My 2022 Jeep Wrangler has an ongoing issue involving an oil and diesel leak, which creates a hazardous driving condition and poses a fire and safety risk. The vehicle has been taken in for repair multiple times (4 repair attempts) for the same issue, and the problem remains unresolved. Due to the severity of the leak, the vehicle is unsafe to operate and requires towing to the dealership. Despite repeated repair attempts, the manufacturer has failed to provide a permanent fix and has denied further assistance based on procedural reasons (vehicle not currently at dealership, mileage, and warranty concerns). I am concerned this is a broader safety defect that could affect other vehicles.

CAR WOULD NOT START AND WOULD NOT CHARGE. WHEN JEEP SHUT OFF IT WOULD SHOW THE RED PLUG SYMBOL. ONCE IT FINALLY STARTED, I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL SO I COULDN'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR VERY LONG IF AT ALL. IF I DID COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I WAS ON A HILL, IT WOULD START TO ROLL BACKWARDS. WHEN I WOULD ACCELORATE, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN 2ND GEAR, WHEN I WOULD TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE PEDAL IT WOULD CONTINUE TO ACCELORATE A FEW MPH AND THEN WOULD FINALLY SLOW DOWN. AT TIMES IT WOULD NOT WANT TO ACCELORATE, EVEN IF YOU DID HAVE YOUR FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN. DID NOT WANT TO REVERSE AT TIMES. DIDNT FEEL LIKE IT WANTED TO GO. THE JEEP WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO DRIVE IN E-SAVE, OR ELECTRIC, EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY WAS 100% CHARGED AND HAD A HALF TANK OF GAS. THE JEEP WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN HYBRID MODE. WE HAD THE JEEP AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ONE OF THREE RECALLS THIS JEEP WAS APART OF. IRONICALLY MY JEEP DID NOT START HAVING ISSUES UNTIL THAT SPECIFIC RECALL WAS "FIXED". IF I WERE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS JEEP, NOT ONLY WOULD I CAUSE HARM TO OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME, BUT MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF THAT DRIVE IN THIS VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE FRIDAY THE 13TH WITH NO RESOLUTION.

The contact stated that approximately one month prior to receiving notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); the vehicle experienced electrical failures and the battery failed to hold a charge, and the vehicle was not operational. Additionally, the transmission was extremely low on transmission fluid, and the differential was leaking oil. The contact stated that after the recall repair was completed, the previous failures worsened. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,300.

First incident: January, 2026 “service hybrid electrical system” dash light activated, in addition to prior notification of recall 78C. Vehicle brought to Merrick Chrysler Jeep in Wantagh NY for repair and recall. Hybrid system repaired but recall unable to be performed. Second incident: March 12, 2026 Vehicle is unable to start in driveway. Towed to Merrick Jeep Chrysler. Stellantis states recall 78C repairs are still unavailable. Awaiting information from Merrick Jeep March 16, 2026 Email to stellantis officially requesting early lease termination due to extreme safety issues (recall 78C) and two incidents of hybrid electrical system failure in 2 months. Received case number 00319759.

We were at a complete stop, with foot on break when my jeep lunged forward twice , second lunge hit the vehicle in front of me, also that car was at a complete stop. It has lunged 2 other times while at a complete stop .

POWER TRAIN, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission) has had recurring drivetrain instability since about 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. It intermittently has high RPM flare during acceleration, delayed shifting, shuddering under load, and abrupt engagement. At low speeds (about 10–5 mph), it harshly downshifts, grabs suddenly, RPMs jump up and down, and it can feel like it will stall; it has stalled intermittently. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels like the vehicle resists braking or surges before slowing. The forward collision warning/automatic emergency braking has activated with no obstacle present, and the power steering assist has been lost intermittently. There is also an engine tick and a high-pitched whining noise from the engine/drivetrain area. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. After installation of a new Mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms returned. AAMCO has now found that the new torque converter failed, with metal shavings throughout the transmission, in the fluid, and at the bottom of the pan. I was advised that the vehicle should be sent to a Jeep dealership because no codes are currently present. I was also advised that the dealership may replace only the torque converter rather than the entire transmission, despite recurring failure and metal contamination. This presents a safety concern due to loss of acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, stalling, unintended braking activation, power steering loss, engine/drivetrain noise, and repeated drivetrain failure. SUSPENSION
DEATH WOBBLE repeatedly while traveling on the highway at speeds above 60 MPH. Where is a terrain surface change, asphalt to bridge or and seam in the road cause a violent shaking of the front of the car. This has happened multiple times. I took the car to a car repair, there was no visual issues seen, but the repair people told me they no longer buy Jeeps as their personal vehocle because of the death wobble. They did not recommend a sway bar because in their experience it did not correct the issue.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V111000 (Visibility), and 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with Hybrid Mode activated, the vehicle shuddered abnormally. While attempting to defrost the front windshield, the defroster took longer than normal to defrost the windshield. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

