Around 24,000 miles, the truck developed severe vibration when braking at highway speed slowing down from 65mph. The fix required the owner to replace front and rear rotors and brake pads due to warping.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that while driving 80 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, with the message " Check Power Steering " displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle then stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road through traffic and parked safely. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact exited the vehicle and inspected the vehicle but found no fault with the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with possible engine failure, which was associated with the open recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 49,367.

The TPMS display went thermal. It blew smoke out of the unit that is mounted to the drivers side front windshield. We were able to disconnect USB power to the device and roll the windows down to ventilate the cabin and ultimately remove the device from the windshield and isolate it. If we would not have been in the vehicle at the time of the failure this could have been a catastrophic failure between the solar collector and the LiFePO4 battery going thermal. There has been no inspection of the vehicle as we were able to remove the device prior to any serious damage. There were no warnings, the TPMS display simply went dark and quite reporting tire data, then a strong burning smell followed by smoke.

As many have spoken about already, I have the hesitation or lag from stop or rolling at very slow speeds. I kind of learned to live with it but feel it's getting worse. My wife had to drive the truck, and she said it was very scary and did not feel safe. I know it is not the engine as I had it replaced and problem is still very much there! There have been so many issues with this truck. Brakes have never stopped squeaking; one dealership guy told me it is the cheap pads Toyota put on them.

Complete catastrophic engine failure at 36,514 miles on July 2, 2026, while the vehicle was being driven. There were no warning lamps, messages, knocking, or other symptoms prior to the failure - a sudden and total loss of motive power while the vehicle was in motion, creating a serious risk of a crash. The vehicle was towed to a franchised Toyota dealership (Hendrick Toyota Concord, Concord, NC), where the dealer confirmed the engine failure. The failure is consistent with the engine machining debris / #1 main bearing defect described in NHTSA Recall Nos. 24V-381 and 25V-767 and the related Toyota campaigns (25TB14/25TA14). As of this filing, the vehicle has been out of service at the dealership for more than 40 days with no replacement engine allocated and no repair date provided. A Toyota corporate case (#260805003088) is open. The vehicle and failed engine are available for inspection at the dealership.

While driving, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled and lost power. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for diagnosis, where the same stalling condition was reproduced and confirmed during a dealer road test. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership, where the engine was found to be seized. The sudden loss of power while driving created a serious safety concern because the vehicle could become disabled without warning and lose motive power in traffic. The failure was confirmed by the authorized dealership, and the vehicle and engine were available for inspection during the repair process. There were no known warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or other clear advance warnings that would have allowed me to anticipate the engine failure before the vehicle stalled.

The TCM is faulty. There is a tsb so Toyota is well aware of the issue. They will not take care of it under the power train warranty. The TCM doesn't shift the vehicle correctly. This lag and funny shifting almost caused an accident.

On April 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM, while driving, I noticed something unusual with my car, and it broke down on the side of the road, leaving me panicked and frightened. After the car stopped, I got out and looked at the engine from underneath; I saw engine oil spraying out of the engine. I then had the car towed to a safe location, and a few days later, I took it to the Toyota dealership.

My 2024 tundra with 55000 miles suddenly lost all power going down a major highway. The engine failed suddenly. Luckily I didn’t wreck. I paid out of pocket to have it towed to dealership where it has sat untouched for 9 days. The engine is included in the recall that they have.

- #11754814August 4, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VISIBILITY/WIPER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
My 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, VIN [XXX], is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA06, Interim 25TB06, NHTSA Recall 25V322, concerning reverse lamps that may become inoperable. The recall was announced in May 2025, but a repair remedy has still not been made available for my vehicle. The truck is primarily used for family transportation, including trips and nighttime driving. I experienced a minor, low-speed property-damage incident while reversing in a poorly lit garage area. Visibility behind and beside the vehicle was limited, and the truck contacted a garage-door support column before the garage lighting came on. The incident caused minor cosmetic side damage. There were no injuries, no structural damage, no police report, and no insurance claim. I previously advised Toyota that I had experienced an issue related to the recall. Toyota opened Customer Experience Case [XXX]. Toyota offered to keep my truck at a dealership indefinitely and provide alternate transportation until a remedy became available, but it could not guarantee a comparable Tundra 1794 or provide an estimated repair date. Toyota later opened repurchase review Case [XXX]. I promptly provided the requested documentation, but despite repeated telephone and email follow-ups, Toyota has not provided a meaningful review timeline, vehicle inspection date, or final determination. My primary complaint to NHTSA is the extended period without an available safety remedy and the continuing risk to owners operating affected vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the adequacy and timeliness of Toyota’s recall remedy process for this defect. Manufacturer Recall Number25TB06 NHTSA Recall Number25V322 In regards to the above mentioned recalls. The vehicle's reverse camera began flashing while driving forward. The R light on the gearshift was also flashing. While driving forward about 15 mph out of a parking lot, the vehicle suddenly went into reverse on it's own, locked up and would not move. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealership. This happened around the week of June 8. The dealership says that they reset the electrical recall, we picked up the truck and it ran fine for about a week. The reverse camera and R light on the gearshift began flashing again on June 17. It did not shift itself into reverse, but the dealership requested that we bring the vehicle back. The dealership stated that Toyota has "grounded" the vehicle and does not have a fix for the recall to date and continuing to drive it is a safety hazzard. It has been sitting at the dealership since June 18 with no end in sight. The dealership and Toyota Corporate continues to tell me every few days that they do not have a fix for the issues/recalls.

When you almost stop but then hit the gas there is a dead petal. The vehicle doesn’t accelerate. Then you almost get t boned. They know about the problem but say everything is fine. It’s traction control. It is not. I guess I will have to sue if I survive the crash.

Summary of Complaint I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe may be a safety-related defect involving the twin-turbocharger system on my 2022 Toyota Tundra (VIN: [XXX]). The driver’s side turbocharger failed at approximately 58,000 miles and had to be replaced. Approximately 6,000 miles later, at around 64,000 miles, the passenger-side turbocharger also failed. The vehicle has been properly maintained and serviced by authorized Toyota dealerships. A failed turbocharger causes a significant loss of engine power, which can create a hazardous condition when merging onto highways, overtaking other vehicles, or driving in traffic where acceleration is necessary to avoid a collision. Toyota requested that I return the vehicle to an authorized dealership for an additional diagnosis, which confirmed the failure of the second turbocharger. I paid $250 for this diagnosis at Toyota’s request. Despite the repeated failure of both turbochargers at relatively low mileage, Toyota declined to provide further assistance and informed me that its decision was final. Based on the failure of both turbochargers within only 64,000 miles, I believe this may represent a manufacturing or design defect rather than normal wear. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this issue and determine whether similar failures are occurring in other 2022 Toyota Tundra vehicles equipped with the same twin-turbo engine, and whether a safety-related defect investigation is warranted.
