There was no warning. The vehicle just shut off. I replaced the battery and had alternator checked it is fine. If I drive on a side road or hit a bump in the road, the van shuts off. I have no brakes or steering. I called the recall number and they said it is not on the recall list. My van was made in 09/2009. Maybe there are others not on list. I just bought the vehicle, maybe that is why they sold it. Please help me.

The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the rear passenger's sliding door would not open as needed. Additionally, the front driver's side window would not roll up as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for the passenger's side sliding door and diagnosed that the door actuator was positioned upside down. The vehicle was repaired, however, there was an abnormal buzzing sound coming from the passenger's side door. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, who diagnosed that the door actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic for the front driver's side window and diagnosed with a faulty window regulator. The window regulator was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the X98 (Sliding Door Actuator) Extended Warranty. The manufacturer referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was 59,943.

Many times, I've tried to contact someone about this problem, and I've search other blogs in relation to the same problem. My driver's side door will not unlock with remote nor from inside the car. all other doors work fine but the driver's side doesn't unlock unless I use the emergency key to unlock it. At first it was working for a week or so than stopped. And then it would work again then stop. Now, forget about it. Stopped working completely. Many blogs have mentioned a faulty door lock actuator. And that is common, but I've tried to contact the manufacture with email and messages and no response. God forbid if I or my wife has to run into the driver side for any reason and can't because the door won't open like its suppose to.

Both sliding doors will not open manually or with the key fob. The lock is permanently stuck in place. I was told it was due to a bad actuator. When you google this issue there are 1000’s of other people that have this same issue. This is a huge safety concern as if I were in an accident all of my rear passengers wouldn’t be able to get out of the car. Meaning my children would be STUCK. this is so unsafe.

The driver's side sliding door will not open, manually or electronically. This apparently is a VERY common issue for Dodge and is a very big safety concern. We have brought it to make mechanics and all have stated that is is extremely expensive to fix and almost impossible to find the needed parts. I have children in the car, and this is a very big safety concern. We also cannot get rid of the car, sell it or trade it due to this issue. The amount of people with the similar issue on the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan is alarming and this should be taken care of asap.

A month, or so ago our passenger slide sliding door started making a loud buzzing sound when we unlocked the doors. That is annoying, but to me is not a safety issue, so wasn't too concerned about it. What is going on with our driver side sliding door now I do believe is a safety issue and needs to be part of a recall. The driver side sliding door was refusing to unlock, or open sometimes but now it is all the time. We are unable to manually unlock it to use the door. It is stuck in the lock position and totally unusable now as we are unable to manually unlock it by hand and unable to unlock it using the door locks, or the the remote. The lights flash when i click the button on the remote to open that door, but it doesn't respond and unlock it. What is gonna happen when the other door decides to do the same thing and no one can get out of the van in the case of an emergency. This needs to be a recall and be fixed for all the families that drive and love your vans. We've never had an issue like this with our previous years of Dodge vans. I got the warranty thing in the mail for this to be fixed with 150,000 miles, or less. At the time I got the letter ours was only doing the buzzing sound on the one door, but it already had 160,000 miles on it, so it was past the warranty time to get fixed. While driving down the highway the engine shut off. The electrical continued but all power was lost. I had to pull off on the left side of the road to avoid being hit by vehicles who immediately began passing me on the right. After stopping and putting my emergency lights on the vehicle struggled to restart. after a minute it started up and I was able to continue down the road. No check engine light came on. The van simply just shut the engine off while driving.

The actuator on the sliding door of the minivan is stuck in the unlocked position. This means that the door cannot lock under any circumstances. When driving the door remains unlocked and there is no way to lock it. The other sliding door was previous stuck in the locked position and I had it replaced by a mechanic.

I have purchased my 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan new in 2014 and I purchased a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan for my daughter. Both required transmissions replaced? My unfortunately was out of warranty for time not miles driven. My daughter's vehicle was covered by the warrantee. The first issue with my vehicle was wheel bearing going out. When they checked more in depth they discovered metal pieces in the transmission fluid. As a result my vehicle required a new transmission as did my daughter's vehicle. What I find very interesting is that the dealership had transmissions in stock? Seems like this is a bigger issue than they let on.

The accelerator pedal sticks in full throttle and forces the car to speed forward. Brakes barely overcome the acceleration and the engine will accelerate from a complete stop. Super dangerous and there are a number of threads on vehicle forums that describe the situation

Engine oil filter adapter assembly failure of Manufacturer OEM Part Numbers: 68105583AA, 68105583AB, 68105583AC, 68105583AD, 68105583AF, 68105583AE This failure results in many safety concerns to include engine bay fires. The inferior plastic OEM part is prone to failures causing pressurized oil leaks at the top of the engine that contaminate many other parts to include the exhaust manifold, exhaust components inclusive of the catalytic converter which operates at normal temperature exceeding 650 degrees F. Flash fires accrue frequently in this regard and engaging the occupants, others, environment, and may result in fatalities. There are no check engine lights or safety warnings of any kind for this failure unless oil pressure is lost after the fact. The OEM parts is not a suitable material for typical engine temps exceeding temps of 200F and will break down on a molecular basis. There is currently an aluminum upgrade manufactured by Dorman, part number 926-876 that is not supported nor provided by Mopar. I am a retired ASE Master Technician with over 40 years of experience. I have seen over 30 instances of this failure effecting a wide rage of 2014 Chrysler vehicles with the 3.2 and 3.6 liter gas engines. Vehicle mileage is not a factor in this regard. Inferior simply put, OEM Product, plus time, plus normal engine temps will cause the molecular material breakdown and thus component failure. It is aggravated by oil change procedures when even skilled technicians try to change the filter by removing the cover or over torque the cover and fracture the now brittle inferior materials. Internally we have also noticed severe chemical softening of the housing sealing surfaces that remain in constant contact with engine oil. This further proves the inferior product material incompatibilities. Please validate ASAP to begin a Recall campaign that will surely prevent future fatalities or catastrophic damage to personal property or the environment.

The right (passenger side) sliding door is locked closed and will not open from the inside or outside. Rear-seat passengers are being forced to exit through the windows, rear hatch, front doors, or the other sliding door. This is not only an unnecessary inconvenience but also potentially very dangerous if there's an accident when occupants need to exit the vehicle quickly. I will take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptom prior to the failure. The problem first appeared two days ago, the van has less that 100,000 miles.
