On 4/3/2026 heading to [XXX] on I 95 (outside of [XXX] ) traveling with traffic (3-4 lanes) I was in the middle lane going approx 74mph when on 5 separate but in close approximation (estimated within 20 mi) times, my car which was on cruise control, suddenly threw up warnings to pull over, shook my steering wheel, yanked my car toward the left lane (with traffic flowing the same way as I was) and suddenly decreased my speed to 64 mph before I could regain control! It was a beautiful, sunny day with no precipitation. Cars were swerving and beeping . My family was in the car. I stopped all cruise control and drove the remaining five hours to my destination scared out of my mind. I called local dealership, country club Chevy, dodge, jeep, Hyundai etc. at 607432-9300 and told Gavin what had occurred. I was unable to get into a dealership while I was in [XXX] for the brief time I was there. On my way home I tried cruise control on I 95 in the right hand lane all the way over so that no traffic could be on my right side. It was a beautiful day. It happened again to me, the warning lights, the decrease and speed the yank to the right the shaking steering wheel and the sudden breaking while I was in the state of [XXX] . I turned off cruise control again. I didn’t have a problem after that. When I I returned home, , I took the car in to be looked at at the dealership . They said they couldn’t find anything wrong. I contacted Hyundai motor corp at 800-523-4030. Case number 42576997 was assigned. I was put to Hyundai finance. No resolution. I contacted Hyundai Corp Office at 714-410-4382 and spoke with Mohammed. To date, as of May 7 there has been no resolution as the dealership doesn’t have access to drive this car on a 4 Lane Rd. as we live in a real area. I do not feel safe driving this car. It is going to kill someone else on the road or someone in my family. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I experienced sudden unintended acceleration which propelled me over a curb, up an embankment, over a boulder and into a fence. I could have been killed or I could have killed others because I had no control of the car. The Hyundai corporation will not acknowledge this. The car was inspected and declared a total loss and is being moved to a location where it can be stored at no cost. There was no warning. Also this exact incident occurred with a Hyundai Kona I owned. That incident occurred on January 8, 2026.

- #11736139May 6, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The cars speedometer screen and radio screen go black and sometimes flicker on and off. This makes it impossible to see the speed. Also the car stalls sometimes when this happens in traffic. The autonomous braking applies the brakes even when there is a large distance from other cars and objects to the point where it has almost caused me to get into an accident on numerous occasions. The driver attention alert comes on and off over and over again even though I’m fully focused on driving and well aware of what is going on and this sometimes happens in a sequence where all of the warning lights illuminate on dash. Sometimes all of the warning lights display on cluster after it goes black and then car says to shift to park when display goes back on causing safety concerns for me in traffic. In addition my sunroof glass is making a loud noise like it’s going to crack.

My 2021 Hyundai Tucson has experienced repeated engine-related failures associated with a knock sensor (P1326) fault that causes the vehicle to enter limp mode and lose power while driving. This issue has occurred multiple times at approximately 15,000, 17,000, 41,000, and 90,000 miles and has resulted in four separate incidents requiring towing. During these events, the vehicle suddenly loses power and cannot maintain normal driving speed, creating a hazardous condition while in traffic. The vehicle has undergone multiple repair attempts, including an ECM update and three knock sensor replacements. Despite these repairs, the issue continues to recur and no root cause has been identified. Hyundai has not provided a permanent fix and has advised continued operation of the vehicle unless the issue occurs again. This ongoing condition presents a safety concern due to the risk of sudden loss of power while driving.

- #11735597May 4, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Rear turn light visibility, turn signals are a foot off the ground and hard to see by cars following due to location on the bumper. This is only pertaining to the 4th generation Tucson (current), not any other generation. We didn't realize the issue when we bought the car, nor did we realize the placement in the bumpers. However someone stated it was hard to see the blinkers, especially in the rain. At first we thought the wiring had come undone, but then we noticed the same issue on all 2025-2026 model Tucsons. Then I noticed this video on Youtube and realized it's been a problem. This gentleman seems to have a fix, which imo should already be done, maybe Hyundai accidently missed the hookup when making the vehicle. It seems the brake lights were meant to be hooked up as blinkers and the rear horizontal line light was to be a part of the braking lights. Anyway the way the current blinkers a placed is where the backup lights should be. Please help with this, it's definitely a safety issue in the rear back and or rear quarter side panel turning of the vehicle. Visibility is very poor to say the least. The contact leased a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, another driver cut her off while in an intersection which activated the emergency brake system. As a result, the contact was hit from behind by another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt failed to secure the contact and thrusted her forward. The contact did not seek medical attention but days after the accident, the right side of her neck, right lower shoulder blade, right inner thigh, right side of her chest, left side sciatica, lower right abdomen, and lower back. The authorities arrived at the scene and a police report was filed. Despite the failure and the damage to the vehicle, the contact managed to drive the vehicle home. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,900.

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid does not have an option to turn off the beeping notification “Consider Taking a Break”. It is consistent and alarming when it does go off. It is very distracting and therefore dangerous as it goes off abruptly multiple times a day while I am driving. It is available for inspection and the dealership has attempted to find a solution but unable to. There is no warning prior to the message, it goes off beeping loudly and flashing a display of a coffee mug with a written message to consider taking a break. Please consider escalating this to the company so it can hopefully be fixed with a software update. Thank you.

