The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started overheating. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road, where she noticed that coolant was leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to Firestone, where it was diagnosed that there was a crack in the engine block, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she would be charged a fee for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.

I reported the issue of steering being tight and sticking less than a year ago which opened and investigation from NHTSA. I had my ps rack replaced under extended warranty and hoped issue was resolved yet less than a year later the same exact issue is present. Steering is sticking, tight, notchy, and stays stuck at speeds above 50-80mph primarily to the left side steering. I took car back to dealership that replaced and was diagnosed with yet again a bad PS rack gear box and my extended warranty must cover it again.

On 10/8-23 my daughter was driving her 2015 Honda Civic when it suddenly stopped moving forward/not respond to the accelerator. There was no warning light, it simply stopped working. She was on a busy highway and luckily was able to turn into an outer road. We had to have the car towed and now am being told the belt broke in the transmission. I googled to see if there were any recalls as she only has 112,000 miles on the car and we have it serviced regularly. There is a recall pertaining to a software program for the 2014-2015 Civics, but when I enter our VIN #, it shows that there is no recall. I would assume that our car fell under the recall as what happened is exactly what is stated in the recall notice. We never received a recall notice and our Honda dealership never notified us of a recall. I do believe this is an error on Honda's part as the recall is what happened to our vehicle. Now, we are having to put almost $7,000 into this car when we should have been warned about this even if our "VIN" is not in this as it apparently should be. I have read online so many others that were trapped into this expense without having any notice. Again, Honda should expand this recall and us that were not given the opportunity to help prevent this should be compensated in some way. Purchased through the Honda Dealership in Lee's Summit, Missouri

On this 2022 Honda Civic Sport the steering will become “sticky” or “stiff” at highway speeds after driving the vehicle for 15-20 minutes. It will become very difficult to make small steering corrections, with more effort needed to turn the steering wheel, resulting in almost over corrections.

Steering is 'sticky,' difficult to make minor adjustments. Anytime I have to manipulate the steering wheel, it seems the force needed to free it is excessive. And if its bad enough, sometimes it will cause the car to turn too much due to the extra force used to free it. It's happening anytime around 40mph and greater.

Front passenger seat belt pretensioner (Honda part #HP04814-TR3-A00ZA) deployed too late after a minor impact (<10 mph) causing passenger to lurch forward until seat belt engaged. The part is not available for inspection. Passenger's safety was at risk due to not being held firmly in place by the seat belt. Don't know if Honda has confirmed/reproduced this issue. Car was inspected by Honda dealership on 11/28/21. No other impact related damage or parts failure discovered by Honda during inspection. Honda replacement part (Honda part #HP04814-TR3-A00ZA) ordered at that time. Replacement part was backordered and did not arrive until 9/1/23. No warning lamps/messages/other symptoms prior to failure.

The steering wheel is shifting from side to side while driving and it will get stuck at times and make you over correct. It is a safety hazard because you have to pull the steering wheel the opposite way to get it unstuck. I have not taken it to the dealer yet. There were no warnings. I began to notice right after hitting 32000 miles.

The steering in my care has become "sticky" especially when you're driving over 45MPH. When you want to turn it slightly, you can't and you end up pulling and jerking the car left/right. Driving like this in the rain extremely scary and I'm concerned about overcorrecting and crashing my car going at high speeds. The steering is not smooth and just feels stuck all the time. I had to turn off lane departure because that makes it worse and I also can't use the steering assist feature since it just jerks the care left/right.
