SummaryRadio Over The Air Software Version Updates This bulletin provides information regarding the latest Flash Over The Air (FOTA) update and provides the service technician an overview of the steps a customer will need to take to complete the update. The radio software will be updated for (DT and HD trucks) from S21C.6 to S21D.5 and for (WS) from S21B.5 to S21D.5.The national launch for the FOTA is expected to begin December 22, 2021. Customers may experience one or more of the following:Hissing, water sprinkler or salt shaker noise(WS only). Apple Carplay® concerns. Black screen. Loud buzzing noise followed by radio reboot. Unable to switch between media sources while playing SXM®. Radio shows screen off when comfort popup appears. Phone won't reconnect when connection is lost. Delete device in settings menu doesn't work. App pages have black background. Radio does not fall asleep with ignition off. Radio unresponsive. CarPlay® will not connect.

Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation a technician may find the following DTCs set in the PCM memory: P064F - Unauthorized Software/Calibration Detected. P218F - Reductant No Flow Detected. P202E - (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Reductant Injector Performance. U0001-00 - CAN C BUS. P1C55 - NOx Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1 Sensor 1. P24A5 - EGR Cooler Bypass Bank 1 Control Stuck. P207F - Reductant Quality Performance. P218F - Reductant No Flow Detected. U110E - Lost Ambient Temperature Message. The following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been changed from a one trip fault to a two trip fault:P2280 - Air Flow Restriction / Leak Between Air Cleaner and MAF. P203C - (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Reductant Level Sensor Circuit Low. P208D - (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Reductant Pump Control Circuit High. The following improvements/enhancements are also included in this software release:Fuel pressure override test improvement for wiTECH. AC pressure sensor error threshold change. No crank, No start fix. Ambient Air Temperature Improvements. Stationary de-soot with WiTECH fix.

GPS inaccuracies(DT Vehicles with UAX or UCX Only). Uconnect radio apps are inoperable(DT Vehicles with UAX or UCX Only). SXM® button are greyed out(DT Vehicles with UAX or UCX Only). Intermittently, SXM loading screen is stuck(DT Vehicles with UAX or UCX Only). Uconnect App inoperative(DT Vehicles Only). Voice Recognition (VR) inoperative(DT Vehicles Only). Radio resets(DT Vehicles Only). Radio locks up, freezes or resets. Bluetooth device is slow to pair, or does not pair. GPS unable to load and find locations. Loss of saved radio presets. Display screen is back with no backlighting. No audio output coming from the radio. Cannot control audio volume. Rear view camera display will not turn off.
