Transmission failure. It is available for inspection upon request. While driving on major highways, I could have been at risk of a crash. I took the vehicle to Honda to confirm the transmission belt stretched. The insurance refused to inspect it. No warning lamps, messages, or other. I went over a railroad crossing and suddenly heard the transmission grinding gears.

There was a light on the vehicle with the sensor P2337 & parking brake sensor and I took the vehicle to a garage who evaluated the car, cleared the light. They stated if the light came back on to return to the dealer. While I was driving the car, the lights returned when the car suddenly lost acceleration while driving the day after the licensed mechanic had evaluated it and stated it was fine. I was on a 55MPH highway and was able to brake at the nearest stoplight by placing the car in neutral. It would not move forward or reverse or engage in gears. I turned off the car, placed in neutral, and pushed the car with my wife pushing as well as steering the car into the nearest safe area. I had it towed to the Honda. The transmission was cracked all the way down the side and fluid had metal in it. The dealer inspected the vehicle and told me that the transmission (CVT) needs to be replaced and that it is a known issue, though my VIN is not included. I requested from Honda an expansion of VIN.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the CVT transmission suddenly failed after approximately 50 miles of driving. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the transmission before the vehicle lost motive power. There were no warning lights. The contact coasted to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the CVT transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Cape Girardeau Honda (385 Siemers Dr, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701); who confirmed the first dealer’s diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired because a replacement transmission was difficult to find. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 98,982.

On [XXX], the vehicle unexpectedly shut down while I was driving. After having the car towed to Honda of Fort Myers for inspection, I was informed that the ground wire had been tampered with—something typically associated with prior accident damage. This is deeply concerning as I was not made aware of any such damage or tampering at the time of purchase. Additionally, I was charged $738 to retrieve my vehicle from Honda of Fort Myers. Despite multiple attempts to contact your Customer Care department, including a call where I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, I have yet to receive any meaningful assistance or follow-up. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, to which I received a response from JP directing me to a Carfax report that does not address the actual issue at hand. For your reference, the vehicle has only had one oil change since purchase, which was performed through Kia of Cape Coral. I am requesting immediate attention to this matter and a resolution to hold the dealership accountable for selling a vehicle with undisclosed damage or tampering. Thank you. My vehicle has the check engine light on due to problems in the fuel tank emissions system. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer on more than 7 occasions and they have not provided a solution. The vehicle is expelling gases through the fuel tank cap and has an excessively bad smell of gasoline.

While I was driving, my sunroof on my 2025 Honda HRV EXL exploded. There was nothing that hit it or caused the sunroof to break. I know this due to there being no rock or material inside the area below the sunroof. Also, I would have heard an additionally sound if there were other objects involved, but instead it was one loud crash. I was able to get into contact with a Honda dealership in San Diego and they told me that someone had brought their vehicle in about a month ago for that same issue. I also did some research and found that previous years (2024/2023) Honda HRV's and CRV's have had similar issues. I took my car to Honda to get it fixed today and asked them to inspect it for a manufacturer error and hopefully replace it free of charge since this vehicle was purchased in April 2025. They told me that I would have to pay for the damage and file a complaint with corporate. I compared a picture of my sunroof to sunroofs from previous owners' vehicles that have also claimed that it simply "exploded" and they look identical. A picture of my sunroof and a sunroof that was hit by a rock or other debris do not look the same at all.

Started vehicle and it lit up with every warning imaginable. Dealership said it's the Honda Sensing unit is defective. After reviewing online, it certainly seems everyone's unit is defective.. Now we were quoted 3k to fix safety related stuff. Can't afford to fix so now, just driving it until it crashes! Woohoo fun! And no recall!

