The contact’s customer owns a 2013 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while the valet driver was driving, the front driver’s side seat inadvertently retracted back along the track bracket without warning. As a result, the contact stated that the valet driver was trapped in the vehicle. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V804000 (Seats). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was unavailable.

Low beam headlights are very dim . Changed bulbs with no improvement. This is dangerous to occupants in my vehicle and oncoming traffic because we have to use high beams all the time at night.this was seen by dealer and I was told there was no problem.

The headlights on my 2015 SRX are faulty--even GM admits it. They are so dim that it is dangerous to drive at night unless I keep my high beams on at all times, which is dangerous to other drivers. Without the high beams on at night, the reduced headlight performance prevents me from seeing more than 5 feet in front of my car. There was no warning--the lights simply dimmed to the point where I thought I didn't turn them on--but they are automatic on, just dim. The dealer has told me I need to fix the entire headlight assembly, at a cost of $2800.

VIN [XXX] My headlights are so dim, it is dangerous to drive at night even after replacing the bulbs for same reason in last year. Called Cadillac of Dublin. [XXX] tells me there is a reimbursement for the headlight assembly as a part of a lawsuit, but I need to bring in car to be sure that’s the problem. [XXX] checked me in, then called with estimate. Headlight Assembly Repair Diagnostic - $179.50 + $1,450 - $1,500 replacement cost Called GM Recall Department Headlight problem no longer has any reimbursement or recourse. Representative: [XXX] Reimbursements were given until 12/2021 Extended to June 30, 2022, which was a hard cutoff I asked how I was suppose to know. [XXX] says I was notified by a Different Team. He investigated and returned with this answer: Next to impossible to locate where mailed. I did not receive the notice. Handled by 3rd party mailing —- Analytics company 1st letter ~ 2020. [XXX] doesn’t think they will look anything up because the case is over now, but thinks it might be worth a try. He states that GM has no additional recourse for me at this time. Class action lawsuits have been filed against General Motors by plaintiffs who allege that moisture can become trapped in the headlights of the Cadillac SRX crossover, posing a potential safety hazard. According to Bloomberg, the lawsuits claims the headlights found in 2010-2015 model year Cadillac SRX crossovers have weather seals that may erode prematurely. This can allow moisture to enter the headlight casing, which may cause the bulb to either dim or burn out entirely. “Such malfunctions will necessarily result in low visibility at best, which can contribute to injurious, or even fatal, traffic accidents,” the lawsuit says. This is a known problem by GM since 2011. My car is a 2012 and assembly wasn’t redesigned or fixed. I’m bought my car in 2019 and did not receive any notice in the mail. This should be a recall! I'm stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. I received a recall notice in August 2021 and again in November 2021 and reached out to Cadillac to find out how to resolve this issue. I was told that someone from Cadillac would contact me. I received another notice November 2022 due to the recall not being resolved. I'm not getting a response from Cadillac. How do I resolve this issue being stationed overseas? I'm not scheduled to return until February 2025 and the Government will not ship a vehicle if there are any RECALL notices on the vehicle. The GM safety recall is N212340980. Requesting assistance in resolving this RECALL notice. Thank you.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I have extremely dim headlights. I have to drive with my high beams on but they are dim as well. I had the dealership look at the lights and was told that the bulbs are fine but there is a known issue with the seal and water getting in and corroding the lens so the light can't pass thru. I was told Cadillac won't recall it but know about it and it will cost me $2600 to replace the entire assembly. I was also told it won't pass inspection like this. I can barely see and that is a huge safety issue for me. I struggle to drive at night. I work in downtown Houston and drive over an hour up and back. I drive home in the dark and am struggling to see to drive. Im a single mom of two...$2600 is just not possible for me. In addition I was told by the service team that when they first found out about this...they offered discounts but you had to pay in full first, then file a claim but they are not offering discounts any longer. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHEN I DRIVE! This is not just a repair. This is a factory defect that should be fixed immediately under a recall. I will put today's date on the when, but my lights have gotten dimmer and dimmer over 2 years and now are dangerously dim.

Hello, problem is with the headlights being too dim for nighttime driving. Cannot travel safely most roads at night without turning on the highbeams. Reported issue to the local Cadillac dealer service center and was advised headlights would need total replacement as it is a known issue.

Dim headlamps that are non fixable by installing new lights.. headlamp assemblies in the 2016 Cadillac SRX suffer from defective seals that allow moisture to accumulate and condense, therefore damaging and dimming the headlight bulbs.

The headlights are very dim. i cannot see at night without using my bright lights. This a safety issues because I cannot see and other cars cannot see me. On 12-28-21 I took the car to Jim Hudson dealership. The diagnose was both headlights are very dim. Reflective silver coating within headlamp assemblies has faded. Will require 2 new assemblies. This is my second 2016 SRX and I had the exact same problem with the headlights. I believe this is a manufacturer issue.

The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she could not see out of the rear window. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that condensation had accumulated on the inside of the rear window. The contact also discovered that he was unable to open the rear hatch from the outside and had to use a screwdriver to open the hatch. Once opened, he discovered that the spare tire and rear side compartments were all filled with water. The rear hatch module was also submerged in water which led to the hatch failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Rear trunk/hatch lid: I had pressed the switch on the hatch lid to cause closing. At this point my wife walked too close to the closing hatch and it hit her, and continued to close, causing a gash on her forehead. I am of the belief that any contact made by the hatch and a foreign object will cause the hatch to reverse its closing action.

Head light on my 2016 SRX is getting water inside the lens and dimming and burning out the bulbs the temporary fix is to replace the whole light unit at a cost of 3000.00 with the same defective part that will re-create the issue at a later date. There needs to be a recall on this defected it is not the fault of the consumer and the consumer should not bear the expense of an factory default PP

The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, a squeaking noise was present coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the front brake pads and rotors, but the failure continued. Additionally, while driving at night with the low beam headlights activated, the headlights were extremely dim, making visibility extremely difficult while driving. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,700.

My suv has a noticeable sometimes unsafe lag in the transmission Sometimes 3-4 sec lag Had in dealership shop 2-3 times they cannot reproduce they say. There was a recall for this very issue in 2014. Says recall was performed but obviously did not fix it. It is now out of Warrenty and still lagging

Since I purchased this car secondhand, the headlights are very dim at night, and it is unable to see in the dark, unless if I have my highbeams on which is a big safety hazard. The class action act expired by the time I purchase a vehicle, and I was unaware of this at the purchase of the vehicle. I have been in contact with two different aftermarket warranty companies, and they are refusing to cover it, in contact with Cadillac and oh, they suggested it was an aftermarket warranty. I have been unable to get coverage for something I believe I should since it is a safety hazard and that is not anything at my fault.
