I was in a very low speed fender bender and hit the vehicle in front of me square in the tail end. The airbag needlessly deployed leaving me with a burn and disabled my vehicle. It was a collision that should have been driven away from after the exchange of information. Instead my vehicle which has very little damage required a tow truck die to the deployed airbag.

- #11656147April 22, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving down a main road, with no other vehicles or obstacles around/in front of me, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) beeped/flashed and my car came to almost a dead stop in the middle of the road. This happened without warning, or any previous warning/issues. Luckily no accident happened, as I don't believe a vehicle was behind me (but this could've gone horribly wrong had there been). It was a very windy day. I took it to a Honda dealership the same week, they found no issues and also could not reproduce this. I called Honda Customer Service, who was apologetic, but really no help, and only filed a complaint for me. I see this as being a high potential safety hazard for accidents, etc., and it makes me nervous now driving my vehicle, especially since this is something I cannot turn off. I wanted to file a report here as well, in hopes that investigations are happening for this issue.

When driving the electronic steering is sticky. To make slight adjustments it feels like you have to break it free and it results in an over correction of the steering. This has not been confirmed because the problem is not always present.

It feels difficult to steer at times, almost takes more effort. I am concerned it will continue becoming more difficult and result in an accident. Yes it’s available for inspection. Being unable to steer properly puts my safety, passengers safety, and the safety of my surroundings at risk. Unsure if it’s been reproduced at a service center. It has been inspected, not for this issue. There are absolutely no warning lamps or symptoms prior.

Started car to leave from work and as I drove out of parking lot, every warning light came flashing on and car would not accelerate over 20mph and kept fluctuating the speed up to 20..luckily not too far from dealer and drove straight there. They say it looks like Throttle Body needs to be replaces. Have had issues with this car making noise between 30-35mpg since I have had and it still not diagnosed...now this.

- #11656026April 22, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER
The windshield washer system on my new Honda CRV is not operating to effectively clean the windshield. The washer fluid is sprayed from nozzles on the windshield wipers, only briefly at the far left end of the wiper travel arc. On the driver’s side, the washer fluid sprays only on the far left two inches of the windshield, which the wiper does not contact. The passenger’s side of the windshield, receives no sprayed washer fluid (the fluid sprays only at the end of the wiper travel arc, in a narrow band in the middle portion of the windshield). Both wipers simply smear any dirt/debris on the dry windshield making visibility worse. I now carry a spray bottle and paper towels in my vehicle so I can pull over to clean the windshield when necessary. The windshield washer system on my vehicle is available for inspection. The windshield washer does not effectively clean the windshield, since the washer fluid is not sprayed over the entire windshield. The dry wipers simply smear any dirt or debris on the windshield making visibility worse. Specifically, the area in the driver’s line of sight is not effectively cleaned, creating a safety hazard. The vehicle windshield washer was inspected by the dealer’s service department, which also inspected other CRVs on the dealer’s lot, all of which exhibited the same issue. The District Manager is also aware of this issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No No warning messages or indications were evident. The dealer never mentioned this issue, although it has been a function of a new windshield washer design introduced in the 2023 CRVs, and mentioned in many online complaints from CRV owners since 2023. After driving the vehicle for approximately one hour on the freeway, the steering begins to feel jerky (sticky), requiring greater force to steer car. It is almost like fighting against the lane assist feature but that feature is turned off. This does not happen while driving shorter distances around town.

3 times now the automatic breaks have activated for no reason. The last time (last thurdsay) was a severe brake and thank god no one was near us cause it would have been a severe accident. We took our car to local honda dealership today and they said they could find nothing wrong). We are very nervous to drive the car as this is a real saftey issue, the car only started doing this recently and we have owned car since 2020.

UNKNOWN. On 4/13/25 morning, I was with my wife driving towards a park and our car decelerated suddenly from 37 miles to 20 miles and then slowed down. Luckily no driver behind us was close otherwise the car would have crashed. We pulled over to the side of the road and shut off the engine. Restarted and the car seemed to run normal. The dealer who sold this car checked on 4/16/25 and they could not find any problem and asked to bring back if it happens again. We are totally speechless and don't know what to do next.