Rear glass shattered for no reason. Heard this is a big issue with Hondas & Acuras. Dealership almost tried to make us go through our own insurance even though we bought it 2 days ago.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a serious safety issue affecting Honda vehicles — specifically the widespread failure of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module — and Honda's failure to issue a recall despite extensive evidence and customer reports. A recent YouTube video titled "Why Honda Hasn’t Recalled This Dangerous Problem" [XXX] ) highlights that many Honda owners are experiencing identical issues: ABS warning lights appearing on the dashboard, inconsistent braking behavior, and in some cases, total brake failure. This is a major safety hazard, especially in emergency braking scenarios or on wet or slippery roads. I personally experienced this issue with my own Honda vehicle. After taking it to a Honda dealership, I was quoted $3,000 to replace the defective ABS module — a steep and unfair out-of-pocket expense for what clearly appears to be a design or manufacturing defect. The dealership acknowledged that this is a common problem, yet I was told there is no recall, leaving me with the financial burden and a compromised vehicle. From numerous reports, it's evident that this issue spans across different Honda models and production years. Yet, Honda continues to ignore the risk, even though a faulty ABS system directly compromises vehicle control and passenger safety. I respectfully urge the NHTSA to conduct a formal investigation into these ABS module failures and compel Honda to issue a recall and reimburse affected owners. Allowing these vehicles to remain on the road in unsafe condition poses a danger not only to Honda drivers but to everyone sharing the road with them. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety matter. Please feel free to contact me if any additional information is needed. I was driving to work when suddenly my car lost motor function and just stopped, despite me pushing the gas pedal. This has happened to me at least 4 times now since owning the car for less than two years. I have almost been rear-ended each time. This time, however, my car did not want to start back up again. It flashed the battery and oil light on my dash and proceeded to tell me to hit the brake and push button to start (even though it was running), so I turned the vehicle off and attempted to start it again like I have in the past when encountering this issue. When I went to re-start the car, it sputtered and wouldn't start until I waited and tried again. I am very concerned, as I have a dog that I have in the backseat and if I get rear-ended, I will sue if there are injuries. I want a call about this immediately, as it is often pushed aside and I am fed up.

In November 2022, before I even drove off the lot, when I noticed and asked about a rattling noise coming from the passenger-side front window, I was told it was normal because it’s a brand-new car. Within a few hundred miles, I began to experience issues with the car, felt the electrical problems and car felt shaky and unstable. As this continued, I’ve received a reminder from Honda about the three years of service and to schedule an appointment with a certified dealer. And I did, this is also when brought up the fact that I feel and experiences issues with the car, but it remained ignored. Fast-forward to Spring 2023, issues worsen, while driving with a minor in a rear-facing car seat, I heard a loud noise that sounded like gunfire. It took a moment to realize that the rear windshield had suddenly shattered without a warning. This incident caused severe emotional distress, especially given the presence of a minor child in the vehicle. Since May 2023, the certified dealer failed to resolve the ongoing and swishing wind noise coming from the rear. This left us and our child with no safe, no reliable transportation on forward. Then, the vehicle began to turn off its monitors and exhibit more electrical malfunctions, along with engine problems. I continued bringing the vehicle in and its complimentary services and routine maintenance, reporting the problems each time, but nothing was ever resolved. Throughout the years the issues continue to worsen. Most recently, the front windshield cracked spontaneously, and within a few weeks again heard the gunfire, at that time around the sunroof, exploded suddenly and shattered without any external impact or warning. That day I’ve re-routed from and to the local dealer, slowly with the hazard lights as the shattered glass began to spread. Same day the dealer accepted the vehicle, for warranty repairs, service, further complimentary inspection that revealed even more issues. But soon after this dealer refused... [see attached]

I have brought the vehicle into the dealership multiple times due to dangerous behavior involving the Honda Sensing system. The vehicle has attempted to steer out of lanes, and shown repeated safety warnings related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). Despite these serious issues, the dealership repeatedly tells me that “no codes were found” and refuses to provide full diagnostic records or confirmation that proper factory scan tools (HDS/i-HDS) were used. I suspect they may be clearing codes or failing to document the issues appropriately. The problem is intermittent but dangerous, and I am very concerned it may lead to a crash or serious injury. Honda has not resolved this, and I believe this is a widespread safety defect that deserves further investigation. Most recently, while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly applied the brakes without any obstacle or warning, creating a highly dangerous situation. This incident was alarming and could have resulted in a serious accident. Since that event, the vehicle has continued, from time to time, to display warning messages related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These alerts occur sporadically and do not appear to be triggered by any identifiable driving condition. The dealership does not want to look at the car again for this problem and is trying to tell me I have to deal with Honda directly who is not escalating the issue even after multiple request as I fear for my safety and that of anyone in the vicinity of the vehicle.
