transmission will not shift all the time and gets hung up! After following a group this seems to be a problem with the gladiator automatic transmission. It will not shift into reverse and shifts hard from 3rd to 4th. This should be a recall due to so many people having issues and the only thing to fix it is to get a new transmission.

Persistent burning smell from the manual clutch which has had a recall for over a year. I have contacted jeep multiple times to facilitate a trade for the vehicle as I can't use it for the intended purpose. Can get no response from the dealer or Jeep. Dealer says there is no available repair for the recall and nothing they can do.

I was driving my Jeep Gladiator on [XXX] Shasta Co, CA, on a snowy mountain highway. I had my husband, two children and two dogs in the vehicle. Without warning the power steering went out. Within 20 seconds a steering wheel light appeared on the dash. Within approximately 20 more seconds, I was able to pull over into a plowed turnout. As soon as we stopped the vehicle we noticed a fire in the engine compartment. We were able to extinguish it within a few minutes with our fire extinguisher. The vehicle has approximately 15000 miles on it and is under warranty. It is currently under inspection to determine if it falls under warranty. Steering is very loose in the vehicle, I have experienced "death wobble" twice while driving the vehicle. It was taken in for service, and the dealership replaced the steering stabilizer as they said it had failed. Since getting the vehicle back, the issue has not been fixed, in fact...the steering is even more loose now, it feels unsafe to drive.

See video of incident here: [XXX] Additional video is here: [XXX] The incidents happened while driving on the interstate at approximately 70mph. When a normal expansion joint or bump was traversed, the steering wheel would suddenly oscillate continuously, with the degree of the oscillation growing more severe over time. The entire body of the vehicle shook violently. The only way to recover from the severe oscillation was to reduce speed substantially - generally to below 40 mph - or to encounter another bump to upset the oscillation. We took the Gladiator to a local Jeep dealership. They stated they replaced the steering damper and that the manufacturer had updated the part number (the failed damper was the old part number). However, we still feel a looseness in the suspension that we did not feel previously with this vehicle. When traversing bumps at speed, sometimes the oscillation can still be felt, but it is not continuous as shown in the videos. We suspect the steering damper may have been damaged to due another loose or failed component that is still in service on the vehicle. The vehicle is stock and has not been modified previously. - #11572199February 15, 2024AIR BAGS
I had a collision incident with my car and an electric pole that broke in half. The airbag did not deploy at all and liberty mutual had deemed my car totaled after having it evaluated at 2020 Auto Body. I had contacted Jeep to complain about safety in regards to what I think is a defected airbag and they had asked me to send photos of my Jeep after the incident. And without asking how fast I was going and having everything based on the photo, Jeep states they will not do any further investigation because based on the photos the deceleration of my car during the incident was not enough to deploy the air bag. I tried to ask them multiple times to email me an explanation of how they determined that the airbag is not defected based on the photos I sent and have not gotten a response except that the case was closed. They refused to email an explanation and would only want to schedule a phone call to explain. I told them I rather have it email for documentation purposes. I am reporting this airbag deployment incident because of safety concerns. In early January 2024 I was driving on the interstate at the posted speed limit of 70 mph and upon hitting what I would call a moderate bump on the roadway my steering wheel felt as though it was wobbling. Later in the month while driving at the same speed of at least 70 mph I would hit a bump and experience the steering wheel wobble, only it was getting worse. The steering wheel wobble could cause a safety issue in that the driver could lose control of proper steering thereby causing a vehicle crash with injury to myself, my wife, or even others on the roadway. I took my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland to the nearest Jeep Dealership to me and when I made inquiry to the technician that worked on my vehicle, he stated that he had taken my Jeep on the interstate and tried to recreate the wobble issue. In his words, the steering wheel "wobbled [XXX]. The remedy for the issue according to the technician was to replace the steering stabilizer/damper, which evidently is a known issue I found out and was covered under an extended 8 year warranty due to it being a known problem. Brand new Jeep gladiator. 458 miles on it and the windshield glass cracked. No rock or external object hit it, simply faulty glass. I went to an online forum and found that windshields cracking on jeep’s is extremely common and Jeep refuses to warranty or do anything about it.

Our 2022 Gladiator has 1,758 miles on it and no modifications. It was last driven about two weeks ago. It burned to the ground [XXX] while parked next to our house. The fire started in the engine compartment. There were no warnings of symptoms and our jeep app showed everything was normal when last driven. It was investigated by the VRFA and I am waiting for their report. Insurance has not yet inspected. We reported it to the dealership we bought it from. On the [XXX] website, there is another 2022 Gladiator, also low mileage, that also burned to the ground while parked. That person's insurance stated that they believe it burned due to a manufacturer defect but there are no recalls. So I purchased this vehicle in August of 2021. 6 months after purchasing I received another recall saying this is not safe to drive. I have only a 2 seater car to try and take my family places. It’s getting ridiculous I have paid 65000 for a car not safe to drive.

- #11565378January 13, 2024EXTERIOR LIGHTING
While driving in snowy conditions, snow built up in front of the headlights, blocking them. I had to stop multiple times to sweep the snow out from the socket the headlight is recessed into to get light to project onto thr road. These are the factory LED headlights, which do not produce enough heat to melt the snow, unlike halogen headlights. Not having lights while driving in the snow is scary, as is having to stop in poor conditions on the side of the road. The lights need to be heated or shielded in some way to prevent this from happening.

While driving on a highway around 70 MPH upon traveling on a bumpy portion of roadway or a transition from an overpass back to roadway the steering starts to Shimmy extremely bad. The only way to get this to stop is pull over and bring the vehicle to a complete stop. I was almost killed when there was no shoulder available In a construction zone on [XXX] in Florida and I had to stop in the lane of traffic and was almost rear ended by a semi tractor trailer. I’ve made a complaint about this before. The dealer previously changed the steering damper but unfortunately the new damper is not the fix to this safety issue. Luckily I’m an experienced driver and a retired law enforcement officer and have calmness to work through this issue. If it was a young driver with little experience the outcome would be sadly different. Sooner or later I believe a fatality will occur due to this.
