The vehicle has experienced issues for roughly 6 months randomly not starting. The lights and displays come on but it will not respond to push start. We took it in and they replaced the starter assembly about a month ago. The next day it wouldn’t start again. That same weekend died twice and intersections with the auto stop start like the computer was rebooting. It went back into the shop a few weeks ago and they have been unable to isolate the issue. Opened up a case with Hyundai and it’s back at the dealer again tomorrow for them to work with HQ technical teams.

When slowing from 12-10 mph to a stop, the vehicle will sound as if brakes are grinding and make sudden stopping changes. Only happens at low speeds. Believed to be a software issue related to Service Campaign 9C8.

Due to a known oil consumption issue the manufacture replaced the engine using a short block swap, they used the old fuel injectors and during the swap one of them failed, becoming stuck open. Now they refuse to fix it without me paying for labor. The failed fuel injector occurred immediately following a mandatory manufacturer engine replacement and poses a thermal/fire hazard.

In 2024, my [XXX] daughter was seated in the third row of our 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy (VIN [XXX]). She was wearing her seat belt and sitting in a backless booster seat. While I was loading luggage for a family road trip, a piece of luggage accidentally pressed the third-row power-folding seat control. The seatback began folding forward while my daughter was occupying the seat. She became trapped and compressed between the folding seatback and the second-row seat in front of her. Despite encountering resistance from her body, the powered seat continued applying pressure. She experienced pain from the compression and could not free herself. The seat did not automatically stop or reverse. I was fortunately standing nearby loading luggage and was able to remove the luggage from the control and manually reverse the seat mechanism within seconds. Had I not been immediately present, my daughter could have remained trapped and suffered more serious injuries. Since the incident, we have required our children to use high-back booster seats because we believed they might offer protection against the powered seat folding. However, we recognize that booster seats are not designed to protect against this hazard. I recently learned about Hyundai’s recall involving power-seat entrapment hazards in certain 2026 Palisade vehicles. My 2023 vehicle is not included in that recall, despite having experienced an incident involving a child being trapped by a powered seat. I request that NHTSA investigate whether the third-row power-folding seats in earlier Hyundai Palisade models present a similar safety hazard and whether additional recalls or corrective measures are warranted. - #11770118October 9, 2026SUSPENSION
Larsen Automotive in Pine Bluff, AR replaced the spark plugs on this vehicle recently, and while the vehicle was at the shop, I asked the mechanic to look at my suspension as my vehicle has become very rough when driving and I noticed loud "popping/clicking" noises within my vehicle's rear end. The mechanic noted that 2021 Hyundai Palisades had a lot of issues with rear suspension failure and that this should be reported to Hyundai in an effort to get the vehicle fixed. The mechanic noted that suspension failure could lead to unsafe driving, which in turn could cause harm to the driver/passengers. Upon investigation, the mechanic confirmed that the rear suspension was failing and needed to be replaced. There were no warning lights regarding the failing suspension, but the rough drive and the audible noises coming from the car started months prior to the diagnosis by the automotive repair shop. Since that time, I have submitted a message regarding the suspension failure issue to Hyundai via their website. I have not yet received any feedback from the company.

On three separate occasions, when turning left, the steering wheel locked briefly at the 11pm position and there was a clunking noise. It released after a second or two. Obviously having steering lock is a severe safety issue. I have had it at Haselwood Hyundia in Bremerton, WA for a week and because they cannot reproduce the issue themselves, they are sending me home with the car unfixed. There were no warnings or other notifications and apparently no diagnostic codes.

1. Component or System Failed Seat Anchor/Restraint System: Driver's seat mount bolts left hand-threaded following Campaign 283 recall service. (RO available for inspection) Suspension & Steering Geometry: Alignment/subframe failure causing severe tire wear under 6k miles across 2024, 2025, and 2026. (RO's available for inspection) Dealer Documentation System: Falsified "Recall Declined" entry in WebDCS and on RO, omitted and undocumented flagged safety recall on RO (Oct 28, 2025), unrecorded oil leak inspection findings, withheld technician notes and VIN and repair records. (RO's and Webdcs,- Warranty History available, technicians notes possibly available). 2. Safety (Me, Husband, and 2 Children) Put at risk Seat Anchor / Restraint System -Loss of Control: Loose seat bolts allow the driver's seat to shift unexpectedly, impairing pedal and steering control while driving. -Restraint Failure: Unsecured bolts risk complete seat detachment during a crash, rendering seatbelts and airbags ineffective. Suspension & Steering Geometry -Tire Blowout Hazard: Severe tire wear under 6k miles drastically increases the risk of a high-speed blowout. -Unstable Handling: Continuous misalignment causes vehicle pulling, reduced braking efficiency, and compromised control during emergency maneuvers. Dealer Documentation System -Forced Operation of Unsafe Vehicle: Logging safety recalls as "Declined" and omitting flagged recall alerts in WebDCS and on Repair Orders hides known safety hazards from official records, leaving uncorrected recall risks active while driving. -Concealment of Mechanical Hazards: Suppressing oil leak inspection results and withholding technical VIN notes hides active fluid or mechanical defects, creating sudden engine failure, loss of power in traffic, or fire hazards without the driver's awareness. 3. My 2020 Hyundai Palisade experienced repeated instances of the engine cooling fan continuing to operate after the vehicle was completely shut off. In one instance, the fan ran for about 90 minutes after shutdown. After the vehicle was driven again, it ran for approximately another 45 minutes after shutdown. On a subsequent occurrence, the fan continued running until it discharged the battery enough that the vehicle would not start. Southtowne Hyundai in Newnan, Georgia subsequently diagnosed the cause as an internal PCB block failure and replaced the engine-room PCB block pursuant to Hyundai Technical Service Bulletin 26-EE-007H, which addresses battery drain caused by continuous cooling-fan operation after the vehicle is turned off. The dealer installed PCB block part number 91959-S8000-FFF. The failure was intermittent and did not occur every time the vehicle was shut off. My concern is that the defect could unexpectedly discharge the battery while the vehicle is parked, leaving it unable to restart. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the failure and can determine whether similar failures are occurring in other Hyundai Palisades.