My vehicle is experiencing EV system failures, stalling, and system shutdown warnings that make the vehicle unsafe to operate. These symptoms began after a recall repair that was performed by the dealership. The dealership initially stated the recall was repaired, but the same symptoms have continued and have now worsened. The vehicle will display EV system warnings and will stall or shut down systems while driving. The air conditioning and other systems also shut down as the vehicle attempts to protect the electrical system. I have brought the vehicle back to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. Despite the vehicle showing the same symptoms associated with the recall, I am now being told I may have to pay for additional teardown work unrelated to the EV system. This vehicle has become unsafe to drive, and I have requested assistance and escalation from dealership management but have not received a resolution. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk posed by the vehicle stalling and shutting down systems while in operation.

SUSPENSION
I do believe the part that is failing on the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the “Steering Dampner” and anyone at anytime is MORE than welcome to look at and inspect touched or feel it. This is SAFETY RISK has the entire vehicle starts to shake and wobble uncontrollably and without warning. If not for quick reflexes we would have been in a chain reaction crash. Was able to release gas and coast to under 50mph making lots of people behind me unhappy. The dealer said he repaired dampner when we had 4,000 miles, now again at 16,700 miles it’s back and we almost ended upside down in a river. Either Jeep or NHTSA must need people to die before they can make truly effective repairs or just remove this model form inventory. I believe it has to be more than just a dampner and the front suspension parts should all be looked at. There was ABSOLUTELY no warnings, lights, sounds, or indication that we were almost plunged to our death. Angels had to be riding with us. Let’s get this fixed!! PLEASE 🙏🏻

My 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe experienced a sudden loss of power while driving on Interstate 285 in Atlanta during rush hour traffic. The vehicle began shaking and lunging forward unpredictably while I attempted to exit the highway. With hazard lights on, I slowly crept the vehicle to the dealership because it could barely move. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for Recall 68C related to the hybrid battery system. This incident created a dangerous situation on a major interstate and could have caused a serious accident.

Glendale Dodge (CA) is actively using Federal Fire Risk Recall 68C to fraudulently conceal a separate, critical High-Voltage hardware failure on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Upon intake, my vehicle’s internal VIP diagnostic scan showed an active P0E15 code (Electric Coolant Heater Failure). Per Stellantis Technical Service Bulletins, this code indicates a severe failure requiring a physical hardware replacement to ensure the high-voltage system operates safely. To avoid performing this costly warranty repair, the dealership deliberately falsified the diagnosis on Final Invoice #31349. Under Line C (Customer States Check Engine Light is On), the dealership officially recorded the cause and correction as: 'DUE TO RECALL MODULE UPDATES AND BAD BATTERY.' This is an affirmatively false written diagnosis. A dead 12V battery and a recall software update do not cause, nor do they resolve, a P0E15 High-Voltage Electric Coolant Heater failure. The dealership lied on the legal invoice to scrub the hardware defect from the record. They then applied the 68C software patch as a smokescreen, falsified the 'Date Out' to 12/26/2025 to prematurely close the federal recall ticket, and attempted to return a vehicle that remains mechanically compromised and unsafe. This is intentional warranty fraud masking a high-voltage system failure. Stellantis and its authorized repair facility are refusing to properly remedy the vehicle. The vehicle is currently held at the dealership pending an active fraud investigation by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (Case #6596-WS4PV6).

See attached document for complaint. Sir: You are aware that this vehicle has two active Recall Notices attached to it; either of which can result in a vehicle fire, sudden loss of power, and loss of life or injury. Which means that I own an expensive vehicle which cannot be safely driven. Nor can it be traded in for another vehicle in its current condition. The manufacturer does not have an available fix for 25V-766 (engine contaminated with sand during manufacturing process); and since this defect can (in their own words) " ... lead to a catastrophic engine failure ... " it is unsafe to drive this vehicle at any speed. The other recall involves defects with the battery pack, which can lead to vehicle fire. There is no available fix for this defect either. My dealer has already attempted unsatisfactorily to correct multiple problems with the hybrid power system unrelated to the recall. Is the NHTSA planning to do anything to assist the thousands of people who own hybrid Jeep Wranglers affected by these defective systems? It would seem to me that the manufacturer should be mandated to repurchase these dangerous vehicles from the owners at market value or to provide a replacement vehicle of equal or greater value. The American drivers who own these dangerous vehicles should not continue to be put at risk any longer.

