The vehicle experienced a rough idle and white smoke blowing out the exhaust on a cold startup. It did have coolant loss over a period of time with no visible leaks. I waited until I got a check engine code that revealed a misfire in cylinder 4. Upon further diagnostic testing it was revealed that the head gasket was blown between cylinders 3 and 4. I paid for the repair out of pocket only to see that this is a very common issue with the 1.5 turbo engine.

I would like to file a complaint against American Honda Motor Company. My 2024 Accord Hybrid experienced a steering wheel sticking issue at 30,000 miles, but the steering rack assembly was replaced free of charge under warranty. However, after another year and reaching 60,000 miles, the same problem reappeared—the steering wheel is sticking again, especially noticeable when driving on the highway!

A loud static sound through the speakers that gets louder and louder with all equipment turned off. I have to pull over and turn the car off for several minutes to drive a mile or so before the sound starts again.

ABS LOW VOLTAGE WARNING symbol appeared on vehicle. $3500 to repair according to dealership. This is a common issue on these vehicles and poses a safety risk. Hoping that NHTSA will investigate this problem as many owners have experienced same issue and repair cost is significant, particularly for a vehicle this age.

When I was accelerating the vehicle on 12/21/2025, a flashing check engine light came on, and the car started driving very roughly immediately, with an intense vibration. I noticed a lack of engine power, but the hybrid motor and battery kept me going for roughly 1 mile until they were depleted, after which I was unable to accelerate the vehicle. At that time, the car continued to decelerate, no matter how much I depressed the accelerator. I was able to safely pull over and turn the car off. I let it sit for one minute before turning it on again, at which point it behaved normally. I drove very cautiously to my destination, making sure to accelerate very gradually. This sudden lack of power put myself and others on the road at risk, as it was very sudden with no prior symptoms/warning lights, and I had no recourse besides pulling over as soon as possible. Over the next few days, I researched the problem online, and owners of Honda Accords from that generation (10th generation, model years 2018-2022) reported head gasket failure on all engines Honda offered the 10th generation Accord, including the 1.5 turbo, 2.0 turbo, and 2.0 hybrid engines. This problem is also reported on a slew of other Honda vehicles from roughly that time period. I brought it to Motor Werks Honda in Barrington, IL on 12/24/2025. After they completed their analysis, they determined it was a failed headgasket.

- #11711018January 14, 2026UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I purchased a 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 in 2023 with less than 100 miles at the time of purchase. To this day it has 15,005 miles, I comply with recommended maintenence, however the car has been trying to kill me. I purchased Honda Care along with numerous other extended warranties. Mind you I paid for the ENTIRE car in cash. While driving, the car randomly slams on the breaks when no one is on the street and it also does in the middle of traffic. There have been several instances in which I have almost been rear ended because the vehicle slams on its breaks without notice. This happens even when the break assist is turned off. I turn it off everytime I start the car but it turns itself back on while the car is motion. One morning on my way to work there were no cars (5am), there was nothing in the road and the RED BRAKE DASH LIGHT Flashed then the car slammed on the brakes. I was traveling about 45-50 mph and the car abruptly stopped. I sustained multiple bruises from the seat belt shoulder strap and lap belt. I have previous chronic back issues that were aggrevated by this incident. I am still under a physicians care for my back issues (unrelated) but I do believe this occurrence aggrevated these issues even more. I did not want to make a huge deal out of this however the vehicle continues to slam on the brakes without notice and I am fearful that I will injure myself, my grandson, or someone else as a result of a defective vehicle. I took my car to Honda today 1/14/2026 and they were absolutely no help. There was no consistency when I was told how they could diagnose the problem & no time frame was given. There is nothing I could have done in order to make your automatic breaking system fail when Honda is the only one that does work on my car. I requested to speak to the GM Curtis Hensley and that request was ultimately denied. Honda care said the dealership could loan me a vehicle and the dealership said I had to rent it plus pay $180 diagnostic fee.

Car parked for 6 days while on vacation. Came back it started fine but 30 mins into travel, I lost power steering while on the highway next to a tractor trailer and the warning lights were shifting through a cycle of warnings of things not working. It told me to go to the dealership which I brought on my way home. They looked and said it was because i didn't drive it. The car is 1 year old and that battery should be working. I travel at least 120 miles a day5 days a week so there isn't a deficit of charging. Regardless, this should not be normalized by Honda. There should be something I can do to check this situation prior to driving. I do have a video of the cycle of warnings but I can't upload it here. Contact me for it if you would like it.

The dealer replaced some steering components around 25-30k miles. The problem with the steering sticking and locking up as never stopped. The dealer is saying it's the gearbox. I have 45,000 miles, now the dealer wants to charge me $4,000 to replace the gear box. It should be covered under a recall or replaced when I first took the car in for repair, while it was under warranty.

Steering binds or sticks while steering wheel is on center requiring diligence to maintain the vehicle's course. The steering also will periodically act as if the road departure system is engaged even when that feature and lane assist are turned off. The vehicle will dart to the right, but not to the left. Vehicle front suspension was re-aligned, but problems still persists.

