2023 HYUNDAI PALISADE VIN [XXX] Vehicle rear shock absorbers failed. Steering and drivability adversely impacted. Many many many complaints online document these defective parts and Hyundai's failure to resolve problems and supply properly functioning parts. Hyundai customer service is useless and claims no information on replacement part availability or time. Now that Hyundai has their newest problem of killing babies in their defective third row seats, I would have thought Hyundai would resolve outstanding issues. NHTSA needs to intervene now. The car started having a sound that sounded like a bowling ball rolling around in the back. I emptied trunk space and had tires checked but there was no issue. I called the dealership and they stated they knew what it was because it was a common problem in the Hyundai Palisade. I made an appointment to come in and have it fixed, along with a safety recall for rear seatbelts. The appointment was made in early January 2026 to bring the car in on 2/2/26. When I arrived they had no record of my appointment and told me I could bring it back another day. I refused because the car has a safety issue as well as sounding like the wheel is coming off. They asked me to leave it and told me it would be a few days because they would need to order parts. The next day I got a call saying the parts for the safety recall were backordered but the suspension repair would be done by 2/5/26. I called on 2/9/26 because I had not gotten any information and they stated the parts for both repairs were backordered. I asked how long and they said 2-4 weeks. It has been 7 weeks and I still have no car. When I call to check (they have never reached out to me for an update unless I call them) I am told parts are still backordered and there is no projected date. I have now made 2 car payments on a car I can't drive. I have no rental vehicle and was not offered one. The dealership seems unconcerned.

My car has been at the dealership since Feb 2, 2026 and there has been no repair. When I inquire I am told there is a back order for parts. No one updates me unless I reach out. There is no help for a vehicle to drive or date when recall will be fixed.

We had two incidences with in a week. 1. My wife was at a stop light getting ready to go through an intersection when the light turned green she pressed on the gas pedal and the vehicle would not go it just flashed a few codes and a warning came up about a possible condition that occurred. She had to place the vehicle in park shut it off start it up again and put it into drive mode in order to get going again all this while in traffic. We made an appointment with Hyundai of Anchorage but they couldnt find a problem they updated the soft ware and gave the car back to us. 2. The second time it did this was about a week later. My wife went shopping and got into the car to leave, she started the car and put it into gear and it would not move when giving it gas it flashed some more codes at that point she called me. I restarted the vehicle got it moving and when I came to a stoplight with five vehicles ahead of me the light finally turned green vehicles started moving but when I went to move the car would not go and there was a vehicle behind me a ways back that was approaching rather fast. As my wife did before I had to shut the vehicle off restart it and put it in drive in order to go.

The vehicle is experiencing a transmission failure that causes sudden jerking, hesitation, and loss of smooth acceleration when the engine reaches approximately 1,500–2,000 RPM. When driving under normal conditions on both city roads and highways, the transmission appears to slip or fail to properly engage or shift gears within this RPM range. When this occurs, the vehicle jerks violently and momentarily loses power, creating a dangerous driving situation. This happens while accelerating in traffic and when attempting to maintain speed. The sudden hesitation and loss of proper transmission engagement creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may not respond properly to acceleration, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or crash, especially when merging onto highways or driving in traffic. This issue occurs regularly and has become progressively worse over time, indicating a potential transmission defect rather than a one-time malfunction. The problem was inspected and documented by Bill Luke Marana dealership in Tucson, Arizona. During their inspection, diagnostic data showed abnormal transmission input and output speed readings, confirming irregular transmission operation. The dealership marked the concern as requiring immediate attention. There were no consistent warning lights prior to the failure, despite the severity of the symptoms. The vehicle and the dealership diagnostic documentation are available for inspection upon request.

2020 Hyundai Palisade , burning through quarts of oil at an unusual rate. No oil leaks can be found. SUV is only driven around town. No long mileage trips, no out of state trips exc. This is an extreme problem that should be looked into for this year make a model. I thought Hyundai was going to be my forever go to. Unfortunately after all the issues I’m experiencing, never again will I get a vehicle that’s a Hyundai brand.

