When driving above 50mph, the steering wheel becomes sticky. It is difficult to drive the vehicles at highway speeds. Forcing to do a big jerk on the steering wheel in order to keep the car within the lines.

The car is constantly taking control while driving, I have the car for less than an hour brought it back to the dealership. The auto start and stereo was completely malfunctioning. Two days later after not driving for one brought it back and steering shaking and taking over and radio and power shut off. Had the car less than five days and in a second loaner car.

- #11580273March 31, 2024STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
There is a recall on other similar vehicles but my VIN isn’t showing as one with a recall. However, I am also experiencing “sticking” while steering. Brought the car to the dealership and received conflicting information. We were told that the tech was able to replicate the issue we stated when he test drove the car. Dealer ordered the part, which appears to be just a bolt that they stated was back ordered for 3 weeks. This was the second time we brought the car. The first time, they supposedly just took a photo of the part number to see if it was part of the recall or not and never inspected the vehicle thoroughly. We are concerned that the dealership is not doing their due diligence to ensure our safety. AJ, the service rep from Honda West said he can’t really confirm whether it’s safe to drive the car or not when I asked him what we should do until the part arrives. Then when I asked about a possible rental car because I feel unsafe driving the vehicle, he said that Honda doesn’t consider this a safety issue so they can’t provide us with a loaner or rental car, but continued to ask us if we wanted to leave the car (for 3 weeks). We are concerned that not all vehicle part numbers related to the EOS issue have been identified to be included in the recall. Hoping for some assistance.

- #11580267March 31, 2024TIRES
Tires had 17,000 miles on them and had to be “warrantied out” by the manufacturer. These tires had no grip and weren’t made for a car with sound dampening materials. I was told by the manufacturer that the reason the road noise got worse was the technologies were fighting against each other. More importantly, I experienced rapid wear. These are an 80,000 mile tire and with 17,000 miles on them I was already in the “consider replacing” time frame. Alignment was checked and good so it wasn’t due to the vehicle itself. Poor quality tire.

The vehicle has “sticky steering” at highway speeds. The steering wheel seems to get stuck on something and doesn’t move very smoothly. While it is manageable, it is a known issue that I’m not entirely sure Honda is addressing. I’d mentioned it to the dealer and they told me Honda knows it’s an issue but they don’t have a resolution so they should be putting out a bulletin saying it’s a normal part of the technology. However, it can be kind of scary at highway speeds. It doesn’t make me feel safe on the road at all times. I know there is a steering rack recall but they claim the two are not related. I have not taken my car to the dealer for them to reproduce the issue but in the civic community it is a big issue that is happening to many people. No warning lights or codes come up. It just doesn’t feel safe especially considering it happens at 60+ mph.

Steering is “sticking” or momentarily locking. Going straight then initiating a turn, the steering sticks momentarily until it finally “breaks loose”. Results in over-controlling and having to do almost S-turns while trying to keep the car straight. More apt to do so at higher speeds and the traveling faster does exacerbate the over-controlling (over-steering) conditions.

Steering becomes jerky while driving and sticks to the left and right. This is dangerous at higher speeds because it becomes tough to maintain my own lane. This is a documented problem in both 10th and 11th generation civics and has to do with the power steering. Vehicle was just inspected 3 weeks ago and passed tests and no warning lights related to issue have activated.

I was driving my 2015 Honda Civic when it stopped working. Looking at other people comments and by Hondas own admission, there were problems known with the transmission on these vehicles. Mechanics dont even want to work on the transmissions in these cars. Last Honda I buy

I have noticed for a while now. When the light turns green or I'm at a stop and I have enough time to take off the car does not move when I apply the gas. It stalls and that scares me. I have noticed my cruise control shut off the other day when driving on the freeway. And I could not turn it back on. Now when I try to apply the parking bake when I'm parked the parking brake does not turn on nor the brake hold. The lights keep flashing than turn odd My headlight in the front and back passenger don't work. I've switched out the bulbs and it's an electrical problem. I see recalls on some of these matters but honda won't do nothing because it's not on their system when I bought this car in 2016.

