Some customers may complain of a whining noise from the automatic transaxle when driving at 10 mph and above. The noise: Ã¯ÂÂ·Depends on the vehicleÃ¢ÂÂs speed only (the more speed, the more noise)Ã¯ÂÂ·Occurs with all types of driving (acceleration, deceleration, steady speed)Ã¯ÂÂ·Does not depend on rpm, gear, or ATF temperature.This is caused by a damaged bearing in the transaxle due to improper configuration of the transaxle case. DTC U3000:04-0A (Forward sensing camera (FSC) internal malfunction).Master Warning Light, Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) Indicator Light, Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) Warning Light, High Beam Control (HBC) system Warning Light (amber). DTC U3000:04-0A (Forward sensing camera (FSC) internal malfunction) is stored in the FSC module and cannot be erased. This concern may be caused by a hardware failure of an internal device of the FSC, which results in a malfunction detection. To eliminate this concern, the production process of the FSC has been modified.

Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise from the right front driveshaft at the automatic transaxle when driving. This concern is likely to occur when driving at speeds between 37-50 mph (60-80 km/h) with the ATF at normal operating temperature. The noise is caused by stick/slip between the oil seal at the transaxle and the dust cover of the driveshaft. To correct this issue, the thickness of the dust cover has been increased.

Summary
Some customers may complain of condensation/fog inside the front (headlamp/headlight) or rear (taillamp/taillight) combination lights. The recent new models have been fitted with a clear lens which can cause the symptom to be more noticeable, however, it does not affect the performance of the light. This condensation/fog is a natural phenomenon that occurs when there is a fairly large temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the light housing. It is normal for very small water drops to appear in certain locations on the light units where the air is stagnant (condensation), making the lens look whitish (fog). This happens mostly in the corners and narrow spaces, and will typically clear during warmer ambient temperatures, or when the lights have been on for some time.

Some customers may complain that their seat warmers do not turn on when the engine is restarted after being left on when turning off the engine. The logic has changed from previous Mazdas where the seat warmers automatically turned on when the engine was restarted. Customers in cold weather are more likely to complain about this if their vehicle is equipped with Mazda Mobile Start (MMS) because the MMS accessory instructions state the seat warmers WILL turn on when the engine is restarted. This information is incorrect for these vehicles. NOTE: The instructions in the vehicle owner's manual are correct.

When pressing the START/STOP button in very cold weather, the ignition may not turn off on some vehicles equipped with a lock release button (1) on the selector lever knob. Although the selector lever is in the "P" position and the engine shuts off normally, the ignition may stay on (in accessory mode). NOTE: This TSB only applies if the selector lever knob is BHN2-46-030* or BHN4-46-030* with the lock release button. If not, this TSB does not apply. This may be caused by the lock release button in the selector lever knob sticking in the pressed position. An improper production process is causing an internal part to expand with moisture and interfere with other parts. To eliminate this concern, the production process has been modified.

Some customer using "Flexible" setting for Oil Change in the maintenance monitor may notice that the oil change due notification will not work due to improper control logic of the PCM. The PCM clears the TRAVELED DISTANCE at the wrong time while the ELAPSED DAYS and the DETERIORATION DETERMINATION work as designed. To correct this issue, the control logic of the PCM has been changed.

Some vehicles may exhibit an unusual noise (clacking) from under the front of the vehicle. This noise only occurs when starting to move the vehicle while the steering wheel is fully turned to the driver-side (left side for LHD vehicle and right side for RHD vehicle). NOTE: The noise will not occur if the steering wheel is in the center or to the full passenger-side position.The noise is caused when the edge (A) of the inner ball joint (B) gets stuck with the steering gear housing(C). To eliminate the noise, a spacer (A) has been installed between the inner ball joint (B) and the steering gear housing (C) (both sides) to prevent direct contact.

A tapping/rattling noise may be noticed from the valve train area. This condition usually occurs after the engine has been turned off at normal operating temperature and then not warmed up to full operating temperature during the next series of cold starts. This operating condition can occur, for example, on new vehicles which have been delivered to Mazda dealers (due to loading and unloading from transport trucks or customers moving their vehicles in and out of their garages to wash the vehicle, etc.)

When the engine is started for the first time after parking the vehicle overnight in cold conditions (below 32 degrees Fahrenheit / 0 degrees Celsius), some vehicles may exhibit a rough idle and/or the check engine light on with any of the following DTC(s) stored in memory. P0300 - Random misfire detected P0301 - Cylinder No. 1 misfire detected P0302 - Cylinder No. 2 misfire detected P0303 - Cylinder No. 3 misfire detected P0304 - Cylinder No.4 misfire detected. This may be caused by frozen water accumulated in the main silencer, restricting exhaust flow.
