SummaryINFOTAINMENT CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION When replacing an AV control unit (Infotainment Control Unit), for any reason, all three steps below are required. If all three steps are not completed on vehicles equipped with a TCU, the Over The Air (OTA) updates will not work, and other functions may be inoperative. HINT: Not all APPLIED VEHICLES are OTA-update capable. 1. Reprogram the AV control unit. 2. Configure the AV control unit. 3. Write the VIN to the AV control unit. IMPORTANT: Steps 1-3 above must be performed in the sequential order shown below.

SummaryDRIVE SHAFT BOOT SERVICE INFORMATION SERVICE INFORMATION If a Drive Shaft (Axle Shaft) Boot on an APPLIED VEHICLE is found to be leaking grease, AND There is no abnormal noise or obvious CV Joint risk due to water intrusion and/or complete grease loss, check for REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (cv Joint Boot Kit) availability. ï· If there is a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, do NOT replace the axle. Install a new boot kit following the procedure in the ESM. o Refer to the ESM: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BOOT o If the complete axle (drive shaft) is replaced when only a new boot is required, the over-repair may be charged back to the retailer. ï· If there is NOT a REPAIR KIT-DUST BOOT (CV Joint Boot Kit) available for the vehicle being repaired, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. IMPORTANT: When servicing vehicles with staked axle nuts, refer to ITB21-002 to prevent Drive Shaft thread damage.

Summary3G TELEMATICS HARDWARE DEACTIVATION SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). AT&T discontinued its U.S. 3G network coverage on February 22, 2022. As a result, automakers that utilize AT&Tâs 3G network connection, including Nissan Group, have had connectivity services affected. INFINITI Connection with InTouch⢠Services are no longer available on the APPLIED VEHICLES listed above.

SummarySOFTWARE UPDATE POP-UP NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The infotainment system in the APPLIED VEHICLES has the ability to update its software through an Over-The-Air (OTA) link. As software updates become available for new features, and/or patches, the software update screen (pop-up) shown in Figure 1 will automatically be displayed. Much like cell phone and computer updates, this is a normal feature which allows the user to choose when an update is downloaded. ï· It is recommended that while in the retailer inventory and this pop-up appears, that âYesâ is selected to provide the latest software version to the client at delivery. NOTE: If the ignition is turned OFF in the middle of a download, it will automatically restart when the ignition is turned back ON. To avoid risk of death or serious personal injury when updating software: ï· Park the vehicle in a secure, safe, well-ventilated location that is open to the air and apply the parking brake. ï· Do not allow people who need assistance, children, and pets to be in the vehicles during the software update. When one of the following is selected: Yes: The pop-up is hidden and the download starts in the background. Later: The pop-up is hidden and displayed again in the next key cycle (after cold start). ï· To manually start the software update, select: Info > System Information > Software Update > Start Software Update

SummaryTELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT RESET AFTER AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) as âCURRENTâ when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) set as âCURRENTâ, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming TCU condition is âUNLOCKâ.
