I allowed a software update to my vehicle about six weeks ago. Now, about 10 minutes after starting the car, a screen comes up, completely covering all vehicle information. The screen does not close except with repeated tapping of the X and the left bar. Closing the screen requires attention that would be better paid to road conditions and other drivers. I asked my Lexus dealer service department to get rid of the screen. They were unable to do so. They suggested contacting Lexus via the emergency button while parked. I did so but when I replied that I did not have an emergency, I was disconnected. If this screen came up when the vehicle is started, then it would not be a safety concern. But coming up 10 minutes after ignition, it is definitely a dangerous distraction. I live in a mountainous region where driving requires full attention. It is a 30 minute drive to where I can pull over and get rid of the screen. During this time I am distracted by the screen and have no access to vehicle information.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The Drivers side door (light at the bottom of the door) sparked and then the door went up in flames. At that point the electricity in the car ceased to work. The car is available for inspection at the dealership where we had it towed. If the door was closed and there was someone in the car when it happened then they would have gotten burned or worse. Our insurance company is investigating and Lexus has been taking their time and helpful in the matter. Fire Department checked out the car at the time and said the wires in the door were very hot after putting out the fire. There were no symptoms or warnings prior to this happening.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The contact owns a 2023 Lexus NX450H. The contact stated while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. The contact stated that the vehicle was several inches away from crashing into another vehicle before the contact was able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

Safety recall was issue in July 2023. NHTSA Recall Number 23V478, Manufacturer Recall Number 23LB01. As of today March 2024, there still no remedy for the recall. I'm not able to use the car because of this safety recall. Over 8 months with no remedy or timeline when it will be fix.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I was in a car accident on the freeway . I had just got onto the freeway so I couldn’t have been going that fast . The brakes on this Lexus Nx [XXX] to say the least . Also the collision sensor and warning also are useless. The warning light and sound didn’t go off until I was basically rear ending the other vehicle . I had a different , 10 year old car . A 2014 that would start to pump air and brake itself even when the car sensor believed it was close to a car and I wasn’t braking . This 2024 Lexus didn’t brake nor warn me in time . When I did notice the car in front of me had come to a complete stop I immediately hit the brakes but the car was still sliding forward ! This sliding motion happened once before when I made a u- turn and had to stop because of the line going into a shopping center . Fuel door does not open. Mis-aligned door does not open. Car has been back to the dealer twice for this problem. Both times we were told the entire assembly was replaced and both times the door was still visibly mis-aligned. See photos attached

SERVICE BRAKES
My concern is regarding the auto start-stop feature. It is a concern since the feature is tied to both the brakes and engine, and it could lead to other/bigger issues. When stepping on the brakes to come to a stop, sometimes the auto start-stop feature turns on. Upon releasing the brakes, there is a loud grinding noise. I brought it to the dealer twice for this issue. The first time a master technician got in the car with me, he drove it and he was able to reproduce the sound continuously, at least 10 times. I left my car with them for a week and was told they were never able to reproduce the noise again. I brought my car home and drove it for 5 days and then it started making the noise again. I took it back to the dealership and they kept it for another 5 days. I was told again they were not able to reproduce the noise. There have been no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem. As background, I purchased my car in April of 2023. The noise started in January of 2024, with less than 6800 miles on it. It happened off and on and it took a few weeks for me to realize the noise was tied to the start-stop feature. Once it became more prevalent, that is when I finally called the dealership to explain the issue and got an appointment to take my car in on 2/19/2024. I currently don't have videos to attach but can follow up with videos in the future if needed.

STRUCTURE:BODY, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
This vehicle has the standard headlights. No headlight cleaners included. Live in Colorado. When it snows, the front end of the car attracts snow to the point all the safety features shut down and the headlights pack up with snow so bad you cannot drive the car at night. You can’t see the road and other drivers flash their headlights to tell you the lights are not on, even though they are. Only solution is to pull over in the storm and brush the snow off the headlights. That last about 5 miles. This is a severe safety issue in which Lexus should be recalled to add headlight washers as part of the standard headlights.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The latch to the fuel door does not unlatch/open. I could not access the fuel cap to refuel despite multiple attempts at unlatching. When i called Lexus support they advised me to pry the door open “using my fingernails” while someone else pressed the button to unlatch the fuel door. After multiple attempts I was able to open the fuel door. I was at risk of running out of fuel and be stranded on the highway. the dealer is in the process of ordering a replacement part. This is a brand new 2024 make/model and it is a serious fault that needs to be remedied

Airbags failed to deploy during a crash where lexus was hit on driver's side. We got an alert that they malfunctioned. During inspection, the wire for the airbags was pulled which would indicate deployment. Car was totaled.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2023 Lexus NX350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the Adaptive Cruise Control feature activated, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop while driving by a road with vehicles parked next to the curb. The contact stated that there were no vehicles in front of the vehicle. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance message was illuminated when the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

The Lexus is equipped with a large screen which displays GPS and other Apps. The car has been programmed with a pop up advertisement which states "Experience Drive Connect" that is an additional paid subscription which I do not want. I can reach over and touch an icon that removes the pop up which only pops up again a short time later. According to Stevinson Lexus and Lexus for help site there is nothing they can do to remove the pop up. Here is the safety issue: My attention to driving has been comprised by having to look at the screen to remove the pop up which only pops up a short time later. This unnecessary advertisement is simply not wanted.

