This bulletin also provides information to upgrade the ECU software logic. The subject vehicles may experience fuel tank swelling due to an issue with the PCSV check valve, which results in pressurized air to flow into the fuel tank. This may cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate, and in some cases, the engine to run rough, and/or an inability to refuel. These conditions may cause the vehicle to release air pollutant which exceed Federal and California standards.

During normal operation, moisture may become trapped in the affected vehicle’s fuel filler door housing. Trapped moisture/water may enter the fuel door actuator, preventing the actuator operating normally. The new fuel door housing replacement part features a drainage port hole in the actuator casing to release any moisture that may collect in the fuel door housing.
