All of the warning lights came on, cruise doesnt work. Dealership told me my camera in the wind shield stopped working. I was given a 2,1000$ estimate from Harvest Honda in Yakima, WA. My car had 84,000 miles on it. No impact to the windshield. It just stopped. I took it to McKinney glass to see if it could possibly be a calibration issue. They confirmed what the dealership told me. It’s defective.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 144,000. Twenty-four hours after the purchase, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had an appraisal on the vehicle, and it was discovered that the mileage on the Title was 204,000.

ENGINE
The vehicle was had a lower engine knock. When I took the vehicle in I was informed that there is an open recall for Honda Pilots for engine knocking and failure but my vin number was not included. Because of the knocking I was informed that I needed to replace the engine. The vehicle is approximately 2400 miles over the 100k power train warranty. The engine has been serviced regularly and has had all PM completed. The vehicle is currently in the repair shop waiting for a replacement engine to come in. Since Honda doesn't have rebuilt engines the shop is waiting on a used engine to arrive that has approximately 77k miles on it. Because the engine is still waiting to be replaced I do not have a repair bill yet.

ENGINE
I bought my 2015 Pilot in 2024 and since then my local mechanic has told me I am burning oil and I have had to replace several spark plugs. I have had error codes like P0304 come up in conjunction with the replacements. I now have a total engine failure. I looked online after my failure and saw the VCM Warranty Extension, but I was never notified about it. I saw where the codes could come up as "misfires" but might actually be the engine failing. Component failure - engine Safety Risk - I was driving when it died. if i had not come to a complete stop i would have hit a snow covered rocky hill. Inspections - awaiting insurance inspector, engine failure confirmed by mechanic. Warnning - no lights were on when it happened.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that upon leaving a gas station, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the engine rod bearing might be defective and referred the contact to another independent mechanic for assistance. The vehicle was taken to the second independent mechanic who confirmed that the engine rod bearing failure, and the contact was given an estimate for the repair. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
An internal failure on the front windshield camera assembly part #36160-TG7-A63 had caused the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to fail. Which in turn has caused the following systems to fail: Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, Parking Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Warning. Leaving these systems unrepaired due to a known and common hardware failure issue leads to this specific vehicle and the ones similar unsafe for the driver and occupants due to the safety systems being inoperable. The problem has been confirmed on two separate occasions by my local Honda dealer. The known issue with this specific camera assembly leads to a multitude of warning lights being displayed including: adaptive cruise control warning, lane keep assist, collision mitigation system problem, and auto high beam mitigation.

The windshield camera has malfunctioned causing 5 different safety warnings to appear and these functions are unavailable now. It has been evaluated by a dealership and they claim that it has to be replaced at a cost of $2100. This is a pretty widespread issue in these Pilots with varying mileage. I would expect much better from a Honda product.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Because the front camera has malfunctioned, all electronic warnings are permanently displayed on dash upon start of car, including Engine light and Brake system warnings. Although the camera is the only only thing that has actually failed, the warning systems are no longer available to accurately display all other malfunctions of the car which would prove dangerous should a system failure actually occur, as I would not know the difference. I have had the car in to the dealer several times to make sure the engine is in fact ok, but I cannot afford the $2000 to repair the camera just so the warning lights will go off. It is unsafe that the accuracy of the Honda Pilot's warning systems are impacted. This appears to be an issue specifially with 2019 Honda Pilots as i have found numerous reports online and social media forums with the exact same complaints.

Last year fuel pump in gas tank was fixed/recalled, fixed 2/2025, now 2/2026 the high efficiecy fuel pump in engine bay started making loud noises--no warning/codes--just loud banging noise, mechanic confirmed high efficiency fuel pump failing. search on youtube also confirms many year/models as mine having same issue

Fuel gage read incorrectly staing we had gas and estimated fuel for 70 miles. We stalled while driving. Several error lights came on, car would not start. After researching we saw alot of complaints about fuel Guage issues so we were able to get 2 gal of gas and then make it to a gas station. Took car in for diagnostic, no known problem. ????

The vehicle previously experienced a steering wheel locking issue and was taken to the dealer for repair. The dealer stated the issue was repaired on December 11, 2024. On February 24, 2026, while driving on a public street, the vehicle hesitated or jerked slightly during acceleration and then appeared to operate normally. After a few minutes, multiple warning messages suddenly appeared on the dashboard, and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn and effectively locked while I was driving. I immediately activated my hazard lights. I was unable to safely pull over because the steering wheel would not respond properly, which placed me and other drivers at risk. I had to continue driving slowly until I found a side road where I could safely stop. I turned the vehicle off. When restarting, the warning messages reappeared. After several minutes, the warning lights cleared, and the steering wheel was no longer locked but felt loose and unstable ("wobbly"). I cautiously resumed driving. After several minutes, the steering began to feel normal again. The following warnings were displayed: Hill Start Assist problem, Trailer Stability Assist problem, Hill Descent Control problem, Adaptive Cruise Control problem, Lane Keeping Assist problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System problem, Road Departure Mitigation problem, Low Speed Braking Control problem, Auto High-Beam problem, Electric Power Steering system problem – Steering Assist Not Available, and "Stop. Steering assist reduced. Stop driving when safe." The failed component appears to be the Electric Power Steering system and related driver-assistance systems. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem was previously addressed by a dealer but has reoccurred. No prior warning lights were present before this incident. The failure occurred suddenly while driving.

My Pilot only had 46,942 miles when it failed due to a camshaft thrust cover surface roughness being out of spec causing excessive camshaft movement. This was confirmed by the mechanic at Honda that worked on my Pilot. The pilot was checked for the engine light concern and the technician reported the following: CONFIRMED DTC P0369 CMP SENSOR INTERMITTENT INTERRUPTION. FOUND CMP SENSOR TO HAVE WEAR FROM TIMING GEAR DUE TO CAMSHAFT MOVING SIDE TO SIDE. RECOMMEND REPLACING CAMSHAFT, SENSOR, THRUST PLATE, THRUST CAP, TIMING GEAR AND RELATED HARDWARE TO START. $3895.00 Also recommend replacement of timing belt with tensioner $516.00 There were not warning lamp before the failure. My engine just died and had to be towed to a dealership in Canada close to where I was residing. I felt my safety was at risk because my vehicle died in the middle of the highway and that could have lead to a crash. This is a know issue with 2016-2017 Pilots and Ridgeline. I know this from the service bulletin that was issued in January of 2018. However only certain vehicle were recalled for this exact issue. I contacted America Honda motor company and a Case #XXX was open. I asked to be reimbursed for repairs of $5200.00 Canadian to which they said no. While driving my vehicle it begin making a rattling/clacking sound. The sound became more louder as we drove it home. The emissions system problems message appeared. We had a mechanic come to check it. He discovered the a rod bearing was damaged and we needed to replace a piston and other parts as well. We have been unable to drive it since due to safety issues.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Our fuel pump went out, causing us to be stranded and having to have our Honda Pilot toward 45 minutes away to the Honda dealer to have it replaced. There were no warning lights on until we were going down the highway and all of a sudden the dash warning codes were flashing like crazy. We turned our car off, then when we turned it back everything kept flashing, many warning lights at once. Honda diagnosed with Code P0098 and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. There was a recall made the week after we had ours fixed, but not for our model.
