The contact owns a 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The infotainment display displayed a message indicating that the air bags were off, potentially compromising vehicle safety. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to provide a cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The failure mileage was 123,000.

The trunk closes on its own at all times. I was vacuuming on the back door area behind the driver’s side and the trunk closed and opened twice. Then I was vacuuming my trunk space and the trunk closed twice automatically once hitting me in the head and doesn’t have a sensor that senses a body or something or someone there. This is a very dangerous flaw and needs to be corrected before someone is killed by this!!!

SERVICE BRAKES
I was pulling forward in a parking garage and it nearly pinned a pedestrian into a parked car. The brakes didn't respond as normal. I had to put most of my weight on the pedal to bring the car to a stop. It was really scary. I took it to the dealer and they said it is a known issue covered under warranty and has to do with a vacuum pump used in the electronic brake system. I thought this was reckless and it should be fixed and not wait until a serious incident. The service advisor [XXX] from Tom Kelly Cadillac, Fort Wayne, IN) even commented that it scared him the first time he drove a customer's car with this issue. He was shocked how hard it was to stop. If this hasn't already, it will cost someone their life. Please help!!! I don't want someone to die for a known issue. Transmission brakes at speed, feels as if I got rear ended from the back. I know that there is lawsuits against GM for this same problem that I am having. GM knew about these transmission problems and told everyone that this 8 speed transmission was supposed to shift this way. But, now I have it parked in my driveway. Is there anyway that I can get my truck fixed?

INCIDENT: I was driving on the highway when I heard a strange "whistling noise." Thinking the noise originated from an old van in front of me, I passed it. The noise grew louder; the vehicle slowed very suddenly and, I pulled to the side of the road. The "low oil pressure" light came on just as the engine entirely blew. There were NO OTHER WARNING LAMPS, MESSAGES or OTHER SYMPTOMS. On-Star did not send roadside assistance for six hours and the battery died from extended use of the emergency lights. DANGERS: Experiencing catastrophic engine failure while driving on a highway presents obvious dangers as does sitting roadside for six hours (with a dead battery and no emergency flashers). INSPECTION: The G.M. Dealer (manufacturer representative) inspected the engine and confirmed that it was a catastrophic engine failure, requiring a new engine. The issue was also reported directly to G.M. The engine core, if need of further inspection, is likely either at the dealer, G.M., or a GM remanufacturing facility.

The engine seized while driving in the middle of the road. I was very fortunate that there was no incident. For others that drove at highway speed, accidents or fatalities may occur. GM is aware of this problem and elect not to do anything. Because of the high amount of engines faulty, the engines are 8-10 months back-order.

JUNE 2,2023, My 2016 WHITE Escalade (shown as black in picture?) 6.2 V8 , began shaking A LOT while driving along about 40 mph on a highway in Orlando. As a slowed down it continued to shake and started to stall while shaking as I approached idle. There was a lot noise that sounded as if coming from under the car. I was able to get the vehicle to the dealer GMC/Buick in Orlando and was told the rods in piston 1 and 2 broke off and a new engine is needed. I was told this is a common problem and there are several on the lot with the same problem. It can occur at any number vehicle miles. I am currently with out an engine because there is too many in demand. Wait time for an engine is unknown.

We took it to the dealership 3x and on the third time they found a code for the safety module On each incident the car was difficult to control and it put my families life at risk. I have sent an email to Mr Roth with GM of my concerns

-Traction Control/Stabilitrak light comes on and the major thing is the Camshaft and bearings that cause the LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE WARNING LIGHT.. - When Low oil pressure shuts off the engine light comes on it will cause your vehicle to stall and shut off wherever you at.. -Independent service center - No just the independent service center worker - Yes! Start out with the Traction Control/Stabilitrak light and then the Low OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE WARNING LIGHT..January of 2022.

https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/2007-escalade-stalling-when-rolling-to-a-stop.278037/ It is a well known issue (for those that pull trailers) that 2007-2008 Escalades will stall when slowing down on the highway if the vehicle is pulling a trailer. Everytime I drive on the highway and come to a roll the engine stalls. I have been stuck on the middle lane of the highway, in the middle of intersections, and many other places that are less than ideal. It is a crankshaft position sensor from what I can tell. When the car is under a load, the sensor is positioned at an extreme angle and when the rpms get low the rpms fluctuates and it stalls. The extreme angle is an optimization that cadillac made in an effort to get better fuel economy. It appears that the only way to fix the issue is to get a tune that prevents the sensor from reaching that extreme angle. The dealer pretends to know nothing, yet I find many other people who experience the issue so it would be in their database as a known issue. There are no warnings lights that comes on. The car will just shut down. The only way to prevent the car stalling is to drop to neutral and rev the engine while coming to a stop. Keep reving and when the light goes green drop it to Drive. Its unacceptable and a risk not only to myself but others on the road. I will file a defect petition with a lawyer so this is paid attention to . Please help.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
Vehicle: 2023 Cadillac Escalade purchased in Oct 2022. At the time of new vehicle delivery the Dealer in Atlanta Peachtree Blvd, informs the Reverse Camera is not working completely - Has issues - 1.) Missing Gridlines 2.) Blue Hour Glass reducing the visibility while reversing the vehicle. Dealer states this is GM Cadillac issue and they cannot solve it. 3.) There is an irritating vibration sound while driving this 2023 Escalade above 70 mph ( like a flag on top of vehicle). The dealer in Atlanta, Peachtree Blvd cannot fix the problem even after 4 service center visits, and keeping the vehicle for more than 10 days . It is now almost 8 months since the new 2023 Escalade was purchased. Called up GM Cadillac Customer Support many times on 800 333 4223 since one month and registered the complaint case and even GM Cadillac does not know and does not have a clue on how to provide any solution. The customer support provided by GM Cadillac Customer support team is pathetic. No response to customer complaints !!!!! The GM Cadillac Customer Support team is not qualified to deal with customer issues / pain. It is pathetic to have companies like GM Cadillac to ignore problems with their premium vehicle like Escalade. I do not see any other solution, hence reporting the issue with NHTSA. Manufacturers like GM Cadillac should not sell vehicles with known issues, without informing customers.
