SummaryThis article supersedes TSB 23-2194 to add Figure 1 and update the parts list. Some 2022-2023 F-150 vehicles built on 23-August-2022 and through 30-April-2023 equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter adaptor to engine block mounting area. This may be due to block porosity just below the oil filter adapter near the main bearing cap outer bolt.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 vehicles may exhibit an intermittent pop up message on the center display screen stating Pro Power Onboard is not available. This may be due to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software. Replacement or reprogramming of the APIM will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q3 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in Q3 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in the headlamp control module (HCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to a HCM communication error within a specified timeframe. DTC U211B:87 does not affect vehicle durability with no effect on vehicle operation and no additional diagnostics or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q2 2024. Replacement or reprogramming of the HCM will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost may set incorrect cylinder misfire DTCs while the CSER monitor is active. The CSER monitor runs for approximately 3 minutes after a cold soak start-up. If a misfire occurs while the CSER monitor is running, the powertrain control module (PCM) software strategy may set an incorrect cylinder misfire code. Prior to a repair attempt, allow the vehicle to run for at least 3 minutes and verify any individual cylinder misfire codes by performing a Power Balance Test using the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q3 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in Q3 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SummaryDuring service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

SummarySome 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles may exhibit DTCs B1D08:11 and/or B1D09:11 stored in the trailer module (TRM) with a Trailer Brake System Fault See Manual message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) when a trailer is not connected to the vehicle. This may be due to water intrusion at the back side of the trailer tow connector. Inspect connector C4099 and the trailer tow connector (14489) for signs of corrosion or damage. If corrosion or damage is present at either connector, replace the female side of the C4099 connector using service pig tail kit (3U2Z-14S411-JXC) and the trailer tow connector. If corrosion or damage is not present, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 417-01 Exterior Lighting, Diagnosis and Testing for additional diagnosis. For claiming, use causal part 14489 and applicable labor operations in Section 01 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0534:00 in the powertrain control module (PCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to the PCM responding to large changes in ambient temperatures from warm to below freezing when the vehicle has less than 62 miles (100 km) and still in a rapid learn mode for the ambient air temperature logic. The rapid update to the temperature can result in the vehicle setting this DTC. DTC P0534:00 does not affect vehicle drivability and has no effect on vehicle operation. No additional diagnostics or service is required for this condition at this time. DTC P0534:00 is a background diagnostic code for service only and does not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench), or provide any indication to the vehicle operator. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q2 2024. Replacement or reprogramming of the PCM will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional informati

SummarySome 2021-2023 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal. When reinstalling the starter motor, be sure the starter is flush with the engine-to-transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. Failure to do so may result in damaging newly installed engine-to-transmission spacer plate.
