I was driving down the freeway and all of a sudden there was a spontaneous, loud-bang, and explosion-like shattering of my moonroof/sunroof. I didn't know what happened initially but heard glass shards sliding around the roof. I slid the cover slightly open and could see the shattered glass. I drove home and discovered a hole in the glass. Im attaching pictures of what I saw. I got home and searched online to see if anyone else has experienced this and found several articles referencing 2023 Honda Accord's and this issue. Including some class action law suits against Honda.

The engine cylinder head developed a crack causing coolant leak, causing the coolant system to lose fluid. The leak originated from a hairline crack in the cylinder head, which has been confirmed by an independent, certified mechanic. The vehicle remained drivable initially, but a loss of coolant could lead to engine overheating, and catch on fire or smoke creating a potential safety hazard for the driver and others on the road. The vehicle was inspected at an authorized dealership at the direction of the manufacturer, which performed a teardown to diagnose the issue. After this inspection, additional engine components (timing chain and head gasket) were identified as damaged, though these failures were not present prior to the teardown. Other users facing similar leak issues were treated the same by dealership blaming other component issue and disregarding the visible crack. This defect appears to affect multiple vehicles of the same engine, as reported by other owners nationwide. Warning signs included coolant loss, which could escalate into a larger safety risk if not addressed. I have attached few user complains but if needed I can provide lot more user complaints around the nation as it is never ending.

- #11712864January 23, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I've had 3 phantom breaking experiences. Most recently while driving on a straight wet road (one of the other experiences the road was also wet). I was travelling at approximately 30-33 mph and the system did an automatic hard break with a perfectly clear road ahead, no cars, people or animals in front of me or on either side. Thankfully, no one was behind me either. The other wet road auto break instance was when I was traveling between 22-26 mph on a road with a slight curve and vehicles were parked on the right side of the road. I was turning appropriately to take the slight turn and suddenly the breaks slammed on. There was no danger of me hitting anything. The third instance was when a vehicle was crossing a two lane road from left to right ahead of me. Two vehicles were ahead of me in the right lane traveling the same direction I was. My vehicle slammed on the brakes assessing that we would hit the vehicle crossing the lanes. There was absolutely no danger of that happening, I was multiple car lengths back. Should this happen when vehicles are traveling behind me, it could cause a very bad accident and it would appear that I would be liable for slamming on my breaks. I will begin trying to disable this safety feature whenever the roads are wet and make an appointment to have the dealer inspect the car. This has not been inspected or confirmed by anyone at this point. When this occurs, there is no warning - just slams the breaks and a "BREAK" warning with alert tones appears in the dash. No other warning lights or malfunction lights are on in my dash display. The vehicle is available for inspection with advanced notice so that I can make arrangements.

My car shut off on the road. I tried to accelerate but all my lights on the dashboard came on. I wasn’t able to accelerate more than 20mph. I was about to make it back home. Today I tried to take it out on a test drive, it’s drivable but I was not able to accelerate. Every time I pressed the gas, my car would stall. This is the 4th time it happened.

When driving at low speeds there is a knocking noise when turning from one direction to the other. This issue can also be replicated while stopped. No safety issues have resulted from this issue, but can foresee this becoming a more severe problem in the near future.

Radio/Infotainment system displays: Please insert USB drive containing valid software license file and press OK. I do not have a software license. The dealer asked me on 12/19/25 to contact American Honda. I got a case # that day of #XXX and was assigned a case manager who then went on vacation from 12/25 to 1/5. I understand that. Since then, Case Manager and American Honda is not responding to my calls or Jeff Wyler Honda Dealership in Cincinnati Ohio. The dealer said they need the USB with the license info. American Honda is not responding. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The recall for the 2025 accord hybrids should be extended to more models. I have the se trim and I'm having the same issues. Also when I use air condition or heat there's a grinding noise. I brought to the dealer multiple times and showed them videos of it making the sound with no resolution. The grinding noise problem has been ever since I got the car and was always told there is no problem.

Tachometer/speedometer screen completely black or dark. It will show the Honda logo and make sound. But once I’m driving or once the car is started it doesn’t show any rpm’s or the menu for miles, safety information or anything on that screen.

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while slowly pulling into a parking spot at approximately 2 MPH, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated and crashed into the rear end of another parked and unoccupied vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle sustained front grill, fenders, headlights, and bumpers damaged, and the camera cords were hanging out of the grill. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. The contact parked the vehicle and went into the restaurant to have a meal with her friends. The contact stated that upon returning to the vehicle, the contact met the owner of the other vehicle. The contact stated that the rear of the other vehicle sustained significant damage, and the owner was able to pull into another spot but had expressed concerns about driving the vehicle. No police report was filed. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was later towed to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the failure recurred, causing the vehicle to crash into two other parked and unoccupied vehicles. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. One of the vehicles sustained a fractured rear passenger exterior light, and the other vehicle sustained a dent on the rear passenger's side fender. The contact's vehicle sustained rear-end damage and was towed to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired. A police report was filed. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure recurred while reversing out of the driveway on another occasion, and the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole and into an unoccupied parked vehicle. There was no injury sustained. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact's vehicle sustained rear passenger's side fender damage, and the fender was hanging. The telephone pole was damaged and was replaced. The other vehicle sustained rear passenger-side fender damage. The dealer and the manufacturer w