- #11655684April 20, 2025STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I recently purchased my 2025 Honda CRV from the dealership January. I was driving with my 2025 Honda CRV and I noticed that the lane keep assist was having the ping pong affect when I first picked it up but I didn't really think too much about it. I assume my vehicle just needed some drive time since it was brand new and it was the first time it was on the highway. I noticed that this function was also causing the wheel to be very stiff. I know this system is a driving assistant and is not meant to take away from actual driving and paying attention to the road. But this week the system made an over correction and caused my vehicle turn into a guardrail on the highway. The road was straight, the day was clear and the lines on the lanes were very visible. There shouldn't have been an issue. I was pulled into the guardrail on the driver's side. I was with my girlfriend, her [XXX] son and my friend at the time. Everyone was a bit shaken up, I never had that happen before. It was primarily cosmetic damage to the vehicle and no other vehicles or property was damaged. I wasn't aware there was a steering recall on this vehicle until after the incident, and the recall was posted during the time I was finalizing the paperwork with my dealership for purchasing this vehicle. I haven't taken it to a dealership since getting the vehicle because they prepared everything prior to delivery or picking it up from the port in my case. I have filed a claim with my insurance company and hopefully the vehicle can be inspected for steering issues, to include the lane keep assist. I didn't get any warnings from the vehicle during the incident and I did notice that the steering is overly controlled by the adaptive cruise control when I try to make a turn in my own lane. I first noticed this issue in October of 2023. When approaching the passenger side of my 2016 fwd Honda Cr-v it would unlock without touching the door or the key fob. This caused my car to be left unlocked multiple times without noticing it which is a major safety concern. Additionally I would go to get in the driver's seat and before the car was on the seat adjusted itself to the full upright position. Those two issues paired with the battery dying 7 times in the 8 years I have had it makes me think the electric is failing and causing the battery to constantly run which drains it. One time when the battery was not working they said it was the starter and charged $700 to fix it yesterday this is still happening. Another time this left me in dangerous situation when returning from work travel to the airport over an hour from my home and my car not starting. I had to call a tow truck to get it jumped. I called a Honda service center and the person I spoke with had never heard of these issues before. There are no warning messages when this is happening. I do not have $1000 for them to look into it.

I want to announce that is going to be 78 DAYS on Monday 21st of this month! Since I discovered after the recall repair done at authorized Honda dealership on Jan the 15th. I'm a vehicle inspector and have documented and recorded on live video on the steering problem that this vehicle that we have owned on new conditions. Honda and even the arbitrator according to them I don't have enough evidence for this vehicle to be re-repaired again. On California lemon law anything that has been more than a month qualifies for a replacement or a refund. The problem is that the dealership states that is normal operation standards to them. I need a 3rd party inspection or an attorney that can represent, we have solid evidence that after the recall repair still has the same issue. I'm a nobody without help. Contacted BAR as well. I need someone that investigates deeply what's going on with Honda of America. This vehicle needs to be taken to a Lab and diagnosed. We're going to take it again Monday the 21 to diag job in Spreen Honda of Loma Linda. Please help!

In January 2023 our vehicle began having numerous issues with sensors, alarms, door locks, the car would turn itself on and drain the battery overnight and at times would not shut off without pulling the main fuse. Through research online it was clear that the problem was the Body Control Module (BCM). There are many, many reports online of the 2018 CRV having this problem, so I took it to the dealer and they had never heard of the issue. They tried to do diagnostics but had no way to determine if it was the BCM. Finally, I asked them to just replace the BCM even without a diagnosis, and after 2 months (there were significant back orders of this part) we were able to get it installed in the car and all was fine. Fast forward to last week (April 2025) and it’s starting up again - electronics turning on randomly, battery drain, windows going down in the garage, warning lights all illuminated, dead battery every day - so the BCM that was installed in 2023 has failed AGAIN. Honda absolutely knows about this issue as they have a recall for Accords. However, I paid $1000 to fix it in 2023 and will no doubt pay at least that much now to do it again. Meanwhile, the car is effectively inoperable and can’t be safely operated on the road. Honda needs to RECALL this issue and fix it for good.

2019 Honda CRV infotainment issues, screen randomly goes blank while driving causing the passengers of the car to have no ability to adjust the various settings (climate, radio, navigations, lighting of the counsel, etc.). This has been ongoing since the first year I purchased the car. Recently while driving the entire screen went blank and a very loud static like noise was coming from the speakers, I could not turn the radio off, I could not adjust the volume. I have to find a safe spot to pull over and shut the car off for a few min. I purchased my car new from the Honda Dealership and have brought it in multiple times due to these electrical issues and they keep telling me it is because I am not using an apple cord to connect OR my apple cord is old. This is not true I purchased brand new cords from apple directly and still the issues keep happening. Also in the last 2 months the rear tail lights will flash for no reason. Car parked in the garage over night the next morning I go out and tail lights are randomly doing quick flashes every few mins. This is a daily occurrence now and I worry someone will think it is a blinker while I am driving but it is not. I have seen several other online forums with the very same issues I am having and Honda wont do anything about it. There is something wrong with the electrical system in these cars.

At highway speeds, while steering wheel is centered, steering “sticks”, when turning to the right. It takes some effort to get it to go past this sticking point then feel a pop in the steering and it lets go. Just like the recall says, but this vehicle as well as many others are affected. Yet still no recall on them

We were driving on [XXX] . Lane keep assist and cruise control were active at the time of the incident. We were driving in the leftmost lane when suddenly we heard a loud thud noise and the tire immediately went 90 degrees causing us to lose steering control. The vehicle went from the left lane into the shoulder, making contact with the side barrier on the highway with the tire as first point of contact. We immediately attempted to regain control of the vehicle and managed to steer it out of the barrier and slowly come to a skidding stop in the shoulder area. Multiple suspension components damaged, possibly transmission, wheel damaged, ball joint and axle damaged, left front strut, strut mount, strut bearing, and upper spring seat damaged. We got it fixed for the first time for 6.1k then they wires another fix for the back wheel because the entire wheel and more parts were damaged and they want to fix it for 1k more. and then today I got another quote for 1.3k for the strut. They have done multiple diagnostic tests and alignment tests but keep coming with more issues. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
