Approximately 4 months after purchasing our 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy we started experiencing a serious steering issue. When driving slow while making turns, either right or left whether going forward or reverse the steering wheel intermittently abruptly stops mid turn and locks with a big bang. It forces me to apply the breaks because I cannot complete the turn. After about 10-15 secs the steering wheel releases with a loud pop, and spins the opposite direction in which I’m trying to turn, leaving the wheels one way and the steering the other. At that point I’m able to regain control of the steering wheel and continue my turn and start driving but on many occasions it has caused me to almost be T-boned by other vehicles when this happens at an intersection or or hit from behind. We have taken the Vehicle to 3 different Hyundai service centers in 2 different states in the last 23 months. All claim they’re not able to replicate the issue and to bring it back if it continues which we have. It’s currently in service and has been for 2 1/2 weeks. They informed me that they plan on replacing the steering column but it’s unknown if this will fix the issue. I may still have the same issues which will further put my family at risk of harm or death if it continues and we are hit.

The contact’s employer owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The employer received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and informed that the owner that parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were on backorder. The owner had not experienced a failure.

Burns oil and I have to change it every 3K-5K miles. I add oil throughout to keep it topped off, but by around 5K miles it’s nearly black. It would be completely dry by 10K miles. Yesterday I noticed an oil drip from what I assume is a faulty gasket, which is new.

Hyundai issued recall 292 "A VEHICLES THAT FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THIS STANDARD MIGHT HAVE INCREASED RISK OF INJURY TO THIRD ROW OCCUPANTS DURING CERTAIN CRASHES INCLUDING A ROLLOVER." on January 22, 2026. As of the time of this filing, February 4, 2026, there is no remedy available. The Palisaid I own is impacted and we are unable to safely use the vehicle as intended for 3 of the 7 vehicle seats. I have contacted Hyundai Corporate and was assigned a case manager; as of February 3, 2026, his response was "I completely understand that one of your primary reasons for purchasing this vehicle was to accommodate your family using the third-row seating, and I truly apologize on behalf of HMA for the inconvenience this situation has caused. At this time, because the vehicle remains operational, we are unfortunately unable to offer compensation or an alternate vehicle until an official remedy becomes available. Please know that we recognize how frustrating this experience can be, and we appreciate your patience while we await further updates." I do not consider the vehicle "operational" when occupants of the seats may be more injured during a crash.

- #11715550February 4, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Constant and consistent Alerting (Attention) with the (steering and eye alert) icons present. NOTE: It would be helpful to understand and be told the exact sensor or type of alert (eye camera, steering input, forward camera) that triggered the alert! As it stands, every few seconds to minutes the alert states driver is not attentive. Eventually between 2-8 warnings is unrecoverable and the cruise control shuts itself off after a myriad set of warnings. No matter what is attempted the car ends the cruise control and the driver MUST maintain control at that point (decelerating from highway/interstate speeds dramatically). Myself and all family drivers experience this IMMEDIATELY after activation. Dealership has reported no trouble after 50 miles of driving (as stated). I have video of this issue and am adding them to youtube (2026 hyundai palisade cruise control fail) for others to see. This is UNSAFE and DISTRACTING! The alerts alone are enough to deactivate this (if available, but: it cannot be deactivated!) let alone decelerating from speed for "no good reason" outside of drivers DIRECT control. The only solution I HAVE is to not use cruise control and the safety features (as they are marketed to work) and negate the safety features I purchased the vehicle for.

My vehicle is burning oil at an excessive rate causing vibration when the oil is nearly depleted and an unsafe driving condition. The vehicle will burn nearly all the oil in approximately 1000 miles. This has happened repeatedly. It is widely known amongst Palisade owners and the subject of numerous online posts. In addition, the dealership has acknowledged widespread issues with an oil burning problem.

On December, 2025 I received notification from Hyundai de Puerto Rico (Sojitz de Puerto Rico Corporation) informing about the Hyundai Recall Number 283 (NHTSA Recall Number 25V-607) regarding the seat belt buckle assemblies problem (See attached notification document). On January 27, 2026 I took my Hyundai Palisade 2020 to the programed appointment at Hyundai de Cupey, Ave. Ponce de León, #1385, San Juan, PR 00926 for the inspection and replacements of my seat belts buckle assemblies. For my surprise, the service advisor Ms. Adleni Vazquez informed me that there was no such recall and that they were proceeding with an extended warranty on the vehicle seat belt assembly system. She also told me that they would only act during that warranty extension period if I could prove a malfunction of the seat belt buckle assemblies. I showed the safety recall notification letter and the action required to the service advisor, but still they denied the inspection of seat belt buckle assemblies. The advisor showed me the Hyundai de Puerto Rico instruction regarding the matter which is only to provide an extended warranty. (See attached document). My vehicle was just serviced for an ECU upgrade of the emission system which I was told was the only recall pending (See attached Service job document). Do I or my passengers need to be involved in an accident and suffer injuries or even death because my vehicle was one with the faulty buckle assemblies before I can make a claim and be provided with the needed service and remedy? I think this “extended warranty” argument used in Puerto Rico for recall 283 is a dangerous excuse for not providing the service required. Please, investigate this important safety issue and Hyundai de Puerto Rico’s noncompliance. Once again, this is a serious issue that requires a prompt remedy. Due to is physical nature, it cannot be remedied merely with an “extended warranty”. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Along with the two recalls of which I have not been contacted by Hyundai or provided any form of remedy, this is highly concerning and makes me feel extremely unsafe driving my vehicle, especially with the fact that I have small children and teenagers. My car had an issue from inception that I’ve let the dealer know about that. They still have not fixed including the fact that well I’ll be driving on certain roads are on the highway. It’ll come up with a warning telling me that I’m going the wrong way and try to engage the automatic breaking system. In addition, the second row seatbelt has been stuck and it won’t go back in. The third row seats often times try to disengage and come down. Anytime I hit a small bump or go over a speed bump even very slow. My Bluetooth goes off-line as well as the Navigation and then it comes back online within 3 to 5 minutes. Carr seems to have had a number of odd issues, including the way the engine has sounded as well as the electrical system is not engaging properly. I feel highly unsafe continuing to drive this vehicle and until all recalls and full proper analysis is conducted to remedy these issues I would want Either a full refund of the cash value that I purchased my vehicle for, a brand new vehicle at no additional charge, or a loaner vehicle until all of these issues are remedied, and then a full analysis to ensure that it meets the standards. My preference would be to get a full refund of the cash value in which I purchased my vehicle for so I can get something else that is more safe for my family.

