This is the second time this has happened resulting in loss of my reliable transportation to/work, major repair while still in warrenty, WITHOUT vehicle loaner, rental or replacement during that time. I was again at the top of a steep hill- this time heading onto the highway- but midway into one of the busiest intersections in town. I heard a loud sound followed by mechanical spinning/winding when I try to accelerate on the green light. When I tried to drive or remove my food from the break, my car went backward down the hill and into oncoming traffic. Restarting my car didn’t help as park and drive didn’t engage. The only control I now had was the steering wheel and brake system. There were no warning signs before, during or after the ordeal. I’m not certain my lighting system worked on the outside of my vehicle as cars continued to approach the line I was in to turn left despite my hazard lights. My lights and electrical system did however work internally. I called Ford’s roadside helpline and told them I was trapped on a hill with limited control, with piles of cars behind me and I was afraid my brakes were also at risk of failing. I emphasized the emergency I was in. However, Ford Roadside was only allowed to dispatched a tow truck from 73 minutes away because the company located just 10 minutes away was not in contract with them. I also called the police to assist with traffic build up behind me as I was blocking traffic and in serious danger because I couldn’t exit the car without it rolling. I also called the out of contract tow company and paid the $200 out of pocket. I spent over an hour holding my foot on the break before help arrived.

I live in Texas. Our daughter's car is inoperable due to recall from Ford and we have tried to contact ford customer relations and keep getting passed from person to person. The parts are unavailable and they don’t have a definite timeline. The dealership is also unable to get a response from Ford. I have also mailed a formal letter. The car has been inoperable since January 26, 2024. What can I do to get Ford to respond and provide a recall refund? They are unable to remedy in a timely manner and we cannot continue with the hardships from not having a vehicle for work, which requires travel.

Unknown. About two weeks ago my car started periodically not starting. There were no indications of an issue. The car would operate as normal now the car check engine light is on. I have taken it to the dealership knowing about the recall they stated the issue is likely caused by the recall and they will not have the part to fix it until Q3 or Q4 of this year. I have already been stuck away from home 3 times and fear the car is going to shut down while driving. I do not have a nother form of transportation for work and getting my child to school. I can not wait until the end of the year for the vehicle to be fixed and don't want to drive it and risk others safety.

- #11578473March 20, 2024SUSPENSION, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE
In February, while I was driving on the interstate, I started to lose the ability to control the speed of my car. I pulled over and shut off my car. When I tried to start the car again, it wouldn't start. After I towed it home, I tried jump starting and an error message popped up stating it was the engine oil pump belt tensioner. After speaking with Ford customer service and a Service manager, I was told it could be by August before my car could be fixed.

- #11578587March 20, 2024ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, SERVICE BRAKES
My engine had blown under warranty. They had replaced the engine, which took two weeks once I got my car back, about a week or two later, check engine, lights and warnings pops back on. I return to Ford to assess the problem and they reassured me that the warnings were just because they replaced the engine and they should disappear shortly. Two weeks have gone by and the warnings were still there and my car had started driving awkwardly again. I returned to forward to get my car, repaired under warranty and receive a loaner vehicle to remain doing my every day job with. They did not have any loaner cars and did not have availability to work on my vehicle for three months. They called me with availability. My warranty was up and they were unable to fix my engine since I have lost the house I was living in. Became homeless. And now I’ve got myself back in a house and working to get my car repaired. This is caused a lot of damage for me and my family as we have still been unable to get the car repaired and it has been almost 4 years since I took my car into ford for the repair. Now that it is recalled, they still do not have a solution, and they will not allow me to return the car to them for a loaner car until they do fix the vehicle.

The vehicle frequently loses power yet it is not consistent enough to determine a pattern. Sometimes I am simply backing out of my driveway, sometimes I am accelerating after a stop sign, sometimes I am accelerating while entering on the freeway, sometimes I am simply driving down the freeway. What is consistent are the symptoms. The vehicle loses power, like it’s running out of gas. I cannot accelerate for a brief moment. If I press on the gas pedal to give it more power, sometimes it works and powers through the problem, sometimes it does not. It typically happens either in reverse, or when I am accelerating between 0 to 70. One time I was getting on the freeway, and the car would not go over 60. There is a car quickly approaching behind me and a Semi in the far left lane, so the car behind me had to honk the horn and slam on the brakes, because my car lost power right at the bottom of the entrance ramp. It continued until I let off, I posted for a couple moments, and then tried to slowly accelerate. I was able to get up to 70 before it lost power again.
