Vehicle has 3000 miles on it - driving across country . Was driving on to on ramp to highway when vehicle stopped execeleraring. Would rev and rev. We were headed straight into a merge onto the highway and I told my husband to get off immediately.. we slowly got off the road to the side and kept trying . It would not go very fast but kept reving. We turned on and off . No warning lights on dash . Nothing . Tried again nothing called my son who works at a car dealership told us to turn off then remove key - did that and was able to get car to go back to normal. - we researched and transmission slipping is exactly what is described as what was happening. We are in a very dangerous situation . In the middle of nowhere 1000 miles from home. Bought this for my 16 year old son as a reliable car.. I can’t let him Drive this thing. Had we made it on the highway and this happened a minute later . Or my son Driving on the highway. This is unacceptable. Reading all the complaints and how long this has been an issue is sickening that I was able to purchase this car

My 2022 Nissan Versa manual transmission: there have been times after starting the vehicle or after the vehicle has stalled and been restarted where the engine goes into a limp mode. That is, pressing on the accelerator will increase RPMS on the engine but there is very little torque generated to move the vehicle. This has created a risk of accident when trying to accelerate for a merge or other time sensitive maneuver. I took the vehicle to the dealer and found that the clutch was burned out. This was after 42k miles. The vehicle has a hill assist that will prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when you take your foot off the break and before you engage the transmission. I believe the limp mode is tide to this problem. I later discovered that if you turn off the car and take the key out of the ignition, upon restart the problem goes away. This leads me to believe that it is a computer problem and the restart of the vehicle reboots the computer and corrects the problem. I asked the dealership about it and they said they were not aware of any recalls (which was not what I asked). There were no warning lamps or messages from the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection however, I do need to get it fixed so if NHTSA wants to look at it please let me know as soon as possible.

I was at a stop light and it changed to green. I accidentally stalled the car. I had just picked up the car the day before and had driven manual for many years, but was getting used to the clutch. I immediately restarted the car and started in first gear. The car had lost a lot of power. I then discovered after trying to reach the speed limit of 50, the car was in limp mode. I pulled over and turned the car off for some time before restarting it. After the restart, the car engine power was back to normal. The car has about 120 miles on it and I am seeing many others have reported this issue for the same vehicle make, year, and model. This is very unsafe, especially if entering a highway. There were no lights on or indication advising the car was in limp mode during this event.

I purchased 2021 4 months ago. Two weeks ago on a very hot day my driver side visor broke. I called Nessan holiness and told them the visor drops. It obstructs vision of driving. I called today and first was put on hold, then call was disconnected. I recalled back and informed Nessan about driver side visor. As we were talking she asked me if I bought car with extended warranty. I said no. Car was sold as is. She hung up the phone on me. She did not call me back, nor did she explain why for hanging up the phone. I googled Nessan Versa driver side visor faulty and found several complaints by other owners about visor dropping down while driving do to cheap visor parts. I don't believe this is my responsibility or other Nessan owners to futuristic keep replacing the driver side visor. Nessan should have a recall on this problem and be forced to make a better quality visor to prevent possible accidents.

Today (XXX), After shifting my manual 5 speed transmission into first gear it stalled. I restarted my car then proceeded to drive on the highway in a severely reduced power mode "Limp Mode". I could not reach highway speed and this created a very unsafe condition with tractor trailers behind me. The power loss only allowed speeds up to about 45 MPH. Acceleration was very slow. I will contact my Nissan Dealership in Erie, PA tomorrow. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving on city streets the check engine light came on and I was unable to accelerate or maintain speeds above 30mph. Because the car couldn’t operate at posted speed limits, other vehicles were stuck behind me or had to go around. It was also slow to start at traffic signals. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer shortly for further diagnosis.

If vehicle stalls (manual transmission), severe power loss is experienced. It appears that vehicle goes into limp mode if it stalls. Has happened on several occasions. This creates a dangerous situation as it is not possible to move quickly enough to merge, proceed through an intersection, or maintain an adequate speed on the highway.

The arm rest that protrudes from the center console, sometimes momentarily interferes with steering control during turns due to obstructing arm movement. Also it frequently causes a minor elbow injury from hitting the arm rest when making a turn.

