Second day we owned this brand new vehicle we had a small rock hit the windshield at highway speed. The impact created an immediate chip and small star in the glass. Within 2 hours it had cracked over 6 inches. I have never had a windshield crack so fast and large after a rock impact. The size of the chip would not lead you to believe the windshield would crack. I have read multiple complaints of this exact same issue.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
The LCD screen in the instrument cluster/combimeter went blank. The LCD display contains information such as digital speedometer, gear selection, odometer, distance-to-empty, and all ADAS information. Problem cannot be reproduced. The phenomena has only presented itseld twice (11/2023 and 3/2024). Certified Kia dealer stated there weren't any signs of failure. Service proceeded to perform a hard restart on the system. There is a similar recall for this phenomena (21V577000).

The torque converter is malfunctioning to where I have been unable to use my vehicle for almost 2 months. It is available for inspection, but is currently at a repair shop pending inspection to get an estimate on costs to fix the issue (if it is something that can be fixed). My safety along with my family's safety were put at risk due to the inability for the vehicle to pick up speed while driving on major highways [XXX]. During this time the check engine light came on for the 1st time, the vehicle would not properly pick up speed, continuously makes a whining noise when vehicle is on whether it's being driven or not and it shakes at various speeds. A diagnostic was completed and the code listed was for the torque converter. Since that time (1st week of February), I have not been able to drive the vehicle. This is the only vehicle in my household. I am still having to make payments on it and cannot use it. KIA has had a recall in the past issued in June 2020 for a specific timeframe of vehicles produced between May 18, 2020 - May 20, 2020 for the "Automatic transmission/Torque Converter Assembly Replacement". With this recall, KIA only listed 19 VIN's to associate this major issue with. The recall also stated to complete this action prior to the sale of the vehicle to prevent customer complaints. My car was manufactured in June 2019 and I purchased it mid year 2020. If KIA has sold thousands of Tellurides since that time, how can only 19 be affected? I have attached a copy of the previous recall. Once I receive an estimate, I can also forward it. I also have copies of every/all maintenance completed since getting this vehicle to show everything has been completed on time & by a KIA dealership in my area (it doesn't let me upload this file). ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
While driving the Kia Telluride, the forward collision avoidance warnings started flashing, then said it was failing, then the tire pressure system did the same, then the speedometer and tachometer failed as did the turn signals, gear shift, and lights. The car was becoming unsafe to drive. The car has been at the dealer for 3 weeks now, the dealer changed the Cluster Assembly-Instrument at at cost of $2600. Within 1/2 of leaving the dealership the same problem noted above began happening, again making the car unsafe to drive. In researching on line at the KiaTelluride forum there have been a large number of similar unsafe occurrences by other Kia Tellurides as reported by owners. This is a serious safety problem that has been noted numerous times. (I can't get my images of the 2 page dealer invoice for Cluster Assembly-Instrument $2600 that did not solve the problem to download on this form. )

The Forward Collision Warning has been turning on and off for no reason. River Oak Kia has checked the system once. My windshield has cracked twice. I am having a third windshield installed when I obtain the funds. I purchased the car on 12/30/2023. The windshield has cracked two time and I am about to install third windshield. I am having the same problem with my 2021 palisade.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The driver's side high beam headlight has stopped working. I am told it is because a baffle, a movable reflector, inside the headlight assembly has stopped functioning. In addition, the cost of replacing the headlight assembly is $1300. I know you have received some complaints about the 2020 Telluride. The same assembly in the 2022 Telluride.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
On multiple occasions, the automatic braking has engaged while reversing even though there has been no risk of collision. It has happened with no cars, pedestrians, or other obstacles in sight. The brakes engage suddenly and with no warning causing the car to come to a violent stop. In one case it happened while reversing off a main road into our driveway. The sudden and unnecessary stop meant that the front of car was jutting into the main road with oncoming traffic. In other cases, it has just caused immediate unnecessary concern that we have hit something. It is possible to disable this functionality but the setting cannot be saved - so it needs to be disabled every time you turn on the car. We have engaged with the dealer and with KIA directly and neither have offered any solution to the problem. The suggestion seems to be that this is normal behavior for the car. From my perspective this is a defective system and is dangerous. At a minimum, it should be possible to disable it completely.

