This specific year and all models in 2021 Durango’s including SRT, GT, GT Plus , TnG , vehicle has a known issue with the driver side DRL ( Daytime Running Lights) completely going out and not working very early into its life . I believe this is a safety issue that the manufacturer should fix themselves as it’s a defect wiring / headlight issue that is affecting thousands of customers. SECONDLY, this car comes with an issue in the taillight not being properly sealed and allowing water into the LEDS , burning them out and being needed replaced . Both of these issues comes from the manufacturer/ factory and are safety issues/risk known in thousands of Durangos which should definitely be recalled .

I am a police officer and this is in regards to my police department vehicle and another one on the department. The windshield has a deformation in it and causing a "ghosting" issue. It is mainly an issue at night but it affects my vision. To best describe the issue it feels like you are not able to properly focus and go cross eyed. When sitting still and moving your head around can see images distort. Headlights appear as 4 with the second set of lights ghost like. We received 4 new Durango's this year and two of them have this issue. James Chrysler in Cedar Lake Replaced the windshield and the windshield issue is the same. They are looking into getting another windshield to hopefully fix it. I have spoken with other agencies and the same issue is also in other Durango's. The term ghosting I learned after google defined it as that. This is a risk as it causes excessive strain on the eyes of the operator. The other officer on the department has been through several contacts after I brought up my issue she realized that her windshield had the same issue. The image shared with this is how all lights look through the windshield. The further you are from the source the greater distance between source and ghost image.

Vehicle will not shift into drive. This issue is similar to the ZB3 problem. Improperly heat treated shifter parts failed and will not allow the transmission to shift into drive.

After complying with Recall 24V436000, the Navigation screen is stuck in Night Time Mode. This causes the streets to become very hard to see during the day. While entered routes are highlighted, cross streets are almost invisible. I have missed turns because of it. I believe this diverts the driver's attention away from looking ahead to attempting to read the Nav Screen. FCA knows about this and has documented it on Star Online, Case Number 258A000012, indicating they are not going to fix it. I believe this is unsatisfactory and is leading to distracted driving. More importantly this is now being reported on various forums and people are indication they have decided not to comply with the recall. I don't believe this is in the NHTSA best interest.

My 2021 Dodge Durango drivers side daytime running light went out around 55,000 miles. I do have an extended warranty through the manufacturer, but was informed that this is not a covered part despite it being a known issue and a “max care warranty”. The reason being that it is considered a “bulb” however to replace it requires the entire new left headlamp assembly to be replaced, per the dealership. This is a high cost of around $1650. Regardless of the cost, This is a safety issue and a concern for myself as well as others on the road. I understand that this is a known and ongoing problem with the 2021 dodge durangos in particular the drivers side daytime running light which does not have a safe, cost effective fix. I ask for you to take a look at the many people who have been impacted and the safety concern associated with this.

My vehicle experienced failure of both the driver-side DRL (Daytime Running Light) and the passenger-side front turn signal within a short period of time. On this model year, both components are part of a sealed LED headlight assembly with no replaceable bulbs. The only repair option is full headlight assembly replacement, quoted at $800–$1,200 per side plus labor. This is a safety issue because front DRL and turn signal failure reduces vehicle visibility to oncoming traffic. Online reports show numerous other 2021–2023 Durango owners experiencing the same problem with the LED DRL/turn-signal assemblies, suggesting a pattern of premature failure. Stellantis has also faced known issues with sealed LED lighting on the Durango’s ‘racetrack’ taillight assemblies, indicating a broader LED reliability issue on these vehicles. I am requesting NHTSA review this as a potential safety-related defect, as owners are forced into high-cost headlight replacements due to non-serviceable LED modules failing early.