Vehicle stalled out. Then would not start. Daughter was stuck for 30 minutes until it finally turned over took it into dealership. Was told it’s the fuel pump. My issue is that now. These fuel pumps are back ordered indefinitely found out because all of the fuel pumps are going bad on the jeeps. Now we have a faulty part that the dealership is aware of that you cannot get replaced due to so many of them needing to be replaced, which tells me they know this part is faulty was told they’re not even sure if or when they would be able to get the part now you have all these people driving jeeps that can stall out on the road and get into a terrible accident. My daughter is [XXX] and this is not acceptable. She has a faulty car part and Jeep has no parts to replace this faulty part. JEEP Wrangler 2024 Issues PLATE NUMBER [XXX] BIN # [XXX] To whom it may concern, I would like to request a courtesy incentive or compensation due to the repeated recalls and repair situations with my Jeep Wrangler. There have been three lengthy recall repairs this winter. The extended repair times, especially when parts are back-ordered, have resulted in wasted time and additional mileage on my lease from trips to the dealership, appointments, and test drives. The electric engine issues have been particularly concerning, as the failure has rendered the vehicle inoperable on some occasions, posing a significant safety risk. There have been instances where the vehicle has completely stopped, created a dragging effect, and failed to start in winter, while experiencing malfunctions in all electric components. My fuel consumption has significantly increased over the past three months due to these repairs, and I am no longer able to effectively use the electric engine feature. The service department has been unable to diagnose the electric engine failure after multiple attempts, and as a result, the battery is being overcharged without engaging the electric motor. There have been numerous unresolved issues and repairs that have not been successfully completed. I acquired this hybrid vehicle after considering the advertising regarding its favorable fuel efficiency and the electric rechargeable engine feature. However, this feature has not been utilized this winter due to repeated malfunctions, recalls, or a combination of both. Since late November 2025, this electric engine has consistently ceased to function. Several scheduled repair diagnostic appointments were postponed by the dealer due to a busy service schedule and a shortage of staff at the repair facility. Additionally, I need to request unpaid time off from my job, as the dealer is unable to provide a loan vehicle while my jeep is being repaired. I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with the 6.4L engine (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has a dangerous condition where the engine stalls unexpectedly when the fuel level is approximately 1/4 tank or lower and the vehicle is traveling downhill. When the vehicle is positioned on a decline or downhill slope, the engine suddenly shuts off without warning. This appears to be fuel starvation on decline when the fuel level is below approximately 1/4 tank, resulting in engine stall and loss of power steering and braking assist after stall. This has occurred multiple times and creates a significant risk of crash due to the sudden loss of engine power and reduced steering and braking assistance while the vehicle is in motion. The issue is particularly concerning when descending hills or driving on angled terrain. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership (Carvana Jeep San Diego) where technicians determined the likely cause is a defective fuel pump module associated with the Wrangler Rubicon 392 6.4L fuel pump module. However, the dealership informed me the replacement fuel pump module is currently on national backorder from the manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep). They stated there is no confirmed availability date and that many vehicles may be waiting for the same component. My vehicle has been awaiting repair for approximately four months due to the unavailable fuel pump module. Because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while traveling downhill, this defect presents an ongoing safety hazard and potential risk of crash. This complaint is being submitted so the issue can be evaluated as a potential safety defect involving fuel delivery failure, fuel pump module malfunction, and engine stall under low fuel conditions in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. Following 2nd battery recall, acceleration, especially with the electric on, is sluggish and then suddenly electric fails and gas engine kicks in with a lurch. Electric no longer has the power it did prior to the recall and this provides uncertain acceleration for entering freeway from onramps or during other periods of needed acceleration.

While driving higher speeds (45 mph+) I have had my vehicle start shaking very violently which results in me having to slam on my breaks to gain control of my vehicle. When this happens I have been traveling on the highway or interstate which puts other drivers at risk due to me unexpectedly having to come to a halt to gain control of my vehicle. I have taken my vehicle to the mechanic multiple times (dealership twice and local mechanic twice) and I have had everything replaced on the front end that could cause this and it is still happening. Steering dampener has been replaced twice in a year. Mechanic seems to believe that there is a design flaw in the vehicle that is causing it at this point. There is no warning message or anything that gives me any warning. I am scared to drive my vehicle on the highway or interstate.
