My wife & I were involved in a 4 vehicle accident on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at approximately 4:30pm. We were traveling north on Highway 17 ( Ogeechee road ) toward Savannah Georgia. We had stopped at the 2nd red light at Highway 204 & 17. The light turned green and the vehicles in front of me started moving, we proceeded north and went through the green traffic light at Little Neck road about 500 feet beyond the intersection all of the sudden everyone was stopped, before I could react to it I was rear ended by a 2013 Toyota Venza which in turn made me hit a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck which in turn caused him to hit the vehicle that was stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. I couldn't see why the Silverado was stopped because the Dodge Ram was blocking my view.. I would estimate my speed at the time of impact between 30mph to 40 mph.. The airbags in my car did not deploy, fortunately we were wearing our seatbelts. Luckily no one was seriously injured in this accident. So our main question is " why " didn't our airbags deploy??

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH a second vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the vehicle. During the crash, the front driver's side air bag deployed and the contact sustained multiple fractured ribs and a left ankle injury which required medical treatment. The contact indicated that upon the vehicle's impact, the air bag did not immediately deploy and was delayed contributing to the rib injuries sustained. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 168,841.

I am making a complaint about my 2021 corolla SE because I am constantly running into issues that cost and are not my fault as to why these issues have come about. I bought my car in March 2021, in May 2021 my car hit a bump in the highway and cracked my rim and bust my tire. Luckily I have alloy and tire coverage so I did not have to come out of my pocket. Next, my two front tires are constantly wearing down on the inside of the tread making the wires be exposed and causing me to have a blow out or needing to replace my tires at least 4 to 5 times since I have had my car. My car only has 71,000 on it to need that many tires replaced. I go and get my car serviced where I purchased my car at the toyota dealer so If I needed and alignment or tires rotated they would have let me know that and the only time I was informed I needed an alignment was when I got all new tires. Then, in November of 2022 my front lighting sytem when completely out ( signals lights, blinkers, brake lights, etc. I went to get it checked on and the dealer made me feel as if I had an entire electrical issue going on with my car and I would have to pay $160 x2 in order for them to just figure out what was wrong with my practically new vehicle. They came back and explained it was only a fuse and the fuse is $5 but still attempted to charge me for diagnostics. After this encounter I had to be ugly just to not come out of pocket for a large sum. At that visit there was an "engine malfunction" light on as well that they did not mend and continues to blink to this date. Prior to my last servicing appointment last week my entire radio system went out ( backup camera, radio, gps system, bluetooth). I was told at the dealer that I would have to pay $160 for them to diagnose my issue and and then pay for the repair. I asked my service manager if there were any recalls on my car for these issues and he stated no but as for the 2022-2023 models there are recalls. I need help with this.

Intermittently and without warning for the past few months the vehicle will at times fail to accelerate properly when pulling out in heavy traffic. The RPMs go past 5000 RPMs and the vehicle barely moves. When I let off the gas and reapply gas the vehicle will go. Vehicle also jerks and hesitates at speeds between 0 -. 30 mph. Disengaging the vehicles traction control helps to alleviate issue. Vehicle and issue will be presented to my Toyota dealer.

Low beam headlights have shadows that prevent me from seeing all of the roadway at night. Vehicle has been presented to multiple dealerships that have failed to correct this potentially dangerous issue. The last dealership stated it was "normal" and no fix is available. The issue did cause me to hit a tire on the interstate earlier this year and continues to make night driving hazardous. I will continue to present the issue to my Toyota dealer to have the issue fixed. Future updates will be provided on this issue.

On three occasions this car was parked in an attached garage and remained running when parked resulting in potential CO exposure. This is a known hazard which NHTSA is aware of in cars with keyless start system in hybrid vehicles. Toyota is well aware of this issue (first acknowledged death in 2016 was in a Toyota Avalon) and was supposed to equip 2020 models with auto shutoff [XXX] I thought my 2020 Hybrid Corolla had this feature when purchased, but it does not. Toyota has not responded to multiple requests to retrofit my vehicle. This is a serious safety issue with many CO deaths reported. Its my understanding this will be required soon of new vehicles but its important that all existing hybrid vehicles be required to be retrofitted with auto shutoff to prevent continuing deaths. Twice within one month my Corolla experienced Sudden Unintended Acceleration. The first time I had just entered the parking lot of my local Star Market. I stopped for a man in the crosswalk and was just about to ease off the break when I saw a woman approaching the crosswalk so I stayed on my break. Suddenty the car revved up and went forward. I think it was so loud the woman heard it and stopped. My car returned to normal operation within maybe five seconds and as I drove by the woman, I yelled there was something wrong. Went home and scheduled an appointment with Toyota. It took a few days for them to check my car. I think this type of issue brings in the next level up of repair. I was told they went over everything and could find nothing wrong. My car was safe to drive. I drove it for exactly one month and it did the same thing. This time I was inching my way into a parking space that was up against a wall. Nowhere near the gas. I was maybe a couple of feet from the wall when the car accelerated again. The engine really revved up again and I went into the wall. The car was drivable, and I got it right back to Toyota. It is still sitting there pending investigation. I am waiting to hear from someone from their liability department. I'm not sure what will happen, but I know I will not drive that car again. My biggest concern is that Toyota will claim I'm elderly and hit the gas, not the brake. That is not what happened.

Phone charging cord is prone to getting pulled into the steering column and extremely difficult to remove. When I was able to remove the cord, I discovered a wire or spring the steering wheel assembly must have come undone, because the airbag light is on, and my cruise control no longer works, and neither do the steering wheel controls for the radio

I went in after my vehicle displayed a check engine code after my recent visit to the dealer which included a regular oil change plus multi point inspection. At 51k miles the check engine went on and said immediately to go to the dealer. After paying for the dealer inspection, which was extra money, the issue was the engine coolant bypass valve for my vehicle that failed and leaked. I asked if this was common and the dealer said yes since they've been replacing them. I checked online forums and hundreds of people have had this issue at random miles. This costed me over $900 dollars to repair and could of damaged my cars engine leaving me without a vehicle or cause a safety accident. I paid a hefty bill for a faulty item that should have been recalled since it's quite "common" according to the toyota dealership. I regularly maintain my vehicle with the recommended maintenance and this should have not occurred.

Tire size: TM-1 185/65R14 86 T Tire. I bought 4 tires in Sept 2022. I just found out that, after 11 months of normal city driving (which added bout 10K miles to the mileage) and normal maintenance, the tires already showing belt. They have become a safety hazard so I have to buy 4 new tires of another brand.