Radio works for years it gets a update, it stops working, months of back and forth with software people say I’ll need to pay for a diagnostic to have them replace it, I paid got it on paper that a software update killed radio and software team told me to kick rocks. Pay out of pocket for an update I didn’t want killing my radio. Feels beyond illegal and I see others on forms with same exact problem and situation

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON DRIVER'S SIDE INOP. DUE TO LED STRIPS IN HEADLAMPS NOT WORKING. SOMEONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME FROM A SIDE ROAD, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL OF YEARS FROM DODGE. THERE ARE NO WARNING LAMPS OR ANY SYMPTOMS. I NOTICED IT WHEN I PARKED IN FRONT OF A STORE AND NOTICED IN THE REFLECTION IN THE GLASS THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DRL NOT WORKING AND REMEMBERED SOMEONE PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF ME EARLIER THAT DAY AND WONDERED IF THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE REASON FOR THIS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BETTER BULB REPLACEMENT REQUIREMENT FROM THE GOVERNMENT TO KEEP MANUFACTURERS FROM REQUIRING A WHOLE $1200 HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY (PLUS LABOR) JUST BECAUSE A COUPLE OF LED STRIPS STOPPED WORKING. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM SINCE THERE ARE MANY FORUMS ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLAMP DRL'S GOING OUT.

Vehicle Sudden Unintended Acceleration – Safety Complaint Vehicle: 2022 Dodge Durango Weather: Rain Situation: The vehicle was at an almost complete stop at a red light and in a 5 feet distance from the car in front. Without pressing the accelerator, the car suddenly surged forward at significant force and hit the vehicle in front of us. There was no driver input on the accelerator. The incident appeared to be caused by an electronic or computer malfunction, possibly related to moisture from the rain. This could have resulted in serious injury or death if another vehicle had not been in front of us to stop the acceleration. Please investigate this issue, as it represents a major safety risk.

My fuel tank was practically emptied by "gas thieves". The fuel filler compartment remains unlocked regardless of whether the vehicle is locked or unlocked. And the filler tube where the gas nozzle is inserted is capless, with just a rubber seal that expands when the nozzle is inserted. In previous models Dodge used to have a button inside the cabin right below the headlights switch to release the fuel filler door, and a safety puller string in the back of the vehicle, should the button fail to release the locked door. Not anymore, and this appears to be a cost saving change/decision in detriment of the consumer. This lack of safety feature is also true for RAM 1500 pick up trucks. Dodge does not offer a locking cap option for the capless fuel filler tube, nor could I find an aftermarket one. A major concern of mine is what would happen should the vehicle roll down or lay on a side? Would the fuel in the tank come gushing out, and possibly cause a fire or even an explosion? Will appreciate your further investigation and response to this issue.

2021 Dodge Durango failing headlight assembly, specifically the driver side turn signal. Numerous Durango owners are experiencing the same issue with the Dodge Durango headlight malfunction, I've have more than one close accident incident due to the failed turn signal. It's like Dodge don't want to stand behind their product and address the concern of millions of Dodge Durango owners who are having these issues. Not even a simple acknowledgement of the issue and any potential effort to help fix the problems for the owners. I must say Dodge has lost a future buyer due to their lack of support on their own product.

My driver's side Daytime Running Light quit working a few weeks ago, however last week when I used remote start the DRL came on, but sadly it is out again. I have 80,000. miles on the vehicle. DRL's should last for life of car but blogs on the 21-24 models indicate many owners having the same issue with driver's side DRL's. I went to Dodge dealer and was quoted $1,953.00 to repair! Manufacturers should not be permitted to engineer this kind of equipment for a vehicle that makes repairs prohibitive economically. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BUT SHOULD BE. BTW, the repair includes removing the front bumper with grille just to get to the headlight for repair.

Daytime Running Lights- the drivers side daytime running light has stopped working-like many other people have reported repair under warranty is being denied by Dodge FCA as a wear item, it is an integrated system and not a bulb as they are saying. It creates a safely issue that they refuse to repair under warranty.

2021 Dodge Durango with 40K miles on it. Like many other drivers of this specific SUV and year the front driver side LED Daylight Running Lights have suddenly stopped working. The same applies to the rear 3rd brake light. Based on discussion boards this seems to be a common issue.
