SummarySome 2024 F-150 non-Lightning vehicles may exhibit modules on the high-speed controller area network 3 (HS-CAN3), medium-speed controller area network 1 (MS-CAN1), medium-speed controller area network 2 (MS-CAN2), and/or the flexible data rate controller area network 2 (FD-CAN2) not responding to the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and the modules on these networks fail the network test without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) tied to the affected modules. The modules on the flexible data rate controller area network 2 (FD-CAN1) and the high-speed controller area network 1 (HS-CAN1) will communicate with the FDRS. Vehicles equipped with a power opening/closing tailgate may also exhibit an intermittent inoperative power tailgate. This may be due to the gateway module A (GWM) not being configured properly. To correct this condition, download and run the GWM - Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration application using the latest version of the FDRS. For claiming, use causal part number 14G490 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.

SummaryThis article supersedes TSB 24-2168 to address revised software for 2022-2023 HVAC modules. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a gasoline, hybrid or flex fuel engine (non-Lightning, non-diesel) may exhibit inoperative A/C, lack of air flow, and/or evidence of the evaporator freezing. This may be due to the software level of the PCM and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) module. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM and HVAC module to the latest software level via the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS)

SummarySome 2024 F-150 non-Lightning vehicles may exhibit passive entry feature inoperative on all doors and/or "No Key Detected" message in the IPC, even though the 12V battery state of charge (SOC) is over 50% and no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored in the BCM. This may be due to the software level of the body control module (BCM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the BCM using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B15F0:15 in the image processing module A (IPMA) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to an IPMA communication error within a specified timeframe. DTC B15F0:15 does not affect vehicle durability with no effect on vehicle operation and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPMA will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q4 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update by December 2024.

SummarySome 2021-2024 F-150/Bronco and 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles built with SYNC 4 require a connected phone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active to enable voice interactions and use of the steering wheel voice control button. This is due to the affected vehicles not having built in voice interactions capability. Vehicles with built in voice interaction capability can be identified as also being equipped with the built in connected navigation feature which includes a navigation tab on the center display screen. Diagnostics should only be performed for voice interactions on vehicles equipped with built in voice interaction capability or with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active.

SummarySome 2021-2024 F-150 non-Raptor vehicles equipped with 4WD and ESOF transfer case (minor feature code FMLAS) may exhibit an intermittent grinding/hum/rumble noise from the front wheel area while in 2WD that goes away when the vehicle is put into 4WD. These vehicles will also have no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the transfer case control module (TCCM). To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This may be due to incomplete disengagement of the integrated wheel end (IWE) actuator assemblies. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace IWE actuator assemblies

This may be due to an enabled door reinforcement inertia lock within the exterior door handle. This condition occurs when the doors are closed or opened with excessive force. To correct this condition, follow the door reinforcement inertia lock rest procedure that has been added to Section 501-14 of the Workshop Manual under General Procedures. For claiming, use causal part 78219A64.

SummarySome 2021-2024 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace the engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal. When reinstalling the starter motor, make sure the starter is flush with the engine-to-transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. Failure to do so may result in damaging the newly installed engine-to-transmission spacer plate.