My [XXX] daughter and I were sitting in a parking lot while we waiting for my other child in an appointment. She was walking back and forth between the front of the car and the back of the car. Then all of a sudden I heard screaming and I looked back and she was completely folded in half in the 3rd row seats that were collapsed on her. I jumped back to try and get her out, which I couldn’t, and it took me several seconds to figure out which buttons to push to open the seats back up. I took her to the doctor and they said that really lucky based on how she folded in the seat. I knew there was a recall, but I did not realize that a [XXX] girl died from this on Friday. There have been several incidents where the seats started to close by themselves on our car seats (and the car seats didn’t prevent them from closing), but luckily I was there right when it happened and was able to push a buttons to stop it (again, NOT intuitive on which buttons to push). None of the buttons are intuitive on how they function. The seats have also closed in on my older children before, but they were able to stop them or jump out of the seats in time. 2026 Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy Walk-in Auto Cycle crushed my adult daughter's legs between second row seat and the driver's seat. This occurred after my daughter took her seat (in the 2nd row) and our [XXX] grandson (sitting behinder her in the 3rd row seat) inadvertently pressed the "walk-in" button on the back of his mother's seat. Once the auto-cycle started, she did not know how to stop it. This is a completely unacceptable design as the vehicle will move seats in auto-cycle despite the fact that there is a person sitting in the seat. I reported this problem to the dealer and to Hyundai Corporation as a safety issue. I insisted that the vehicle design should be immediately changed and that they treat this as a safety issue. Hyundai engaged with a third party inspector (EAA Bosch) to review the vehicle and the design. Hyundai's final disposition on this to me (sent on Feb. 27, 2026 stated: "...there is no evidence of a defect or malfunction contributing to the reported condition with the seat, at this time. Therefore, while we sympathize with you about the incident, in the absence of a finding of a defect, Hyundai will not be accepting any liability or offering any financial assistance." We asked Hyundai to fix this problem before someone got hurt. Yesterday, (March 16, 2026) we learned that a [XXX] girl was killed by one of these power seats with what appears to be the identical issue. Last year while traveling on vacation, my family was on the interstate crusing at approximately 70 MPH when the Hyundai Palisade suddenly started shaking and slowing down. It was shaking so bad, I ended up having to turn on my flashers because the vehicle would not accelerate up hill while pressing on the gas pedal. Thankfully, I was able to exit the highway and located a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away in Jasper, AL. The dealership service department was very nice and indicated my engine oil was low. I could not figure out why this happened because we have always changed the oil at recommended intervals but once the dealership changed the oil, the check engine light turned off and we were able to proceed on our trip. Last night, we were traveling from [XXX] international airport back to [XXX] and the same pattern started all over again. After conducting some internet research based on the 2020 Palisade SEL, it appears this is a common issue for vehicles just under 100k miles. The reason I am reporting this is because Hyundai Corporate should do the right thing in this situation, by offering to replace the engine since I am within the 100k mile powertrain warranty period. I plan to take the vehicle to my local dealership today becuase there are two outstanding recalls, one of which is considered more serious due to a seatbelt latch. We waited over a month to schedule this service and the local dealership cancelled our appointment and didnt even offer to contact us to tell us this. The seatbelt issue is still not resolved and now we need Hyundai to perform oil consumption testing because the vehicle should not be burning this amount of oil while driving at speeds over 55MPH or over. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2026 Hyundai Palisade with fewer than 5,000 miles. Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 stating that the second and third row power seats may not respond properly when contacting an occupant or object. Prior to receiving the recall notice, I had already taken the vehicle to the dealership three separate times regarding problems with the rear seats and unexplained battery failures. Each time I was told nothing was wrong with the seats. The first incident occurred when my child was seated in the rear seat. I attempted to move the seat backward to create more space, but instead of opening properly the seat continued moving in a way that began closing toward my child and would not stop. I was able to quickly remove my child before the seat fully closed. The seat then continued moving on its own. The second incident involved the vehicle battery completely dying without warning. When AAA came to jump start the vehicle, I heard the rear seat motors operating mechanically even though no one was using the seats. The third incident occurred when the battery died again and AAA was called a second time. During the jump start I again heard mechanical movement from the rear seat motors. I had to pay to replace the battery even though the vehicle was nearly new. I informed the dealership multiple times that I believed the issue was related to the seat system, but they told me they could not find anything wrong. Given that Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 regarding malfunctioning power seats, I am extremely concerned that this defect presents a serious safety hazard, particularly to children in the rear seats. I believe the seat system may also be draining the battery due to unintended motor operation.

Small rock chip in windshield and the next day when turning on the defrost a long crack formed that is approximately 10-12 inches. The windshield is very flimsy and driving with a cracked windshield is a safety issue. The dealer confirmed that several others have called with windshield repairs and that they don't do the work themselves and told me to call safelite.

Brandon Hyundai sold me this vehicle with an active stop sale. On February 20, 2026, I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade from the dealership. After taking delivery of the vehicle, I discovered that the VIN associated with the vehicle was subject to an active manufacturer stop-sale related to a safety recall for which no remedy was available at the time of delivery. This critical information was not disclosed to me during the sales process and was not reflected in any documentation provided at closing, including the buyer’s order or “We Owe” form. As a consumer, I relied on the dealership to comply with applicable safety requirements and to be transparent about the condition and status of the vehicle being sold. Upon discovering the stop-sale status, I returned to the dealership the very next day, on Saturday February 21, 2026, to address the issue. During that visit, I spoke with both the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager. At that time, I was told that there was nothing that could be done because I had already signed the contract and “the ink was dry.” The seriousness of the concern I raised was initially dismissed. As I am sure you know, the contract should be void when selling a vehicle in violation of the law. Both of these managers promised me that the vehicle had undergone a safety check prior to delivery, which is not true, as later discussed. It was not until the following Monday morning, February 23, 2026, after escalating the issue again and speaking with another manager, that the dealership agreed to reverse the transaction. On that second attempt, the deal was unwound and my trade-in vehicle and down payment were returned to me. While I acknowledge that the dealership ultimately corrected the situation, the fact remains that the vehicle should never have been delivered to a consumer while under an active stop-sale condition. The initial refusal to address the issue when it was first raised with management was deeply concerning.

The 2nd and 3rd row power-folding seats in my 2026 Hyundai Palisade do not detect the presence of a person or object when automatically folding. The seats continue to fold even if someone is sitting on the seat, creating a serious entrapment and injury risk and even death, especially for children. I reported this safety concern multiple times to the selling dealer (Hyundai of Kirkland), but they stated they could not disable the auto-fold function or provide a fix. Hyundai has now issued Recall 296 related to this defect after a reported child fatality, which confirms the safety risk I previously raised. I purchased this vehicle to transport my newborn child and this defect creates a severe safety hazard. I am filing this complaint to document the issue and the lack of a timely remedy.

My vehicle is affected ny the ejection mitigation recall. I have small children who sit in my third row of which hyundai corporate advised is not safe. Hyundai has no foreseeable mitigation for this and is leaving me with an unusable third row resulting in a huge issue with transporting my family. I am also pregnant. After 4 weeks of back and forth with hyundai they have refused to buy back my vehicle or come up with a solution. How many more children need to die at the hands of hyundai? I want resolution for my family on a vehicle corporate as well as my local dealer ship advised to not put small children in the third row. Corporate has refused a buy back and has offered no solution. I cannot trade this vehicle either because their is a stop sale