Hello, I'm currently in Ontario, Canada, and I've been experiencing an issue with my car. Specifically, the driver's door refuses to open when the temperature drops below freezing. This problem is consistently occurring, making it quite inconvenient as I'm unable to access the driver's side. It appears that the sensor freezes in such conditions, preventing the door from opening externally. Its been 5 days the temperature is below freezing and my driver side door will not open from outside door handle. Fortunately, it does open from the inside. This situation becomes particularly hazardous during strong winds when I have to open the door from the passenger side, risking the door swinging open unexpectedly. This could potentially lead to fatal consequences if the door collides with a passing vehicle or motorcycle. This issue is recorded by multiple dealers, its reported on Lexus forums and i have escalated it to Lexus of London. Canada. And Lexus USA too.

Driving 35 MPH in right lane, heard popping sound from driver side front tire, difficult to steer car as air deflated immediately from tire, pulled over to side of road. Was difficult steering car after tire deflated, felt at risk and had 94 year old passenger in car. tow truck driver stated it looked like a defective tire. warning light of low tire pressure came on as the tire rapidly deflated tire size 225/65R 17

The electrical system failed. It operates just about all the systems including items that are normally operated manually. My wife entered the car and pressed the start button and the car would not start. The car locked my wife inside with no manual method for opening the door. Fortunately, I was home at the time and was able to execute a manual release of the door using a key found inside the remote. Lexus sent a AAA service truck to jump start the engine. We believe this dangerous situation is related to our previous complaint #11495096 for VIN [XXX] on 11/28/2022 where the car locked us out on two reported occasions. At vehiclehistory.com I found a similar problem reported for the Lexus RX450h, another plug-in Hybrid. In that case an amp meter was used to trace the source of the electrical drain from the battery. A faulty amplifier was consuming more power than needed and draining the 12 volt battery to a completely discharged state. There is a problem with the auxiliary battery holding a charge. There were no warnings, messages or prior symptoms. The car is available for inspection on request. We are taking it to the dealer this morning. When I bought it only came with one key fob according to Lexus all the NX models come with 1 key fob due to the chip shortage we will get another fob within six months. They have an app to use your cell phone to start - stop the vehicle that does not work properly. My wife and I are [XXX] and use our cell phones very little. My brother lives where they have no cell service, what are we supposed to do if my wife is two hours away with the vehicle and her cell phone dies? This is very poor service from Lexus. If the government would make them stop importing the NX vehicles until they have the chip issue worked out it would be a big step in the right direction. What happens when someone is stranded somewhere and can't unlock or start their vehicle because they have no key fob? They do not tell you anything about the key fob until after you pay for the vehicle. How many thousands of customers are they doing this to? While driving our Lexus on 8/13/2023 on the interstate under normal driving conditions ALL of our warning lights came on one after another. We also lost air conditioning and power brakes it seemed. We immediately exited and pulled over. Opened the hood and the engine caught fire and fully engulfed the engine compartment. From the time of the first warning light to the vehicle being engulfed was probably 5 - 7 minutes. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. We filed a product liability claim with Lexus/Toyota and they investigated the vehicle on or around 8/28/2023 and were not able to determine a cause of the fire. Because they could not determine a cause our claim was denied. Our car was perfectly maintained and only had 15,000 miles on it at the time of the fire. We bought this vehicle new almost two years to the day of the fire and believe the fire was caused by a defective part. We understand it is very difficult to determine the cause of an automobile engine fire. Other comments below: We do not know where the vehicle is now as there was an insurance claim and the insurance company only held it for 30 days. Our safety and the safety of others was at risk luckily no one was injured. Problem has not been reproduced or reviewed by an independent service center. Vehicle was inspected. All electrical warning lights came on

I purchased a new Lexus NX 350 on Oct 15, 2022. On Aug 7, 2023, with 6300 miles, my tire and wheel flew off while I was exiting a 5 lane highway. The tire continued rolling and went through the windshield of another vehicle. I was able to get the car off to the side of the exit ramp while riding on the rotor. The dealer claimed no responsibility even though the car had been in for its initial 5K service that included a tire rotation 1300 miles earlier. I asked Lexus Corporate to inspect the vehicle to protect others from a potential serious hazard. Lexus said the lug bolts were shorter in style and incompatible with the standard lug bolts. In addition the jack was missing. Why would I or anyone change lug bolts when the wheels and tires are still original? In addition, this SUV has 20” standard run flat tires which does not include a jack..