Suspension and driveability issues. Seat belt safety recall not completed after several attempts. 1. SUSPENSION: Suspension noises (popping, clunking, creaking, etc). Difficulty controlling vehicle on the freeway; it sways and I wrestle with wheel to drive and keep in lane despite having multiple lane and driver assist features. AWD equipped however rear suspension loses power and struggles to drive on uneven surfaces. Vehicle is unstable, rocks from side to side while turning and feels like it will flip over. Purchased new tires and had wheel alignment and balancing done but have to keep getting wheel alignment for pulling and non-centered steering wheel. Ride is not smooth, feels bumpy and bouncy. Steering wheel, seat, and pedals still vibrate and shake after new tire service. New tires have abnormal and premature wear. Complained about issues to dealership with suspension and driveability and they told me it was normal to have noises and they could not duplicate so wait until it gets worse. Diagnostic fees are required but they waived the first fee. Months passed and even after new tire install with balancing and alignment the issues got worse. They again said it was normal and the suspension had to settle after new tires but issues have persisted again for months and have worsened. So after multiple alignments and complaints of other issues (ie. Bluelink, paint, remote start, ABS system), I escalated again within service and sales and they now say there is a recall on suspension. 2. SEAT BELTS: I have scheduled multiple service appointments for the seat belt recall. Parts were ordered but then upon return for service, the dealership said the parts were placed on another vehicle as first come first serve so they ordered parts for me again but then they say the parts were used by someone else again. This keeps happening. Now they say the design still has an issue so waiting on new design and parts. I have had nothing but problems with this truck since purchase.

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number 26V034000 (Air Bags) and 25V607000 (Seat Belts). The vehicle was repaired with film. The other recall parts were on back order. Following the repair, the contact became aware that the view through the third-row windows were distorted, and it was difficult to see clearly. The dealer informed the contact that the issue was self-corrected. The passenger became nauseated due to the distortion. The manufacturer was contacted from the website and by phone and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The manufacturer opened a claim and stated that the film could be removed or reapplied. The dealer advised the contact that the film could be removed. The failure mileage was approximately 25,500.

- #11769631October 7, 2026VISIBILITY/WIPER
The driver-side windshield wiper arm/attachment system malfunctioned. This is the same component area addressed by Hyundai Safety Recall 243 (NHTSA Recall 23V-180). The dealership documented that the driver-side “wiper arm nut backed off causing wiper arm to come off car.” Photographs also show damage/wear to the internal splined mounting area of the wiper arm. The dealership tightened the retaining hardware and returned the existing wiper arm to service rather than replacing the arm. The vehicle and currently installed wiper arm are available for inspection upon request. I also have photographs documenting the condition before and after the dealership service. The driver-side windshield wiper stopped functioning, leaving the driver without a functioning wiper to maintain visibility through the windshield. Had this occurred during rain, snow, or other reduced-visibility conditions, I could have experienced a sudden loss of adequate forward visibility while driving. I am concerned about recurrence because the dealership documented that the retaining nut had backed off, there is visible damage to the wiper arm's splined mounting area, and the existing arm was returned to service after the retaining hardware was tightened. Yes. The vehicle was taken to the authorized Hyundai dealership that previously performed Recall 243. The dealership confirmed the malfunction and documented on the October 6, 2026 repair order: “DRIVER SIDE WIPER ARM IS NOT MOVING” and “FOUND WIPER ARM NUT BACKED OFF CAUSING WIPER ARM TO COME OFF CAR.” The dealership tightened the retaining hardware and returned the existing wiper arm to service. The vehicle and wiper assembly were inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership on October 6, 2026. This is the same dealership that performed Hyundai Safety Recall 243 on the vehicle in March 2023. No warning lights/messages or prior symptoms. Wiper failed suddenly during normal warm-weather use with no snow, ice, or unusual resistance.