There have been several times over the last couple of months when my car brakes on its own. I have not had any "extra" features on such as cruise control or lane assist. I have been driving 70 mph on the highway, my car suddenly brakes, and then I am unable to accelerate. It is absolutely terrifying. We called our nearest Kia dealership after the second time and they told us to get a car wash and since it hasn't been consistently happening, they wouldn't be able to re-create it or fix it. We have been going out of our way to keep the front sensor, and it still happens. I worry that I will be driving on the highway (again) when this happens, and the semi truck behind me won't have time to adjust to my sudden, and unwanted, deceleration.

There is a design defect in my 2024 Kia Telluride. There is no protection for the condenser/radiator. My air conditioner did not work. Brought it to dealer, dealer said a foreign object penetrated the condenser. I asked how it happened, dealer said there is no protection for the radiator or condenser so this problem may happen again and again. Kia does not offer a screen to be installed in front of condenser/radiator. My bill to repair was $2,400. Plus car rental of $100.. I have Asthma and it was almost impossible for me to drive the 200 miles to get the car to service. I contacted Kia claim # 16235056 and was told they will not help.

The motor was empty of oil after driving 2400 miles since the last oil change. The oil was changed on [XXX] at 102,220 miles. When the check engine light came on, I checked the oil and there was none on the dipstick on [XXX] at 104,884 miles. I had an oil consumption test run at the Kia dealership in Hickory, NC they stated I was only 1 quart low at 1,000 miles. This test was completed in September 2023. The dealership stated since I passed the first round of the oil consumption test that there was no issue with my Telluride. When the car is running, one can smell the oil burning from the exhaust. The dealership in Hickory refused to further investigate the issue. When I returned to the dealership on [XXX], they stated they would not do another oil consumption test because my 100,000 mile warranty was over. I told them I have an extended warranty and they told me most extended warranties do not cover oil consumption. In September, this dealership also failed to replace the housing for the oil filter properly, causing the oil to leak out tremendously after changing the oil. I had to take it to a different mechanic to figure out why there was an excessive leak. There is an oil consumption issue with my Telluride and the dealership in Hickory, NC is refusing to aid me in identifying the issue. I went into the dealership to have the air condition system looked at because on 2/27/2024, the weather was warm enough to have the ac on while driving home. The ac was not working as far as cooling, it was just blowing hot air. No indication of any issue with the coolant system at all. I call and make an appointment to the dealership to have this looked at on 3/02/2024 and they said that the condenser was damaged. They said that they thought it might be from debris from the road, I said at that point I believe it to be a defect on design. They gave a song and dance in regards to my logic but then did say that KIA is aware of the issue but it doesn't happen to much. I have also checked to see if this was and is a design problem, seeing that this particular issue has been going on for several years it should be corrected. This item and the rest of the front of the vehicle go through a lot of stuff over it's time on the road or off-road. Which brings up the other issue that this is an off-road SUV made to not be on regular road conditions whatever they are. This SUV has never been off-road and I have not done anything to the vehicle to cause this issue. It is a design defect and needs to be corrected.

2020 KIA TELLURIDE 41,000 miles: Engine overheated and ceased while on the freeway. Head Gasket blew, coolant hose had a hole the size of my fist on one side and the other clean split, along with cylinder 3 and 5 misfiring. I lost power and was able to go 25 mph on the freeway and lots of white smoke coming from the hood of the car. Semi trucks were slamming on their brakes to avoid hitting me as it was a dark foggy evening. The engine failure on the freeway could have easily caused multi vehicle collisions involving semi trucks resulting in casualties and loss of life. After 2 months in the shop the dealership has approved a new engine, however they don't know when they can get it in and no time frame when I will have my vehicle back. There was no warning and dealership confirmed there would not have been a warning until after the engine failed. I have maintained all maintenance schedules. There is a Facebook group with many similar stories of engine failures
