My transmission light has been on for over a year. After visiting to private mechanics- diagnostic testing from both confirm an EVAP leak. They did smoke tests and nothing came back. After visiting credit karma. Under property, as I own my vehicle it states that there is a “Fuel system, gasoline: delivery: fuel pump recall” documented on March 29, 2024. After contacting Honda directly they have stated that my VIN is not under the recall. After fueling up at the gas station. My vehicle inside and outside smells of gasoline for over 2-3 days. Which is not the norm. I’m pregnant and this is extremely dangerous. I am not going to bring my vehicle into a dealership to be told what I already know and be charged.

Since purchasing my vehicle in 2022, I’ve experienced my seat “click and unclick” after adjusting it as well as at random times when driving. As I’ve been reviewing recalls for my own year/make/model, I recently found that 2023-24 Hondas & Acuras were experiencing a similar issue and have had a recall for their seat frame bolt. However, I’m unsure if it’s due to the same reason, as I’ve not seen other related complaints for my own year/make/model.

After intermittently experiencing sticking of my steering wheel and creaking/grinding when turning the wheel, in April 2024 my vehicle’s rack & pinion recall was closed at Northside Honda (28,676 miles). In May 2024, I was provided a free oil change at the same dealership. I wasn’t informed of any failed recommendations or provided a copy of the multipoint inspection (29,328 miles). The sticky steering continued to be intermittent and I was unable to replicate it, specifically as cooler weather began. In February 2025, my vehicle’s steering gearbox recall was closed and corrective action was performed at Hill Country Honda due to my sticky steering noticeably occurring at highway speeds, making it difficult to return to center, specifically during a drive home from work that required significant effort to stay in my lane (38,957 miles). In October 2025, I scheduled another inspection, as the sticky steering had noticeably returned once more at highway speeds. It was then diagnosed by Hill Country Honda’s technician to be an internal failure of the gearbox with a recommendation of electric steering gearbox replacement (51,073 miles). After numerous attempts to inform Honda Corporate of my recent finding (fail recommendation “incorrectly assembled steering rack”) which Northside Honda never mentioned to me in 2024, neither Honda Corporate nor the dealership will take accountability. I’ve also noted that no comments were listed in the rack and pinion recall to indicate a concern/complaint, despite my description stated above. The dealership is continuing to state my car was not included in the recall though listed on my oil change visit after the recall was closed and they won’t cover 100% replacement regardless of this being incomplete warranty work from 2024. A new investigation NEEDS to be opened on this steering recall. Honda Corporate’s corrective action has not helped numerous people from what I’ve researched even with the replacement of a steering rack.

Honda CVT transmission fluid seal leak cause by failed torque converter. Car has a perfect maintenance history, all fluid changes done on time with Allen Honda at Bryan Texas including filters associated. Car is garage kept, not driven hard. Always driven in economy mode for smooth efficiency. Failure occurred at 86,165 miles. Significant enough I am reporting this, as it is a safety issue, however don't know if other Honda civics have had this issue. A normal CVT transmission should last 150,000 miles before issues start according to manufacturer (Honda) who built the car. Two photos attached displaying the leak and puddle on my driveway. Leak is a slow drip, fixing it in the morning at a shop which will put me out of almost $3000 not under warranty because car is 6 years of age instead of 5 years. Honda needs to be made aware this is a serious safety concern, had I not caught it, it could have led to crash possibly, or fire from overheating. Leaking areas circled in red. Car currently not drivable, having to tow it in the morning to replace failed parts.

My 2016 Honda Civic has a recurring safety-critical defect that began approximately 2–3 weeks after purchase. While turning (most often left turns), the vehicle suddenly shuts off without warning. When this occurs, the power steering assist locks, brake assist is lost, and the electrical system cuts off and then reboots. This has happened more than 5–6 times and nearly caused collisions. I had to apply extreme brake pressure to avoid hitting another vehicle during one incident. The steering becomes rigid, the dashboard goes dark, and the car restarts on its own while still in motion. Before I purchased the vehicle, a diagnostic inspection was performed and no issues were reported. Since owning the car, it has also been taken to a mechanic multiple times, and no diagnostic code or mechanical explanation for this shutdown issue has ever been identified. The defect appears intermittently and leaves no trace or error codes, making it extremely difficult to detect or repair. This is a serious safety hazard that could cause injury or death. The problem appears to be a latent defect that was present at the time of vehicle sale. I am reporting this so NHTSA can investigate whether this is a known issue with this model or whether other consumers have experienced similar sudden shutdowns.

- #11700315November 19, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH and approaching another vehicle, the adaptive cruise control mode failed to operate as needed. The message " Brake" was displayed. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not have sufficient time to stop and crashed into a truck. The front end of the vehicle went underneath the high bumper truck. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. Neither the contact nor the other driver sustained any injuries. The vehicle was towed to an autobody repair shop. A police report was filed. The contact stated that he was afraid to disclose to the police officer that the incident occurred due to the adaptive cruise control mode failure. The contact advised the police officer that he failed to depress the brake pedal in time. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,300.