4/26: I was in the turn lane and SLOWLY approaching the vehicle in front of me. I was at least 12 feet back when the emergency brake engaged causing me to fling forward in my seat. However, I did have my seatbelt on a was not physically harmed, but mentally rattled. This also caused the car behind me to almost rear me. 5/1: I was in the parking lot of a local store. A pedestrian was passing at a safe distance as I was slowly cruising towards them. The car engaged the automatic brake even though the pedestrian was clearly out of harms way. There two incidents have occurred within 2 weeks of purchase of my car. There is a feature to temporarily turn off automatic brake, but resets with each restart of the engine making it inconvenient to apply. Also, it is easy to forget to apply each time you start the car. I’ve also read since my incidents other reports of Hyundai drivers saying the disable feature does not always work and automatic brake engages. I feel that the automatic braking is a HUGE safety risk for driver, passengers, pedestrians and other vehicles on the road. I frequently drive to another state via highway to visit my mother and a now terrified to drive that distance considering all of the accelerations and decelerations involved with highway travel. I feel completely unsafe in my new vehicle. Please review and encourage a software recall that completely removes automatic brake or allows drivers the option to disable and enable at will.

I was driving on the highway in heavy traffic which was moving relatively slowly (15-30mph). I had plenty of room in front of me and was in the process of braking when the vehicle suddenly applied the breaks automatically, coming to a very abrupt stop. It threw me forward and almost caused an accident. Luckily the truck behind me was leaving enough room as well and was able to swerve out of the way and avoid hitting me. There was no need for automatic braking and it seemed very random. The incident scared me a lot and I have felt unsafe driving the car without turning this feature off each time I start the car.

- #11734990April 30, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, SEAT BELTS, WHEELS
Had an issue with driver assist radar when in complete control. Until you’re not! Brakes lock up skidding tires and causing seat belts to lock up. It happens so suddenly it scares you to the point of heart attack. This has happened: merely backing out of driveway, when accelerating in your lane with car in turn lane beside you turning right. And most recently on FL Turnpike while in stopped/slowed traffic due to emergency vehicles trying to get to scene of Naples wildfire. When I accelerated as traffic resumed at slow speed the car locks up brakes, squalling tires and slewing sideways. It startled me so much my heart was racing and I didn’t know if the car was still running or not. There was an 18 wheeler coming up behind and I was frozen not knowing what to do next. I don’t know if sensitivity can be adjusted or what it needs but my heart can’t take many more of these incidents. I will report to dealer as well. I know there is a Reddit thread about these same issues that my daughter found on researching this issue.

- #11734841April 30, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On at least three occasions, the forward collision system incorrectly determined there was an imminent collision when a car or truck was simply coming over into my lane. The Tucscon locked the brakes, bringing the car to a full stop in the middle of high-traffic roads even while the car in front was pulling away. I was unable to give the car gas to continue driving forward. On two occasions this was on an interstate, going from almost 70 mph to stop when there was no car or obstacle in front of the car. It created a very dangerous risk of being rear-ended. The car did display the message "Collision Warning" on the instrument panel, emit an audible alarm, and shook the steering wheel.

I was on the freeway about 2 minutes and the car flashed a red warning then slammed on the brakes and I flew forward. No cruise control and no buttons hit or anything automatic. Another time, I was merging to freeway on ramp (with 2 lanes merging and going to freeway). I was on the left right lane towards the on ramp and another car came speeding next to me on other the on ramp right lane. All of a sudden, my Tucson says emergency braking for about 1 to 3 seconds. slamps the brakes. I am not sure if the other speeding car made a sensor think I was going to merge into him,or him into me, or the sensors didn't detect the lane markings. It's my daily route to this ramp and it has not occurred in the past. These emergency braking incident has happened several times (4-5 times in a month) to me, usually during a highway drive similar to those above. I have to turn off the forward collsion to stop this happening and it comes back on everytime when the car starts from a off.

Sitting at a red light the vehicle seemed to almost stalled then lunged forward about eight feet almost colliding with the vehicle in front of me. To my knowledge the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer nor has the problem been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center. To my knowledge there were no warning lights, messages or symptoms. I am somewhat unfamiliar with this vehicle since I've only owned it for 5 days. I picked it up on 4-25-26.

In October 2025, while the vehicle was still under Hyundai’s 5-year warranty, an authorized Hyundai dealership diagnosed a significant electrical failure affecting the ABS/ESC system on my 2021 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was experiencing multiple dashboard warning lights, intermittent key fob malfunction, alarm system failure, and progressive electrical instability affecting safe operation. Dealer diagnostic trouble codes included C120001, C167581, and C164202, with technician notes stating “ABS sensor wiring harness fault found.” The dealership recommended replacement of the wiring harness, estimated at approximately $12,000, but no warranty repair was performed. Since the initial diagnosis, the condition has continued to worsen with additional warning lights and ongoing ABS/electrical system instability. The issue remains unresolved and continues to affect vehicle safety.

I have about 13,500 miles on my 2025 Tucson Hyundai. The screen with the speedometer and HUD constantly turns on and off so you have no idea what speed you're going, if you need fuel and several other readings. It has been repaired once. Took it back to the dealer a second time, they said there was no issue. It is still doing it, and I am making an appointment to return it to the dealer again for service. I drive on a very busy interstate daily to and from work. I feel this is a safety issue. I googled the problem and many accounts of this happening to other owners can be found with the same issue. I think Hyundai needs to issue a recall and make sure their engineering department finds the source of this and corrects the problem before someone is in an accident or just stranded on some highway.
