While driving steering wheel becomes resistant at times, when attempting to turn left or right or navigating a curve steering wheel resist thus having to give extra effort to accomplish task. During this time steering wheel becomes very difficult to turn, then becomes free turning and immediately returns to being tight. At times steering acts as if you're going between a power steering wheel to a non power steering. Having such issues could definitely reduce ones reaction time when steering.

- #11623261November 2, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving in between 40 and 50 miles per hour and the automatic braking got activated automatically for a few seconds. The road was clear and there were no vehicles or obstacles anywhere. It was about 9.15 am and approx temp was 40 F. This is the second time it occurred. The car is not under factory warranty and the dealer would be charging diagnostic fees and unlikely to find anything wrong.

Steering is sticky and difficult to turn sometimes. Sometimes the steering loosens up very quickly resulting in a very fast turn, making it very dangerous. On a regular turn, the steering wheel almost jitters, providing uneven No codes or warnings have shown up. Honda wants $4000 to replace the entire eps rack but have not stated a definitive issue with it. This all started out of nowhere, I was driving in a neighborhood and the steering went haywire.

While driving on the highway at approximately 65 mph, the car warning system beeped and displayed several error messages, including problems with the power steering, braking, and road mitigation systems. I was told to get my car to the dealer immediately. I also noticed that the car seemed to be losing acceleration power. As I was driving in traffic, my main concern was to get the car off the highway ASAP, so I was not able to note all the warnings. I did exit the highway, coasting off an exit ramp, having lost all or most power. After shutting off and restarting the car, all messages cleared except the warning of a potential brake failure, and I think the TPMS warning. I was now able to drive the car home with full power. The brakes, steering, and everything else seemed fine. After getting home, I shut off the car for about 30 minutes and when I restarted it, all errors had cleared. The car then drove fine and after the weekend, I took it to my dealer. They ran the error codes, and there were some codes, but nothing indicating a problem. They said it was fine to drive, but to let them know if I had additional problems.

My check engine light came on and an alert for an "emissions system problem" appeared. The engine made a revving sound when starting the car, and it felt like the vehicle might stall while driving to the mechanic. The local Honda dealership in Mount Kisco, NY was unable to diagnose the problem, but a trusted mechanic identified that the fuel pump under known recall was the issue. He ordered a new part from a different local Honda dealership in Yorktown, NY.

I am filing a complaint regarding the lack of a remedy for the recall on my vehicle, 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ). Per the NHTSA website, “due to improper production of the high-pressure fuel pump in the vehicle…a fuel leak can occur when the high-pressure fuel pump is in operation”. The safety risk of this issue is that “if a fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, the risk of a fire, crash, or injury are increased”. On [XXX] I had a Hyundai Sonata Sport that was in perfect condition and up to date on its maintenance that spontaneously combusted while being towed from NYC to NJ. I lost thousands of dollars of items as well as the 1st car I purchased on my own. The incident was traumatic, and it is thought that the reason it occurred was an undiagnosed fuel leak in the vehicle. To now find out that the car that I leased right after this incident also has the potential to have the same outcome is very unsettling. I called my Honda dealership and Honda corporate regarding this issue on 10/29/2024 and was told I need to wait until December for a letter in the mail with instructions on how the issue will be remedied. Honda was unwilling to give me a guarantee that my car is safe to drive and was unwilling to inspect my car unless I smelled gas in the car or saw gas under the car after it was running. This situation is extremely distressing and not reasonable. I trusted Honda to provide me with a safe, reliable vehicle. I request that I am given a replacement vehicle of equal value without a recall on it, or an inspection of the vehicle looking to see if my car has a defective fuel pump.