This problem is seemingly widespread from one google search! The infotainment system screen will randomly start doing “ghost touches,” tapping random areas of the screen which is distracting but also clicking on things that shouldn’t be casually clicked like emergency calling or calling a random number! The screen would end my navigation, mute the speaker, go back, switch to a different app, etc. There is no warning lights or anything. The honda dealerships seem to realize that this is a know issue but will not replace it. They stated that replacing it is doesn’t always work as the problem returns. My car is perfect besides this issue and has never been in a crash.

This year model and make had a recall due to ABS modulator malfunction. At the time said my car was one that was not a recall, which is strange because I have the same make and model and I took my car into the honda place for oil change back in 2024 and the ABS modulator went out. The dealership told me that was a recall on this vehicle before for the same situation. I did contact the Honda corporation explain the situation advised me that my car was not on recall for that. I have always taken my car to dealership for any maintenance work, so strange to me that same thing you can a recall on my car has that problem, but not on recall. Which is now going to cost me thousands of dollars to get fix, for something that was on recall for same year of my car and make and model.

In late 2019 I noticed paint peeling around multiple areas of the car namely on the driver side, including the driver‘s door frame around the gas cap along the trim of the windshield and in areas on the trunk. I called Honda many times including emails include that included pictures of the areas. A local Honda dealership finally agreed to fix the issues of which they fixed all but one, the area around the gas cap in January 2021 within a year. The paint began to peel again in the exact same locations and they refused to fix it. I have sent multiple inquiries two Honda asking for it to be repair been denied the pictures below are the most recent photos, but I have pictures dating back over seven years of the issue if needed.

I have constantly had to replace spark plugs within the last year — all lights are on dashboard. Finally took it and got a P0372 code, rough idling and misfiring, and stalling. Car once cut off on me while driving. Took it to the Honda dealership and it is indeed my fuel injectors and gasket. I have tried to get in touch about a possible recall but the Honda Manufacturer are failing to release a recall. With all lights on dashboard, NO features of the car can be used (cruise control, road departure, lane keep assist, collision mitigation, hill start assist, traction control, brake hold, and tpms) I’m looking forward to a recall coming as soon as possible. I have done my research and thousands of people are having the SAME issue, it is frustrating especially with the cost of work having to be done. Nobody should have to purchase a new car because of a defect of the manufacturer or too lazy to investigate the issue. HONDA Salesmen and mechanics all say the same thing about the 1.5L Sports model. Over 3,400 worth of work due to a problem I did not cause.

The A/C condenser on my Honda failed and leaked out all of the refrigerant, which subsequently caused the A/C compressor and related components to fail. This issue is well‑documented, and Honda has issued an extended warranty specifically for the condenser due to its known defect. My vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealership, and they confirmed that the condenser failed and that the resulting loss of refrigerant caused the compressor to generate metal shavings. These metal particles can circulate through the HVAC system, potentially entering the cabin and posing a health risk to the driver and passengers. Despite the clear causal relationship and the dealership’s findings, Honda is refusing to replace the failed compressor and associated components, even though the failure originated from a part they acknowledge as defective and have extended warranty coverage for. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The A/C system stopped functioning without any advance indication, leaving me without proper ventilation and climate control. This defect raises both mechanical reliability concerns and potential health and safety risks due to metal contamination within the HVAC system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further, as Honda’s refusal to cover the full scope of damage caused by their known defective condenser leaves consumers exposed to unnecessary safety hazards and significant repair costs.

When I’m driving at highway speeds my steering wheel gets stuck and when this happens I’m over correcting my steering which is causing my car to swerve . I since took the vehicle to the dealership and had the steering rack and pinion replaced. They told me there has been several complaints of this happening and for now they do not have a updated parts as of yet . So they gave me a 12000 or 1 year warranty if this replacement part fails again.

I noticed all of the rear seats will show gray on the cluster indicating no occupants are in the seat, when a person is actually sitting there and is not buckled. Increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Once the rear seat occupant buckles (if they buckle) the seat belt, a green check light will appear on the screen alerting the driver, and after will display a red light indicating when that occupant has unbuckled. This was confirmed but could not be repaired by the Honda Service Department today, when I had the 2023-25 HYB ICM SW UPDATE SAFETY RECALL resolved.

Was operating the vehicle at about 30mph and the braking system started malfunctioning by giving me limited braking power and throwing a bunch of lights on the dash along with sudden loss of acceleration. Tried to press the pedal again and it didn’t respond I drifted to a stop in the middle a lane in the road. Had to shut vehicle off then restart to regain function. All conditions were clear outside. The dealer I bought it from has been very suspicious since the purchase. Bought as a “certified pre-owned” but have had nothing but problems in the couple weeks of owning. Such as the TPMS system continuously going off saying “low tire pressure” the dealer has seen it multiple times and still can’t figure out the problem. They said they’re gonna start “throwing random parts at it” Issues just continue to get worse with little to no cooperation with the dealership. Will be inspected in the morning once it’s towed in. No longer feel safe operating vehicle. Warning lamps came on after the malfunction. Then flickered on and off a few times then stayed on when I restarted the vehicle.
