes-Benz service. This past week, I went to the dealer for an intermittent engine light issue. The problem was minor and was fixed (faulty charcoal sensor). I asked to have my spark plugs replaced as well. The service department called me, and said that the engine harness is brittle and if they accessed.. it could break. This was not considered an immediate issue. Quote was $7300 to replace it. This seemed like a defect rather than an standard wear issue (even though I drive a lot, @ 170K highway miles). My car drives like new, and has had no major issues whatsover. In fact, it is only now that I need to have my rotors replaced. Had I not mentioned that I wanted new spark plugs, the issue would not have came up during the service. I hope that you can look into this, as other Mercedes GLE 450 owners make have the same issue as I. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