Purchased a brand new 2021 Honda Civic Sedan in June of 2021. When I turn the steering wheel to the left to make a turn or turn the steering wheel to the left going around a curve or just turning into a parking space the steering wheel sticks for a second and then jerks back to the right while making a popping / clicking sound. My car will not stay in a straight path while driving on the road. The Honda service department has claimed to not “duplicate” the problem, but based on my complaints, Honda services stated “it’s probably the steering rack failure ”. A problem of this magnitude should not be occurring on my Civic with only 50,981 miles. This is a serious safety problem.

2018 Honda civic has been having sticky steering. Going down highways or even city limits (45) the vehicle pulls to one side and when trying to correct the steering wheel will stick. I thought it was just in need of an alignment but the problem wasn’t solved after researching and saw the fuel pump recall I took it to Honda for the fuel pump recall and had them inspect the steering also they stated it was the electric steering rack, steering rack bearings no warning messages or lights

The power steering “sticks” and “requires slight, but manual force” to free it while driving causing the car to unexpectedly lose maneuverability. It has not been inspected yet, but it is easy to confirm as it happens almost all the time.

The steering wheel keeps jerking and it feels like the car swerves whenever it wants to. With and without the lane assist. I have stopped using lane assist and it still has the same issue.

Steering wheel "sticks." I has been doing it since around 40,000 miles. It has gotten worse with time. While driving in straight line after it warms up the steering wheel does not move when trying to make micro adjustments and then when it does it jerks and causes the driver to overcompensate. Makes driving very tiring and unsafe. It is difficult to keep the car driving straight when tis happens. I can see there have been recalls regarding this problem with newer Civics, like 22-23, but mine has been doing it and it is a 2017. Last time it happened was recently while my drive was driving and I was out of town on 3/15/24.

- #11579631March 26, 2024AIR BAGS
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a recurring issue with my vehicle's airbag system. Despite no physical damage to the vehicle and no apparent impact on the functionality of the airbag system, I am consistently receiving a "Check Airbag System" warning code. This message intermittently appears and disappears, causing significant uncertainty and raising serious safety concerns. Given the critical role of airbags in ensuring passenger safety, any inconsistency or potential malfunction in the system poses a significant risk. Even though there have been no visible signs of damage or issues, the persistent appearance of this warning message suggests an underlying problem that demands immediate attention. As a conscientious vehicle owner, I place the highest priority on the safety of myself, passengers, and fellow road users. Consequently, I implore Honda, as the manufacturer, to conduct a thorough investigation and promptly address the recurring issue with my vehicle's airbag system. Ensuring that the airbag system operates reliably and consistently is paramount to safeguarding lives in the event of an accident. Regrettably, when I approached the Honda dealership for assistance, I was informed that I would be held accountable for the cost of diagnostics and potentially the repairs. This response is unacceptable. Honda should assume responsibility for resolving a safety concern of this magnitude. I urge Honda to reconsider their stance and take decisive action to rectify this matter without imposing financial burdens on their customers. By assuming accountability and prioritizing safety above all else, Honda can uphold its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Thank you for your immediate attention to this pressing issue. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

Steering sticks, especially at highway speeds and driving slower after obtaining highway speeds. Sometimes sticking is worse than others and sometimes it can jerk the car around.

- #11579385March 25, 2024ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Car loses power when driving at highway speeds after driving for about 45 minutes. The car won’t accelerate when this happens and shows no warning signs on the dash. The only way to get the car to run right is to turn it off and wait for about 15-30 min and then start it again. Sometimes this happens 3 times in a trip and when it happens is random but always at highway speeds. This makes the car unreliable and unsafe. I see some Honda civics have a recall for this issue but mine does not. I feel mine needs included in that recall to fix the problem and make the car safe as the problem has occurred multiple times. Have brought the car to a Honda dealer and it threw no codes so they couldn’t fix anything but I have read a faulty fuel pump throws no codes.