Radiator failed, replaced. Subsequent visits showed hoses loose, retightened. Continued visits had upper radiator hose replaced. Leaks every winter requiring service visits. Hyundai has been slow with these fixes. Also recalls issues have been slow and parts generally not available long after recall issued.

I bought my vehicle almost 2 years ago with 30K miles on it. In December 2025, the car started stalling and wouldn’t run properly. I took it into the dealership and they stated that the engine was burning oil. This was at 90K miles. Hyundai refuses to fix the motor issue because I’m not the original owner. This issue would have started even before the 90K miles because the vehicle had almost used all its oil in between the normal oil change interval. They did a sludge clean and we checked the oil again after 1500 miles and it had already used over a quart of oil.

- #11713936January 28, 2026ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and jerked significantly. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, a message advising of an unknown error was displayed. The contact stated that the check engine warning light started flashing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, and the dealer performed approximately four oil consumption tests and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the engine; however, the engine failures persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure was related to the cold weather. The dealer replaced the spark plugs; however, the jerking failure increased while driving, and the vehicle felt as if the vehicle was going to stall. Additionally, the vehicle was experiencing excessive coolant consumption. The contact stated the message "Engine Overheating" was displayed while driving. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road for an hour, and coolant was added to the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was driven to the dealer at slow speeds on the expressway, but the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be serviced, and the contact was advised that the vehicle could be driven to the residence because coolant was added to the vehicle. The vehicle was driven and parked at the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was awaiting a call back. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Sub-freezing temperatures caused car not be able to start. The battery in this vehicle is less than 3 years old as it was purchased in October of 2023. It displayed a "Check ESC" message, flashed all the lights and I could not hear the engine crank / turn over at all.

- #11713271January 25, 2026SUSPENSION
The vehicle continues to feel very bumpy when we drive. Even if I stand in the 2nd row and press up and down, it makes a squeaky, sometimes loud rattling / knocking sound. I have taken this to the dealer multiple times and they tired to tighten shock absorbers and the padding around it but the problem hasn't gone. They ask me to leave the car with them without getting a loaner which is hard to do as we need the car. They have made it hard to get the problem solved, not taking ownership and have denied any issue with the suspension despite multiple complaints by consumers in online forums and what i have personally experienced.

- #11713199January 25, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, STEERING
The vehicle engine shuts off out of nowhere, unable to change/switch between gears for 2-3 minutes after stopping at a red light, stop sign, or during heavy traffic, with no activation of the Idle-stop-system before the incident. During the incident, the vehicle's steering was not able to turn. I have to keep my foot on the brake pedal for a while. After the second incident, I managed to drive the vehicle carefully and slowly to the dealership, but I was told there was no problem with the vehicle. So, I requested to take a drive with a mechanic, and the engine shut off in the middle of the street while slowing down for the third time. The dashboard reads "Auto stop is off." Shift to P or N and start engine manually. vehicle still at the dealership for 5 days.

- #11713015January 23, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN
I am reporting a recurring, life-threatening electronic failure in my 2023 Hyundai Palisade. On [XXX], while turning into an intersection, the vehicle's brakes spontaneously engaged, stalling the car in the path of oncoming traffic. During this event, multiple critical safety systems failed simultaneously, including the headlights and horn, leaving me unable to warn other drivers. A "violent" surge was required to clear the intersection, risking a high-speed collision. Similar spontaneous recurrences occurred on [XXX] and [XXX], and most recently on [XXX]. These incidents are characterized by "phantom braking," total loss of propulsion, and a complete lack of interior/exterior electronic response. Technical Evidence: Diagnostic scans revealed 16 distinct fault codes (including C161608, C181287, and U012687) involving the Chassis Control Module, Electronic Control Unit (ECU), and communication buses. Despite these logged codes, Hyundai and the dealership have repeatedly returned the vehicle to me, stating they "cannot replicate" the issue, thereby dismissing a documented electronic record of failure. Arbitration Status: I entered into BBB Auto Line Arbitration (Case #[XXX]). Hyundai has contested the claim by attempting to manipulate the "start date" of the defect to February 2024 to avoid Lemon Law statutes, despite dealer records confirming the first occurrence in August 2023. As of January 13, 2026, the dealership is again attempting to force me to take delivery of the unrepaired vehicle. This vehicle is a "phantom" safety hazard. The manufacturer’s inability to replicate a logged electronic fault during a brief test drive does not mitigate the extreme risk of sudden braking and power loss at highway speeds. I am requesting a formal investigation into these specific fault codes and the electronic integrity of this model.