The steering wheel has been sticky on our 2018 Honda Civic. We took it to a Honda dealership for evaluation and they said it needs a Steering Gearbox Replacement. Other 2018 Honda Civics have had the same issue and a recall was issued but our particular vin number is not apart of this recall. The 2018 recall states: “Due to incorrect production of the steering gearbox torque sensor, the torque sensor magnet may shift from its normal position inside the gearbox. A shifted sensor magnet may cause the steering to move left or right unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.” Because of this risk while driving, as well as it being the same issue that other cars with the same make and model were recalled, ours should also be recalled.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lowered to the ground and slid to a stop. The contact stated that the passenger's side front wheel had detached and rolled away from the vehicle. A bystander picked up the wheel and returned it to the contact. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where the cause of the wheel detachment could not be determined. The dealer replaced the steering rod, the shaft, and other unknown parts. The vehicle was repaired. The contact requested that the front driver's side wheel be inspected, but the dealer declined to perform the inspection. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the Insurance provider for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000. The VIN was invalid.

When using the backseat armrest and cup holders, if you have a hot coffee, to go, from let’s say Starbucks, no matter the size, it will come out of the cup holder in certain turns, when the car is moving. It’s spilled multiple times on my kids and a friend, who had scalding on their hands. This is very unsafe and the cup holders need to be deeper, they are very shallow, to hold to go cups, even sodas from McDonald’s will come out of the cup holders when the car is turning at medium speeds around corners, 30 MPH or so.

My boyfriend has a Honda Civic 2018 EXL and on 11/07/2025 around noonish, I briefly turned on the passenger side seat warmer for approximately 15 minutes and received second degree burns/blisters on the back of my thighs from the seat. I knew something was wrong because I had to peel my thighs off the seat and my skin felt really flushed and hot. Over 24 hours, the blisters formed and then popped.

While driving on Rt.119 through Uniontown PA, I was going 60-65 mph on a four lane road passing a cat on the right. I was about 3/4 of the way passing the car when three emergency braking kicked in and applied full braking. The road was straight, there was no vehicle or other obstruction in the road. This happened at approximately 3:30 P.M on 11/14/2025 with overcast sky and dry conditions. This caused the full sized tractor trailer behind me to lock up his brakes to attempt to not hit me. The only thing I can think of that kept me from getting hit, was I was able to hit the gas pedal.

On August 9 while grandson was in route on I20 toward Birmingham, Al. to attend grandparent funeral, driver air bag exploded. He struggled to take a close next exit. He pulled car to side of road and ran away from car. He said it was full of smoke and small pieces. He feared the car was going to catch fire. His phone was dead and there was nothing off the exit so after smoke cleared and he felt safer, he drove car to my home and parked under carport. I called Sunny King Honda on Monday and they said that I had to contact American Honda. I was told they would send someone to inspect, but after many times calling, they said insurance needed to inspect. On October 1, Insurance looked at car and did car fax and found no reason for air bag to explode. They had already given me case number but finally a case manager, named Ilene, answered and said to take to dealership on October 24 for inspection and test. I spoke with guy at dealership and he said because car does not need to be driven, I could leave there and they would lock up. I have called again many times trying to find out when car will be fixed and she is not returning my calls. It has been 3 more weeks since dropping off at dealership. It is going on 4 months without car. This could have been a death complaint instead of needing repair. He was fortunate that his left arm was really red and no other harm. There was not a recall on his vin but common sense is air bag is for safety when hitting something to protect individual. Looking on line, there are other complaints with 2011 Civic. The car has been a great car but I am concerned about safety. I hoped American Honda would just repair car and make safe, but at this point, I am questioning.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Answer: The transmission is slipping or malfunctioning when driving the car, specifically when accelerating. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Answer: When the transmission slips or malfunctions, the acceleration of the car doesn't act as it should. For example, when waiting to join a flow of vehicle traffic, or when waiting to cross a busy intersection, the delay in acceleration or the slipping of the transmission is increasing the risk of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or causing my vehicle to block other vehicles. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Answer: Yes. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Answer: No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Answer: No. Additional information: I spoke with Honda in 2023 to see if there was a recall related to my CVT transmission. They took my information, but advised there was no recall. I had a similar conversation with them in 2024 because it seemed to be getting worse, but there still was no recall. Now in 2025, it still feels like it's getting worse and making it feel unsafe to drive the car.

Continental ProContact RX 235/40 R18 91W DOT 1A3 OFBK7W 25 Honda Civic Touring Hybrid 4 mths old, 2300 miles brand new car On Sun Oct 19 approx 11:30am traveling on I95 N at SC/NC border this Conti tire mounted on LR blew out suddenly causing the 25 Honda to fishtail on the hwy. I gained control of vehicle and safely pulled to the side of I95. Honda Roadside refused to tow the vehicle because local Honda dealers were closed on Sunday. I called AAA and towed to car to local Walmart in Dillon SC who mounted a different brand but correct size tire. I completed my tiip to Arlington VA. The Walmart service manager showed me the tire where the inside sidewall had completely detached from the main tire tread but was in one piece separated from but but still on the rim. Based on this incident these tires are UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED ---HONDA SHOULD BE SANCTIONED FOR ALLOWING THEM TO BE INSTALLED ON THEIR NEW CARS
