My vehicle was giving me the “you’re going to collide with something warning which is a loud alarm. I wasn’t even close to anything. I called and they said they had people stopping by all day with the same complaint. Then he told me that it can even do it when there is a hard rain.

FOR THE 2023 HONDA CIVIC WHEN YOU TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROST BUTTONS ARE NOT ILLUMINATED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. AT NIGHT IF YOU HAVE CONDENSATION ON EITHER THE FRONT OR REAR WINDOWS YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEE THE BUTTONS FOR DEFROST SINCE THEY ARE NOT ILLUMINATED. HONDA OF AMERICA TELLS ME THIS IS STANDARD CONDITION AND NOT A DEFECT. I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS IN ANY OTHER CAR I'VE OWNED.

My steering is very stiff/sticky when traveling at highway speeds. A lot of other cars of the same year, make and model are recalled for faulty steering rack. However, mine is not included in the recall therefore I’m stuck with a brand new car that is unsafe to drive.

The component / system failed is steering, and it is available for inspection. My safety (and others safety) was put at risk because the steering is sticky - it forces me to overcorrect when I am driving straight at highway speeds. While driving the car on the highway on mostly straightaway stretches, my steering sticks and forces me to correct to stay on a straight course. When I try to do that it overcorrects and forces me to move in an unexpected and unsafe way. I almost hit the car next to me when this first happened because it was so unexpected. I brought the car into Plaza Honda dealership at 2700 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn NY 11210 on 9/28/23. We told them about the recall info and problems we were having with the car. We were told there were no current recalls on the car, and they advised that the car was "operating as designed". (See attached documents) There are no warnings, no warning lamps and no other symptoms - just sudden inability to control my vehicle The first time this occurred earlier in 2023 when the car hit about 10,000 miles

Driving on freeway on 12/2/2023 and the steering became difficult to handle. It felt that I lost my power steering. I exited the freeway and the car's steering seemed ok after all. The steering was fine for the remainder of the day. The next day, the problem happened again on a freeway. I can steer the car, but it requires more effort and it seems a bit jerky.

Steering is "sticky", with random resistance encountered, mainly from top center of wheel while making micro adjustments left or right and back to center. It happens almost every time it is driven at various speed. Williams Honda of Elmira, NY looked at my vehicle and determined it was not effected by the steering rack recall. So, I'm unsure what the problem is now.

Steering wheel feels stickey when I am driving on the highway. I need to apply extra pressure to keep the vehicle in the proper lane. I just completed a four hour trip and became very tired due to having to make constant corrections

Transmission completely went out with no warning or prior issues. I had just had my tire, brakes, oil, and an all around inspection done a week before this happened. I currently have it at a Honda dealership where they can not or will not tell me how this occurred only that I need a brand new transmission.

The contact owned a 2006 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the husband was idling behind a bus, a second vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. The impact of the rear-end crash pushed the vehicle into the rear of the bus causing severe damage to the vehicle's front end. During the crash, the air bags did not deploy and the seatbelts on both the driver's and front passenger's side had malfunctioned and did not properly secure the occupants. The driver sustained bruising of the chest and torso. The front passenger sustained a head injury. No medical treatment was immediately required. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed to a local service center. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 170,000.

Turning the steering wheel requires more force because there’s resistance. It’’s possible to turn the wheel to the left, let go of it and it’ll stay in that direction instead of rotating back. This causes major issues on the highway and during heavy rain. The slightest adjustment causes overcorrection. It’s also accompanied by this creaky/clicking noise.

Periodically when traveling at 30 MPH and higher, the steering becomes difficult to make adjustments when going straight or negotiating curves. There’s a sticky sensation which requires higher efforts to overcome. I’ve taken my car into the dealer on two occasions, but they were unable to replicate the problem. The problem is often but sporadic.

We have noticed the steering wheel "catching" at times; this hasn't been severe yet but is concerning. It tends to happen more on highways as opposed to dirt roads, so the higher the speed is. We have an appt today with the local Honda dealer so hopefully this gets fixed.

I made an appointment at Klein Honda in Everett to have the recall checked out or remedied, the service tech told me that their shop did not have the tools or parts to fix the recall yet. My receipt states that the recall was performed and now my steering wheel has started to stick and jerk subtlety while driving and also parked.

The steering wheel feels like it’s sticking at times, causing the driver to over adjust when turning curves or even just trying to keep the car straight.

•Problems occurring with steering. Even when assisted living keeping is off, the steering will try to throw me out of the lane where i have to constantly have a good grip to try stopping it from swerving the vehicle I tend to notice it more on highways especially in areas where the black line is on the road from lanes shifting over due to construction. •I believe it can be a huge safety risk that can cause an accident if someone isn’t fully attentive to the problem and not holding the steering wheel hard enough. •no warning lights or messages regarding parts affected by the problem. • The problem has not been reported , inspected, nor confirmed by the dealer and/or other parties. •I noticed the problem start around or before 1000 miles (my first month having the car)

My steering wheel sticks when the engine has been warmed up, requiring extra force to begin turning it. This can make small adjustments on the road difficult, and means I have to overcorrect all the time and have trouble staying in my lane. It happens after driving ~20 minutes on warm days (above 70 degrees). The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic, and I was told the only solution is replacing the entire steering rack. No warning lights have come on. This is NOT an isolated incident-- it happens every time the vehicle is driven for 20+ minutes on a warm day, and gets worse the longer it's driven.

Power steering system making steering adjustments to left or right on its own. Increases with time and speed. When car is pointed straight electronic power steering will slightly jerk the car to left or right without input from driver. Repeated false inputs while driving. Serious safety concern!

I first noticed the sticky steering back in November of 2022, after owning the car since May of 2022. The steering would become sticky, almost as if your were steering in 2 or 3 degree increments. I took it to the Honda dealer, Don Jacobs here in Lexington, KY, and they had it for almost a day, drove it and told me when I picked it up they could not feel it. I drove it away and it acted the same way, felt blown off by the dealer, as if I did no know what I was talking about. As an experiment I took the car to a parking lot and did a couple of lock to lock turning circles, and low and behold it quit. After a while it would come back, took to the dealer again, again they said they did not feel a thing. It has done it off and on since, I just do the lock to lock and it quits for a while. Have noticed when driving on the highway that it starts to act up quicker. Yes, Honda should issue a recall. I could see someone with limited mechanical ability, having it lead them into an accident situation. There were sometimes I had to really put way too much pressure on the steering wheel just to make any minor corrections, warning my wife to be careful and not over steer the car.