I was taking my 23 versa M/T to the dealer for its 10.000 mile service and upon driving the vehicle while pulling away from a stop sign I stall the vehicle and after that there was a significant loss of power, restarting the engine did not help. When I got to the dealership I did not shut the engine off and told them about the issue and said it was a safety issue and did not have the power to get out of the way in a emergencysituation. Unfortunately they claimed they could not duplicate the issue and requested to hold the vehicle for further investigation. Before the vehicle le was stalled there were no warning lamps or check engine lights or any symptoms prior nor any warning lamps on the wa to the dealership while the issue consisted. This problem has happened twice before while my wife was on the way to work and after her shift the vehicle preformed normal.

This 2024 Nissan Versa is a manual transmission purchased new in March 2024. On (3) separate incidents, there was a loss of power after stalling the engine and restarting the vehicle. Incident 1 (5/27/24) - The hill assist failed to disengage causing the vehicle to stall. When I re-started and pulled into traffic, I was unable to gain speed. Downshifting did not solve the problem. The vehicle was operating on lower power and no matter what gear I put it in, it would not speed up. I was not able to reach highway speeds in a timely fashion. It took several minutes to get to the correct speed. (approx. 5-10 mins) Incident 2 (6/13/24) Stalled in a parking garage in 2nd gear. Once I restarted the engine, there was very little power. I was not able to gain speed to the speed limit. Incident 3 (6/26/24) Stalled on a hill again when the hill assist did not disengage fully. Once restarted, there was very little power and I was unable to gain speed. In all 3 incidents, pulling over, shutting off the vehicle, opening the door and closing and allowing the vehicle to rest reset solved the issue. Our safety was put at risk as we were unable to speed up to acceptable levels after stalling and pulling into traffic. Stalling the vehicle happens from time to time but it doesn't always result in loss of power after restart. No warning lights, no audibles occurred. Vehicle will be scheduled for safety check with Nissan. I suspect this might be an electronics/computer malfunction rather than mechanical issue.

The car completely dies. No power at all. Battery has been checked and is fine. Advanced auto parts said alternator was bad but 2 dealerships have said it’s fine. Both dealerships looked at the car and cannot find the issue. Car has gotten towed to both when it dies and no one can find the issue. Had the car for 1 week when this happened - car only had 3,000 miles. Car was purchased on 4/25 and it has died over 10 times. Happens when car is turned off and started multiple times in a short time frame - like when you are out running errands.

This morning after a "cold start" to drive to work, I entered a primary road that takes me to the interstate. I noticed throttle input seemed "delayed". Once on the interstate while attempting to merge, the car had zero power. Full throttle in third, fourth and fifth gear allowed only 60mph. I drove about two miles to the next exit and made my way back home on secondary roads to my house. Once home, I scanned for DTC's with my scan tool. A P2615 was received, "Cam Position Signal Output Circuit Low" I cleared the code, started back on my drive to work, car performed as expected with no power loss. This is about a 40 mile drive. I have seen complaints of "power loss" after a stall. My cars symptom was after a cold start and no stall.

I purchased a 2024 Nissan Versa S 5 Speed approx. two months ago. Upon driving the first week, the engine would rev high in between shifting (not rev hang) and made the vehicle almost impossible to drive smooth. I have been driving manuals for 34 years. I planned on taking the car to the dealer to check when I had time. Then by week two to four, a rattle developed under the shifter adn center console. Lastly, the car went into limp mode for no reason and with no check engine light. I turned the car off and on again. The problem went away. I took the vehicle to the dealer 2.5 weeks ago and haven't seen the car since. The head mechanic said the problem was a cam sensor and every time he fixed the problem, the car would do the same thing every morning. He also said Nissan was aware of this problem with the manual Versa, and the fix is to "wait". I since discovered I am not the only one and how dangerous this glitch it. Imagine trying to exit on the highway only to go into limp mode. I am scared to drive this car and will not put my family in this car now. I don't even have 3K on the odometer. They also can't find the cause of the loud rattling sound either.

In 2023 from time to time if we accidnetly stalled out, the car went in to limp mode after we restarted it. We learned that if we took the key out and waited a couple minutes it would drive normally again. That change on [XXX] when I was in downtown Atlanta and it would not get out of limp mode for a long time. It was very scary and I had kids in the car with me. I was able to get it to the dealership that day but they said it was fine and insisted I had been in the wrong gear. I knew this was not the case so when it happened again [XXX] I took a video of it in limp mode and took it to Mike Rezi Nissan the next day. They said they could find nothing wrong with it and told me we’d hear from someone but we are still waiting. I discovered you have an investigation PE24007 open on this and would like to add us to the claim. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
