My Honda is only at 80,000 miles and my fuel pump has gone bad already and I wanted to look into this as I feel it’s not right to have my car die in me so early in it’s life for something that should last much longer

I was doing 28 mph with both hands on the steering wheel and was about to start declining down a hill, so I lightly touch the brakes. The car left the roadway. The steering wheel never turned. I hit a pile of rocks which launched me into the air landing on a 500 pound boulder which totaled my vehicle. There was only 561 miles on the car and as a result my insurance tripled. I know suffer from PTSD because I no longer trust any vehicle! I also had a very sore neck for weeks following the landing. I reported to the insurance company which was Progressive that there is definitely a defect within the car. I even reported it to the regional office as well. Nobody seems to care! I am a good driver, and at the age of 51 I have not had any accidents. I have no doubt in my mind that the 2023, Honda Civic has a major defect and many lives are at risk!

Hagerstown Honda is 80 plus miles away from my house. My ignition failed which is a very common problem in that generation of all Honda vehicles. My ignition failed and I had it replaced by a local mechanic with genuine Honda parts. All dealerships including Honda run a monopoly on reprogramming ignition. The local mechanic taped the old key under the dash to get the car started. Not long after my hybrid battery failed and I had it replaced at Hagerstown Honda. I told them to reprogram the ignition. They said they would do it and never did it. Not long after the car refused to start and I found out from the local mechanic that Hagerstown Honda never reprogrammed the ignition. Car has sat in my driveway for years with me renewing tags. Honda started calling me and sending me letters via USPS about thd airbag. I told them to not call me anymore. My father had the same problem with his 2004 Honda Accord. Honda stalked and harassed us for years, supposedly on behalf of your agency. Honda has violated FCC regulations. I wrote a letter to Maryland state and they forwarded it to Honda serving as a cease and disist. They haven't complied. I sent a copy a complaint to your agency which was forwarded to Honda and they decided to stalk and harass me through email. I've had to unsubscribe twice. The car has been sitting so long the frame is probably totaled. I want a new car or money in the equivalent to a new car and compensated for the harassment.

My Honda Civic with manual transmission, suddenly would not go into gear and lost power (engine still running). Fortunately, I was able to coast to the opposite side of the road across oncoming traffic, since there was no right shoulder. After a tow home, I discovered that the manual clutch slave cylinder was detached from the engine block (photo attached) and of the 2 connecting bolts (photo attached), one was sheared and the other was intact but unconnected. The last service to the vehicle was with Manly Honda service in Santa Rosa, CA replacing the AC condenser and compressor. I called them to see if they had not secured the 2 bolts after completing the AC service. The service manager said that they would not have removed this clutch slave cylinder in the AC service. I advised the service manager that if the clutch cylinder had not been removed by them, then it could be a safety hazard issue that should be reported to Honda Motors. After some online research, I have discovered that this problem has been experiened by other Honda Civic owners.

The VSA modulator is a known issue from honda. Mine went out while going down the highway. So many have gone bad recently that the modular is hard to get due to backorder. Warning lamps: Check brake system, Check ABS system, Check VSA & Check Power Steering. First three were one after another. Check power steering was about 10 seconds after the others.

I bought my 2017 Civic 2.0L brand new. A few years later my A/C stops working in the middle of summer. Due to the cost of what it was going to cost me to have this fixed I had to delay getting my car fixed and having to drive a car with no A/C with my infant and toddler in the back. Eventually I was able to get this fixed and had to pay over $700. For this being a brand new vehicle when purchased I don't think that an issue like this should have occurred if the vehicle was manufactured properly. Unfortunately, no light came on in the vehicle to tell me that something was wrong or needed fixed.

Took car to the dealer in June 2023 and complaint that Steering is 'sticky,' making it difficult to make minor adjustments while driving. Each time any move is made with the steering wheel, it is like it has to 'break free' from being stuck. This happens almost all the time over 40-45 mph, regardless of the driving mode. Car is not driving smooth. Paid dealership for a balancing. Took car back to dealer in July 2023 and service diagnostics reported racked steering problem, and this part was on BACK ORDER. Apparently the issue has been reported several times with by other customer. Currently the dealership is waiting for the part. This is a potential safety issue. I have requested a loaner car to avoid operating my car constantly, but of cause there where no loner vehicles available.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated while entering the vehicle, the contact discovered a coolant leak underneath the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a crack in the engine block. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.

