The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Spontaneous explosion of moon roof glass - I was driving about 70mph on the highway near my home, it was a windy/partially sunny day and for no reason my moon roof glass exploded, sounded like a small bomb and in the rear view mirror i could see a lot of debris coming down. I then drove to a location where I safely parked and took a picture of the broken moon roof glass. I did not hear or see anything that would have caused this - it was spontaneous. Occurred about 330pm.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The dash warning lights all come on when the vehicle is started. Numerous Warning messages scroll across the dash indicating just about every system on the vehicle is malfunctioning. The collision warning system stops working, the lane change warning stops working, cruise control stops working. I have no idea what else could have stopped working that could mean the difference between life and death. My vehicle has had this problem for almost two years now. This problem stops after disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes then it comes back unpredictably. Honda dealerships just guess what the problem is because there are no definitive error codes. They randomly want to change parts like fuel injectors, onboard computer, brakes, battery, and others, and charge thousands of dollars and will not refund the money when the problem reappears. This problem is putting drivers at serious risk and Honda has done absolutely nothing to find and repair the problem. There are hundreds of reports of this problem online and Honda has not responded. Honda dealerships are making tons of money from this issue and doing nothing to solve the problem.

The drivers and passenger smart door handles have failed this year. It caused parasitic battery drain over 3 days and the doors would unlock automatically just by walking within 5 feet of the car. I have disconnected them for now because 800 in parts only is rediculous. Very dissapointed the reliability of the 2016 CRV.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Driving west on [xxx]. approaching [XXX] , at approximately [XXX] on [XXX], the collision mitigation braking system slammed on the car brakes without warning. There were zero objects in front of us and fortunately no one behind us. If we had been on the freeway, or if another vehicle had been following us, the incident could have resulted in accident and/or injury. Our safety continues to be at-risk. This occurred randomly and therefore could happen again at any time in any circumstance, and apparently has for other drivers of this make, model and year vehicle. The vehicle is scheduled for inspection 4/16/25 at 9:00 a.m. at Stockton Honda in Sandy, Utah. That said, after researching this issue, we found that NHTSA has had an on-going investigation into this issue since February of 2022. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
There have been several times where my forward collision warning goes off when I am just driving along an open highway with no other vehicles nearby and no precipitation. In broad daylight. Another time, a car in front of me slammed on their brakes. There wasn't enough time for me to come to a complete stop, so I navigated my car to the shoulder (I was only going about 30 mph to begin with). However, while I was turning the steering wheel, the Automatic Emergency Braking system engaged, making it impossible for me to turn the steering wheel further. I missed the car in front of me by only and inch or two. If I would have hit that car, it would have been because the AEB system locked up my steering wheel and made it impossible to control my vehicle.

The steering is sticky at highway speeds like something is wrong with the steering input. The steering doesn't react then all of a sudden the steering wheel releases and over compensates requiring a quick opposite steering input. Difficult to drive on the highway. A real safety issue.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The infotainment display on my vehicle's dashboard flashes and emits a "beeping" sound frequently. The only way to remedy the problem is to pull off the road, shut down the engine and restart it. The flashing and beeping is not only annoying, but poses a safety hazard - particularly at night. I belong to a Honda CR-V owners group and my complaint is frequently echoed by other CR-V owners, so the problem is not limited to my vehicle. My Honda dealer will fix the problem for $1,600. I've been in touch with Honda corporate and they refuse to remedy the problem at their expense since my vehicle is out of warranty.

I purchased a brand new 2025 CRV on Sept. 29, 2024. 3 months after purchase, I started noticing a noise when I would make a turn. It sounded like rocks being thrown around. It turned out to be my cable reel/clock spring. A month after replacement, my steering wheel started making a clicking noise when driving straight or turning. It was confirmed again that it was the cable reel/clock spring… only this time, they put padding around to “please me.”

I have a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid AWD Sport model. On two occasions within the past 3 months, I have attempted to start the car, but when I did so, the dashboard lights, including all the error indicators lit up and flashed, the alarm went off, and I couldn't drive the car. In both cases, I called Roadside Assistance. While waiting for the tow truck, we were able to shut off the car and alarm by putting the car into "accessory mode," (pushing the ignition button without a foot on the brake.) But when we then tried to start the car normally (pushing start button with foot on brake) the electrical light show resumed and alarm started up all over again. Both times this happened, by the time the tow truck arrived (1-2.5 hours) the car had "rebooted" so we just drove home. The first time this occurred, the Honda dealer had just performed the recall repair to the steering gear box 2 days before the first electrical failure.

As I'm turning at curve the steering locks up and sticks and I have to use a both hands to stay in my lane. You can easily hit a car turning the curve next to you when the steering locks up. I took it to dealer and they knew about having these issues from other CR-V and they said it's the steering rack. pinion. No lights or warning turn on when this happens. Other honda owners on reddit were having the same issues. It's where I found out I can put a complaint so this issue can be reviewed.

For several months (around early December) the steering wheel has been snapping in and out of place and not steering smoothly and had a subtle clicking sound. It felt as if it was catching on something, but the car was NOT pulling or shaking. I brought it to a local auto shop (that replaced my tires) and then Tire Kingdom and neither found any issues and ran a diagnostic report. Wheel alignment was good. I knew something was not right and my husband experienced the same sort of popping in and out of place sensation (felt like it was catching on something) as well. I took it to the Honda dealer today (March 12) and was informed I needed to replace the rack and pinion. My car was not part of this Honda recall [XXX] ), but it sounds like quite a similar issue.
