the driver side window components made lots of noise then the window fell down into the door causing me to need a motel and find a window repair shop as I was traveling from NY to Georgia when this happened, the resulting bills were close to $1000. yes it is available for inspection I am [XXX] was [XXX] and this $ issue is very simply a terrible burden to my life, luckily I had a credit card with me that I could use but paying that balance will be a time consuming endeavor on the little I live on financially. the component was inspected by the glass repair shop as it was being torn apart to be fixed. no warnings were provided only horrible noise from the door just before the window dropped the next time I went to use it. The last Dodge Grand caravan I owned was a 2005 and I had it 6 years with minimal expense so when I found this one, a 2010 with no power doors it was ideal for me financially or so I thought, has caused considerable problems in my financial life and now I am too scared to go back to NY with it for fear of the other windows breaking. I got a motel room because a storm was impending, called window repair shops in Chambersburg va, the second one I called said bring it over, it was the weekend before July 4th of 2025 and I was very lucky to get the help as the shop owner was leaving for a week vacay soon, they ordered the part from the nearby dealership, but it cost me $583. for the part plus repair, truly devastating. The driver's seat active headrest spontaneously deployed while my wife was operating the van. Luckily this did not cause an accident, but being hit in the back of the head by the headrest certainly can cause an accident in the future. Inspection shows the internal plastic latch mechanism broken, thus the spontaneous, unintentional deployment of the active headrest.

Passenger front seat headrest deployed while vehicle was parked. The plastic housing supporting a small metal bar broke causing it to open. I had no idea this could happen when I bought the car. I have kept this van longer than any I have owned as my Chrysler dealer closed and the van is no longer made! A new one form Chrysler is about $6-800! I was able to find a lightly used replacement headrest on Ebay and using a youtube video swapped it out myself. I have since learned Chrysler extended the warrantee 10 years, but my car is older than that. It only has about 65,500 miles on it. I am going to try and zip-tie the driver's side headrest so I do not get it in the back of the head when driving!! I presume the passenger side will remain intact for a while.

Dear FCA 06/30/2025 As a dodge owner I have to tell you about my situation, I’m a 2016 Dodge Caravan Owner and love the van, love the stow and go seating and both sides sliding doors and the room. We bought this van because our other vehicles didn’t fit all our grandkids in, so it’s our 3rd vehicle for that use. It was used gingerly and kept in our garage. Well maintained “all oil change, tires and brake record’s” as well as any recalls! and recommended services when recommended like the 2023 tranny flush and filter. Which we had to hunt for a dealership that did .We never had any symptoms or warning lights with the exception of low tire light. In late January 2025 we transferred ownership to my son and daughter in law who just welcomed another baby, boy number 4, so you can imagine they needed the room. At this time the van was around 76,000 for mileage. My daughter in law still on maternity leave takes the boys to the movies in April,2025 comes out and the Van won’t move! Mileage 80,686! This is just crazy and she has to get it towed and guess what they say the transmission is no good and here we are $6000.00 later. I have since talked with several mechanics and FB people who have been in this very situation with Dodge products, Dodge has transmission issues! I have contacted Dodge no response! And the FCA no response! Please respond with what else I can do to further push for some kind of investigation into this! Driving on expressway with cruise control engaged, approx 76 mph. Cruise control would not disengage by braking, canceling or turning off system. I was able to brake with the cruise fighting to accelerate the vehicle. The brakes were smoking and smelled burning during the incident. Drove approx 1/4 - 1/2 mile braking like this in order to safely get over to the right lane and exit the expressway. I did not try to use neutral because I needed the power to keep speed to safely change lanes in heavy traffice to get out of the middle lane on expressway. Was able to shift to park and turn car off. When restarted to tow vehicle the cruise system was still engaged but it was only put in neutral (not drive) to get vehicle on the tow truck. Towed to dealership. No report back yet from dealership. So terrifying!!!

Went to open up driver side sliding door and it would not slide back. It is stuck due to the locking actuator. This can be dangerous. I have kids in my van and the door not sliding back can present different dangerous issues for different scenarios. The 2016-2017 dodge grand caravan I believe has a recall on this issue but not the 20q8, and I dont know why.

The headrest on the driver seat ejected while I was driving. The headrest is unable to go back into the correct position. It looks as if a plastic piece has failed inside the headrest. No accident occurred when the headrest failed. The drivers neck was hurt during the incident. Driver almost lost control of the vehicle

Driving along and suddenly van didn’t go into gear….towed and was confirmed there is a transmission issue….when checked for recalls about this issue, I was told my vehicle ID number doesn’t match the recall however no one can tell me why if there was a recall on this particular make and model and Year BUT my VIN is not included. I have been unsuccessful in ANY resolve or answers since March of this year ! Very disappointed and unsatisfied with the way I have not been able to get ANY help. I am [XXX] with very limited knowledge of the mechanical portion of this process. I would truly appreciate any further assistance you can offer. Beginning at about 75,000 miles (1st lock actuator), my lock actuators seized and rendered the backseat passenger doors unusable. The second lock actuator on the passenger side followed at about 95,000 miles. This is extremely unsafe, because if I have my children as passengers, they must climb in through the back hatch of the minivan. In addition, passengers cannot exit the vehicle from their seats in case of a wreck. Dodge has issued an extended warranty recently, but I am not eligible because my vehicle is now over 100,000 miles. (It was under 100,000 miles at the time of malfunction, but there was no extended warranty or recall at the time.) This common issue with the Dodge Grand Caravan is extremely unsafe, and all defective lock actuators should be replaced/repaired as part of a recall. A warranty that excludes certain users is unsafe.