The vehicle at speed from 40mph and upwards has sticky steering issues that require potential overcorrection from the driver to maintain the vehicle on a straight path. When the driver attempts to make subtle in-lane corrections to keep the vehicle on a straight path, the driver is unable to make small adjustments without the steering making larger adjustments and having to over-correct (ex. if the driver wanted to move the steering wheel 0.5mm, the steering wheel only moves in 1mm increments). Additionally, on following curves that require the driver to adjust the steering wheel about 3-10 degrees in either direction, the steering wheel will stick and not naturally straighten out. The Honda Dealership of Chantilly, VA was able to replicate the issue and was not able to give any reason or develop a path to a solution for the owner to safely operate this Honda. There are also no warning lights or signals, I have also attempted most driving conditions (hot and cold temperatures, all speeds, and different highways), with and without driver assistance programs activated, heated steering wheel on and off, and different steering wheel adjustment positions to attempt to solve the issue at hand. These issues appeared shortly after purchase of the vehicle in late October 2025 and this issue happens on a daily basis. This steering issue presents as a safety issue due to the driver not being able to smoothly steer and having to over-correct for the steering malfunction. In any driving environment, the driver should expect to have a smooth driving experience to promote safety among all drivers on the roads. Additionally, this steering issue may be related to the already diagnosed issue of Honda gearboxes malfunctioning in previous model years. I have uploaded a service record from the Honda of Chantilly Dealership that includes the mileage and complaint from owner.

With longer drives the steering wheel sticks while trying to make minor corrections to maintain going straight. When it does turn to make a small correction it tends to drift right or left, without actually being able to make the car go straight. The stickiness of the steering makes center impossible.

2017 Honda Accord Touring Model, once car heats up, radio begins to make a static noise that gradually gets louder until it gets to a point that is extremely loud. It is very distracting and damages hearing, making it difficult to drive, causing a serious driving hazard. It does not matter if the radio is on or off and turning the volume down does not help at all. Shutting the engine off and restarting the car is the only way to get it to stop.

The infotainment screen glitches all the time while driving and while stopped. Examples of this include the screen zooming out of your navigation then no longer responding to your touches, leading you to take your eyes off the road and get distracted. The screen also makes random phone calls and hangs up calls. The screen will quickly change to another app or screen creating quick flashes and distractions especially driving at night. Also, while in reverse the different camera views are unavailable because the screen won’t respond to your touches. This is a huge distraction while driving and makes for an unsafe driving experience. The dealer said years ago that they could replace the screen but the parts are on back order and it’s been months of no response from them every time we ask about a replacement unit. Others have also reported replacing the screen doesn’t solve the issue as it just keeps happening again. Honda should recall all these defective units.

Honda accords have a 1.5 L engine, which all have an issue with the head gaskets either overheating or mixing coolant into the cylinders. They’re all doing it eventually because there is a design flaw Honda doesn’t want to honor it and the car will just stop on you on the freeway because coolant touches the spark plugs. Honda is denying the issue when there’s a whole Facebook page and Internet, page of people saying the same thing they’re quoting and unreasonable amount to fix it almost the cost of the car. It is a very dangerous safety issue and eventually someone could die and needs to make a recall immediately before that happens. Most shops don’t even want to touch the car because it’s a safety issue. If we can get this past ASAP for anybody who has that car or anybody that’s gonna buy that car the safety for them in their family.

In May 2022, the air conditioning condenser on my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid was replaced due to AC failure. In April 2023, shortly after purchasing the vehicle following a lease buyout, I returned with the same AC issue and was told the condenser may have been defective and it was replaced again. I then took the vehicle to another authorized Honda dealership, where I was told the condenser may not have been replaced previously, and it was replaced again. Dye was added to the AC system at South Motors Honda to identify a leak. Despite this, Largo Honda later charged me again to add dye, stating they could not access the prior dealership’s diagnostic records, even though both are Honda-authorized dealerships. After continued AC failure, two authorized Honda dealerships have now diagnosed the issue as a leaking air conditioning evaporator and documented the failure with video evidence. Loss of air conditioning impacts driver safety by impairing windshield defogging and creating unsafe cabin temperatures, particularly in hot weather. This represents a premature failure of a non-wear component. This issue has persisted since 2022. The manufacturer declined repair assistance despite repeated repairs and dealer-confirmed diagnostics.

- #11711426January 16, 2026FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was started, there was an abnormal cranking sound coming from the engine with several unknown warning lights illuminated. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was an abnormal fuel-burning odor coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was almost involved in a crash due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not inspected or diagnosed. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with fuel pump failure. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was taken to another dealer to be diagnosed; however, the vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. A case manager was assigned, and the contact was waiting to hear from the case manager. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

I have recently noticed my audio system has static even when it is turned off and when it's turned on, it get's worse. (The static noise is loud, it starts from the back speaker then works it's way to the front speakers) This just started at the end of December 2025 and it's increasing getting worse. I do not feel safe having my family in the car with me because the static noise is on going and can cause overstimulation. The only time I do not hear the audio static no more is when I completely shut my car off. I believe this needs to be recalled and fixed because this is a safety concern. I called Honda and they told me it's going to cost $205 dollars just for the diagnosed. This is outrageous. I have talked to other people I know and they have told me they are experiencing this with their vehicle as well.