- #11769694October 7, 2026POWER TRAIN
The 1 year old vehicle experienced a serious transmission/drivetrain malfunction that ultimately made it unable to drive. On September 3, 2026, while I was on the road, the vehicle stopped operating properly and had to be towed to the Hyundai dealership. The vehicle and affected components remain available for inspection at the dealership. The failure created a safety risk because the vehicle became unreliable and inoperable while being used on public roads. A sudden loss of propulsion or inability to move normally could have placed me and other motorists at risk, especially in active traffic. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by the Hyundai dealership. After performing work, the dealer told me the vehicle was ready for pickup on September 4. However, the same issue was still present before I even left the dealership, so I left the vehicle there again. A few days later, when I returned to retrieve personal belongings, the service advisor said the vehicle could not be driven and we had to go to the rear parking area where it was stored. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced by an authorized Hyundai dealership, and Hyundai corporate has also been contacted regarding the issue. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent repair facility. Prior to the complete failure, the vehicle showed symptoms of improper transmission/drivetrain operation. The revolutions would spike when gas was applied and then lurch forward when it finally caught. The problem became severe enough on September 3 that I could no longer safely continue driving and required a tow. I do not recall a specific warning lamp or dashboard message and would rely on Hyundai’s diagnostic records for any stored fault codes or warnings.

The vehicle's steering wheel completely locks up in mid-turn while actively in motion. Berman Hyundai of Lincolnwood performed massive engine and transmission overhauls but twice willfully ignored my warnings about this catastrophic steering defect. The dealership is refusing a safe loaner vehicle. The car is currently grounded at Napleton Hyundai for an emergency independent diagnostic. An active corporate case is open with Hyundai Motor America under Case Management #43278436. All this and I’m not even done paying the vehicle.

Blind spot warning system stopped working. Then speedometer stopping working registering 0 both digital and the circle. Then all lights started going off on the dashboard. My dealer cleared codes and errors went to history but not active. When I went to drive again blind spot didn’t work and speedometer didn’t work. I didn’t drive further after that. I heard there was an issue with the 2022 dashboard cluster.

I am reporting a problem obtaining the remedy for an open safety recall on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade Limited (Hyundai Recall 283 / NHTSA 25V-607). I first contacted Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest, NC, regarding this recall in October 2025. At that time, the dealership did not have the necessary remedy available. I contacted the dealership again in January 2026 and was placed on a waiting list for the recall repair. As of October 6, 2026, I am number 123 out of approximately 390 customers on the dealership’s waiting list. I have been told that Hyundai is sending only a very limited number of replacement parts to dealerships and that customers may wait seven months or longer before being notified that their parts are available. This recall involves seat-belt buckle assemblies that may fail to latch properly, creating a potential increased risk of injury in a crash. My concern is not that the dealership is refusing to perform the recall. My concern is that the manufacturer is not supplying sufficient replacement parts for the dealership to perform the safety recall within a reasonable timeframe. Hyundai’s recall information indicated a planned final remedy owner notification date of June 30, 2026. It is now October 2026, and I still do not have a repair appointment or a reliable timeframe for obtaining the required parts. I rely on this vehicle to transport two young children, including a child with special needs, so simply stopping use of the vehicle indefinitely is not a practical option for my family. I am requesting that NHTSA review Hyundai’s implementation of this recall, including the availability and allocation of replacement parts and the length of time affected owners are waiting for the safety recall remedy. I would also like NHTSA to review whether Hyundai is providing sufficient information and an appropriate interim solution for owners who must continue using their vehicles while waiting for the recall repair.

The contact owns a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the seat belts failed to latch properly in cold weather. The seat belt audible alert was sounded. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were on backorder. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

- #11768975October 5, 2026ENGINE
My 2020 Hyundai Palisade (3.8L V6) suffered an engine failure at approximately 108,000 miles. On September 3rd,2026 , while driving at about 65 mph, the engine began knocking loudly. There was no warning before this happened and the engine light had not come on. The vehicle was taken to Shottenkirk Hyundai, an authorized Hyundai dealer, which diagnosed a connecting rod bearing failure. The repair order states: "Replace engine assembly due to piston slap on front bank caused by rod bearing failure." The dealer says the entire engine must be replaced. The vehicle has been maintained with regular oil changes. The failure was internal and was not caused by a crash, impact, or outside damage. I believe this is a safety defect. A connecting rod bearing failure can cause the engine to stall or seize without warning while driving, including at highway speed, creating a risk of a crash. A failed rod can also break through the engine block and leak oil onto hot engine parts, which is a fire risk. The vehicle is past Hyundai's 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. I have opened a case with Hyundai Consumer Affairs (case # 43347615) and am waiting for a decision. The vehicle and failed engine are available for inspection at the dealer. I am asking NHTSA to investigate connecting rod bearing failures in the 3.8L V6 engine in the 2020 Hyundai Palisade.
