- #11635987January 14, 2025BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The backup camera fails to display any image on the screen, significantly impacting my visibility while reversing. This issue occurred unexpectedly. Upon contacting the dealer, I was informed there is an active recall (24V023) related to this problem, but my VIN is not included. I believe my vehicle is also affected by the same recall. For reference, Land Rover’s internal recall number for this issue is N778.

- #11633905January 3, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I took my Range Rover in for a coolant leak, was told there was a Recall on a battery system, the recall was a software update to prevent that battery system from going offline. The system was already offline, and Land Rover North America refuses to honor the intent of the recall, and is refusing to cover the cost to replace that battery system. It only seems logical that if a recall is to prevent an issue from occurring yet the issue has already occurred, they should cover the cost to fix it. Notes form dealer below: RECALL - PERFORM OPEN RECALL # Labor $0.00 1. Unable to perform recall # N861 at this time due to BECM being off line. BECM requires replacement beforerecall can be performed.

- #11632283December 24, 2024LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, STEERING, ENGINE
Vehicle Safety and Functionality Concerns: 1.Steering Issues: Steering remains uncentered and unresponsive despite new tires and alignment at the dealership. Excessive steering margin, particularly dangerous in rainy conditions, leading to steering errors. 2.As the new generation Range Rover Sport in 2020, it has dual exhaust pipes, but only one side works. The dealer just said it was normal, but it is visually estimated that it will cause serious environmental pollution. 3.Lane Keeping Assistance Malfunction: The feature is almost non-functional, failing to keep the vehicle in its lane even under clear weather and road conditions. 4.Self-Closing Door Hazard: Doors lack anti-pinch sensors, causing multiple finger injuries to family members, including a severe incident where a finger was pinched off. This poses a severe safety risk, especially for children.

In February 2024, my car overheated. There was a large coolant leak in valley from the water pump and outlet pipes and a secondary leak from rear crossover pipe as well. The water pump, water valve, and cooling hoses were replaced, as well as the failed outlet pip and cooling hoses. Coolant soaked belts were also replaced. In August 2024, my car overheated AGAIN. This time, while I was driving in the middle of the freeway. When I took it back, there was another leak from one of the cooling hoses, so it was replaced again. Just last week, my car overheated AGAIN. Again, it was another leaking component that was fixed under warranty. The auto shop I took it to reached out to the dealer, as it's been an issue well known for failure.

I was informed by Hennessey Land Rover that there is a "Y" Alen pipe in the coolant system that will most likely fail around 50,000 to 60,000 miles. The "Y" piece is two pieces of pipe sandwiched together verses one solid piece. They are telling me that once the pipe fails all of the coolant will escape the engine block and will most likely seize the engine. They are not covering the cost to do the repair, around $4500.00, and I find this unacceptable because they build the coolant system with a piece they know is faulty.

- #11629879December 10, 2024ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while cold starting the vehicle, the vehicle was idling roughly, and the contact had to depress the accelerator pedal to prevent the vehicle from stalling. The contact stated that numerous warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, and the ignition coil, fuel injectors, and spark plugs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to a known failure of the engine and timing chain for the year, make and model vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 236,000.

Subject: Recall Complaint – Complaint No. 24V840000 / Land Rover Recall N759 Vehicle Information: 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Issue Description: I discovered a crack in the passenger-side steering knuckle of my vehicle, caused by a manufacturing defect where the bolt was over-torqued. This defect risks catastrophic steering failure, potentially leading to a severe accident. While this issue is part of a recall in Canada and similar recalls for other Land Rover models (Discovery Sport, Evoque) exist in the U.S., my vehicle has not been included in the U.S. recall. Service Attempt: Land Rover of Huntington refused to honor the recall, citing my VIN’s exclusion, and quoted over $9,000 for repairs. I escalated the issue to Rey Rodriguez, an executive specialist with Land Rover North America, but was told: "You have reached the highest level within Land Rover North America... your VIN is not part of the recall, and no further reconsideration will occur." Safety Concern: This defect can go unnoticed, putting drivers at risk of steering failure and fatal accidents. Land Rover's refusal to address this known safety issue endangers consumers. Request: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter and include the 2015 Range Rover Sport in the recall to ensure driver safety. Attachments: Supporting documents are provided.

My driver's side door will not stay latched and my door opens unexpectedly on my 2016 Range Rover Sport Diesel. I will be in gear, starting to drive and the door comes open and the vehicle is automatically thrown into park. Or the problem happens when I enter my vehicle and attempt to close the door and it will not latch, it just bounces back open. A recall was issued for other 2016 RR models, however my vehicle vin was not included. My vehicle is currently at the Land Rover dealership service center in Tucson and they refuse to try appeal to Land Rover to cover this. The dealership has confirmed the issue I am experiencing. I called the Land Rover Customer Service line and they refuse to assist me, saying if the vehicle vin wasn't included in the recall there is nothing they can do about it. They said there is not an appeal process or anyone higher up that will assist me to escalate the problem. Basically they are refusing to stand behind their product even though they know this is a very real issue affecting their vehicles. The recall I am referencing was issued in 2022 after the NHTSA issue was brought to their attention in 2019. Recall Action Number N336v3, date of issue May 31, 2022. I am experiencing the same exact issue as addressed in the recall. No warnings, nothing. One minute my door is closing and the next it is open.

Both front knuckles found to have cracks in the aluminum casting where the upper control arm mounts to the knuckles. Failure of this portion of the knuckle will result in complete loss of control of the car. This problem is well documented in other L494 and L405 Range Rovers with recalls currently active in other countries where these car were sold. The components have not been inspected by 3rd party as of yet due to safety concerns with transporting the vehicle to locations. No warning lamps or noises were present as there is no way for the vehicle to detect this failure which only occurs catastrophically without warning. Photos attached are of both knuckles with cracks.

The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine, coolant, and oil warning lights simultaneously flashed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the vehicle had failed to start after several attempts. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where the mechanic linked the failure to the engine cam carrier listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V044000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was then towed to another independent mechanic but was not repaired and remained in possession of the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
