  SERVICE INFORMATION NOTE - Failure to follow the procedures in this bulletin may result in the denial of a warranty claim. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Infiniti vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain,iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. NOTE - Paint Guard Film CANNOT remain on the vehicle for more than six months after the vehicle's manufacture date. PGF must be removed at the end of six months. Infiniti STRONGLY RECOMMENDS AGAINST making any change to seat trim materials from the factory equipped condition. This specifically applies to replacing the seat trim with non-factory materials; adding leather/cloth seat covers, seat pads, or seat storage pouches, etc. around or over the seat back and the passenger seat cushion. A wiring issue between the Key-Slot and the BCM. 4. A Key-Slot issue. If DTC B2190 is stored due to 1 or 2 above, it will not erase, or go to "PAST", until a known good registered Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot.   SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Infiniti vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail.

Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating. * Use CONSULT-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Other retractable hard top related DTCs may also be found stored. To restore operation: (1) close the roof fully manually; (2) erase the DTC(s); and (3) perform hard top control unit initialization.   SERVICE INFORMATION If the hydraulic unit assembly (pump assembly) needs to be tested for any reason, the convertible top should not sink or drop further than 250 mm (9.84 inches) within one (1) minute or less when opened as shown in Figure 1. - If the convertible top sinks further than 250 mm (9.84 inches) within one (1) minute or less - the pump assembly needs to be replaced. - If the convertible top does not sink further than 250 mm (9.84 inches) within one (1) minute or less - the pump assembly is OK. NOTE: This instruction supersedes the previous 15 mm measurement threshold specified in SIR video # 165. CAUTION: The convertible top should only be partially opened for service and should not be left in this position as damage may result. See this bulletin for further detail.

  SERVICE INFORMATION If one or more of these EVAP leak DTCs are stored (P0442, P0455, P0456) on a 2007 through 2011 Infiniti vehicle, a loose fuel fill cap may be the cause. Use the following resources to perform diagnostics and confirm the cause of stored DTCs. ASIST: - Appropriate Service Manual diagnostic procedures - Applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Leak Test: - With CONSULT-III plus - WORK SUPPORT >> EVAP SYSTEM CLOSE. NOTE: Use Essential Tool J-42909 or equivalent to pressurize the EVAP system. - With a "Smoke" leak detection machine. Refer to the machine's Operator's Manual for proper use. Make sure the customer is informed of the proper fuel filler cap installation.