The steering sticks around highway speeds which causes me to over correct. The vehicle feels unsafe to drive and I am being told it will cost close to $4,000.00 to replace the electronic steering rack.

Is there a service bulletin for our 2018 Civic Si for sticky steering? The longer we drive, the worse the sticky spot gets. It takes enough manual force to overcome that it overcorrects when it breaks loose. Leads to a lot of heavy handed weaving when I intend to be going straight and effortless for hundreds of miles. Recurs frequently on every long trip but seems worse in summertime. Happens at all speeds. Started around 50,000 miles and has continued to the present 133,000 miles. I worked in the aerospace industry for many years, and we had a common problem that may be relevant. Electric motors in a DC system, require a capacitive circuit to build up energy to start motor movement. Liquid filled capacitors are inherently cheaper, but they dry out over time and use which leads to failure of the capacitor and degraded motor performance (especially start up delays). Higher grade capacitors for the electric motor may have been overlooked, but may be the solution to the problem.

Driving at 70mph I got a low tire pressure alert followed shortly thereafter by the left rear tire separating entirely from the rim and started rolling down the highway as I pulled off the side of the road. Very nearly lost control of the vehicle.

A/C system.- compressor &/or shaft seal leak- As we were driving our BRAND NEW Honda civic to Las Vegas for our daughter’s wedding on July 12, 2019 in the heat of 115 degrees, the AC stopped working & started blowing hot air, we were forced to continue our 5 hour journey in this unsafe driving condition since it was our daughter’s wedding. This was at 36,100 miles, just 100 miles out of warranty. The recall had not happened yet & we were unaware other people were experiencing the same issues with this same AC system Honda used. I Took it to my local Honda dealer upon return of the torturous unsafe trip and they wanted $3000 to fix the problem they took no blame for it. I immediately filed a complaint with safecar.gov #11322455. 4 years later, PARTS of the Ac system were recalled & I was sent a letter from American Honda stating show us the invoices you had to pay before the recall happened. I did exactly what they said and they denied all of my expenses. I am in shock. This was not my problem their defected AC system leaked Freon. That was their system that they put into that brand new car that was worthless. They cut corners used a cheaper outside contractor it’s obvious. I have $552.93, in repairs that American Honda has refused to reimburse me for and I went through the whole process they requested it’s not right. I should be paid for what I had to pay on that AC system before the recall. It was not my fault it was their fault.

5,200 miles warning light steering appears and the steering wheel slightly moves on it own left to right .. right to left along (back & forth) with stiffing up .. all of this happens in a few seconds and goes away. It is random and has happened within a few minutes of each occurrence. I went on line and searched this other have had the same experience and I took a picture of what exactly appeared on my dash so you can see it.

I bought a new 2022 civic touring. As of approximately 3000 miles into driving the vehicle, I noticed steering issues at lower road speeds of 30-45 miles per hour. The steering was "catching" when the steering wheel was oriented at 12 o'clock. I immediately took it to a dealership and demanded they drive the vehicle and I told them the steering rack needed to be replaced. At first they agreed with me that the mechanical rack itself was the problem; however, after further investigation, they discovered the problem was with the Hitachi-made ECU (electronic control unit) with the power steering system. I waited 7 months for this repair. I demanded the dealership foot the bill for my rental car for the duration of this time, and they did. The part was back-ordered because it is Japanese, and assembled in China. It is a relatively advanced semiconductor microchip, hence the wait. The part nomenclature is "Steering Gearbox, Electric Power Steering." I have put 3000 miles on the vehicle since it was repaired, and have not noticed any lingering symptoms of the initial problem. Car steering appears healthy. DEMAND that the repairing party honors the warranty. This is an expensive repair that dealerships do not want to pay for, according to most forums relating to this issue. Therefore, they are waiting for Honda to issue a recall, which will never happen due to the low number of problem cases. Mine is the only case of this repair being done satisfactorily that I have found online. Good luck guys.

The steering system malfunctioned; It is available for inspection upon request After driving about 5 miles from work, I entered a freeway and accelerated to blend with the flow of traffic. Something was terribly wrong. The wheel became difficult to manage and would not steer properly. I increased my grip, I felt that I was losing control, constantly trying to reposition the car in the lane. I was not able to exit the freeway but got off the freeway when I found a side street that I knew. There were warning messages that I was going out of the lane. My safety or the safety of others was compromised. I never experienced anything like this. This is a new leased car and I have had it about 5 weeks.
