I am writing to express concern about the steering of my 2024 Honda CR-V (Sport Touring trim). The vehicle was purchased new in September, with about 3,800 miles accumulated so far. When driving at 40 mph or higher in a straight line, there is persistent resistance in the steering wheel. It sticks when making slight straight line corrections. I included lane driving assistance in the "problem parts" section here not knowing if there is a connection. Not only is there resistance, but frequently the steering will suddenly jerk to either side. This is very slight and has not caused a major straight line deviation, but I know this should not occur and for all I know can get worse. I have repeated these circumstances while using and not using any lane assistance. No warning lamps or messages have appeared. I am taking the vehicle to my dealer during the week of 12/11, so no inspections as of yet. I have read NHTSA is investigating nearly identical complaints with 2022-23 models and wanted to add my concerns about the '24 model year.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the system was independently disabled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the fuel injectors were defective. The mechanic informed the contact that if the vehicle had been driving at the time of the failure, the vehicle would not be able to exceed 10 MPH. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.

The 2018 Honda Crv driver side mirror replacement parts are.too magnified than the original mirror when purchased the vehicle. The passenger side mirror is this correct mirror as originally purchased the vehicle. It's a safety concern as it is constant balancing of looking into a magnified glass mirror and then a more distant one and causes dizziness. Honda can replace the part but the part is the incorrect (too magnified) mirror and should be an expedited recall.

- #11559215December 8, 2023FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving down the interstate, I had automatic cruise control set at around 70-73 mph, there were few cars on the road and none in front of me. It was dark outside, and one a particular spot, road seemed to have a slight/gradual dip, while going thru this section, vehicle’s emergency braking started flashing and signaling to brake. There was no one in front of me, and it seems as if sensor malfunctioned/received a false positive indication. Luckily, there was no one behind me and I was able to take control of Car and speed it back up

Steering wheel gets “sticky” and makes it hard to steer. Almost over corrected because it was stuck on the highway. Took to the dealership and it needs a new steering rack, which is on back order.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal to make a lane change, the vehicle revved up and hesitated before gaining forward momentum. The contact stated he heard an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that it sounded as if the electric hybrid propulsion system had shut off. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure to accelerate was intermittent and occurred when he was on the highway and was depressing the accelerator pedal to gain speed. Additionally, the contact stated that he observed that the vehicle would start independently and that the power door locks would fail to operate as needed. The contact stated that on several occasions after turning off the vehicle and entering the residence the contact heard the vehicle emitting a remote start beep. The contact stated that he approached the vehicle and the vehicle had independently started. The contact also became aware that the battery was drained intermittently, and the vehicle needed to be jumpstarted. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact had not retrieved the vehicle from the dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the rear passenger's side of the vehicle collapsed inadvertently. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact noticed that the rear passenger's side wheel had detached and rotated 90 degrees into the wheel well. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the vehicle had failed the recall inspection test. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was beyond repair and could be repurchased by the manufacturer per the recall remedy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

2023 Sport Hybrid CR-V drove fine up until the first service. This was completed around 10k miles when my maintenance minder popped up at 15%. When the car was returned I noticed that the steering wheel felt "sticky" at times when driving, which usually occurred when driving straight. When trying to make slight adjustments in order to correct myself to stay straight, I have to apply more force to loosen the steering wheel which seems like it is catching on something. The excess force applied causes the car to make a jerking/jumping motion in either direction once it breaks free which then requires a quick adjustment in the opposite direction. So far this situation hasn't caused me to swerve into an adjacent lane hitting another car. This situation seems to occur more frequently when going 60+ MPH. However, this has still occurred to me while just driving around town at lower speeds, around 40 MPH.

Vehicle steering sticks at highway speeds, making it where extra force is momentarily needed to steal the vehicle. The steering then unsticks causing over steering of the vehicle. On 12/6/2023 the vehicle was taken to the Honda dealership, the dealership replicated the problem and suggested a steering rack replacement. On 12/07/2023 Honda tech line advised the dealership not to do the repairs as the steering issue was normal and not a safety concern. The dealership advised I would need to conduct a ride along with a corporate service person and have them approve the repairs if they felt it was needed. This steering issue has caused my vehicle to depart from the lane several times while driving and is unsafe. I will have documentation from the dealership after other repairs are made to the engine involving fuel system issues. The vehicle is currently at the dealership pending repairs.

When driving on the highway it is most noticable,It feels like the power steering quits working. It makes it hard to steer. When it does steer easily it is easy to over correct making an accident more likely.Hopefully my Honda dealer will stand behind it. So far over the phone they pretend like it doesn't exist.

When driving the vehicle in the rain, there is water running inside of the driver's side door. The problem is evidenced by the sound of running water originating from the inside of the driver's side door. The issue was checked and verified by the dealer who removed the driver's side roof molding and sealed a spot by the roof molding clip. The issue was not resolved so the the dealer now states that the issue is inherent in ALL 2023 CRVs so there is nothing they can do about it. With that much water running within the door, there may be a potential for corrosion and possible structural failure of the door components.

- #11559013December 7, 2023UNKNOWN OR OTHER, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The actual component or system is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for inspection. The safety issue is that the vehicle will drift into another lane even though both green lane indicators are illuminated posing a risk to myself and other drivers. The dealer mechanics stated that they could not verify or reproduce the problem. I reported the issue to Honda USA but they stated that they had no technical staff available that could provide information on the subject and that I would have to go back to the dealer. The dealer mechanics were unable to detect or resolve any problems with either system despite multiple attempts. Both the LKA and LDW error lights with instructions to "see dealer" had come on multiple times before the safety incidents. On a possibly related note, the Back Up Guidance System does not work on occasion and when that happens, the navigation system is very slow to come on. The navigation system comes on eventually after about 2 blocks of driving. I asked the dealership if they could check the software or perhaps any RAM memory that may exist as the problem seems to be related to a slow system response which would explain why the system checks out OK when analyzed by the dealer mechanics because the systems may seem to be working properly when the vehicle is parked but not working within their design parameters. They stated that there was no way to check the software or memory. The problem has occurred several times to date but I am only able to list one date on the form so I used 11/17/2023.

While driving at highway speeds, small steering corrections take significant effort due to a sticking of the steering wheel. It is noticeable at speeds above 50 mph and as you slow down still noticeable down to 20 mph. In town driving below 40 mph, there is no sticking. Two hands on the wheel are required to smoothly get past the sticking. A 1/4" movement of the steering wheel takes some effort. If driving with one hand, over correction is common because of the extra for required to get past the sticking. No warning lamps illuminated. I will be visiting the dealership this week. The stickiness became evident after driving the first 2500 miles.

The steering is very hard and sticking making it difficult to drive if you have the lane departure on the steering wheel gets locked and in position and is difficult to correct and stay in your lane . Contacted the dealer they are not sure what causing the problem but the vehicle is dangerous to steer and extra force is needed to correct any and all steering movements. Very difficult to stay in your lane especially when at speeds over 55 mph

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving on the highway at approximately 65 MPH, the "Brake" warning light illuminated, and the vehicle independently slowed to 30 MPH. The contact stated once the vehicle slowed the "Brake" warning light disappeared and the contact was able to depress the accelerator pedal and regain forward momentum and speed. The contact stated that the failure had occurred before. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE22003 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

The power steering feels "sticky" or "lumpy". While driving straight with the lane keep assist systems turned off, making normal small corrections to maintain direction, the steering wheel yields small barriers to the steering wheel movement. The barriers (or lumps or stickiness) can be overcome by input pressure but it does not feel normal compared to any previous vehicle I have driven. This happens an all speeds, all weather conditions, on all different roadways. However sometimes it is more pronounced than others. Have not noticed a pattern to this. It is a complaint because, well, steering is important! The dealership evaluated this complaint and the result was "cannot duplicate complaint". 2023 Honda CRV Sport Touring. Odometer = 14000 miles. Complaint started around maybe 5000 mile or sooner.
