BMW technicians will determine if the 2024 BMW 530i taillamp condensation is a normal occurrence or a defect. Condensation can arise from two main situations:

1. Normal Thermal/Environmental Conditions: If the moisture is caused by typical environmental factors, it is not considered a defect. Taillamps are designed to dissipate this type of condensation through venting. This process should typically complete within 24 hours if the vehicle is in temperatures between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Water/Moisture in Taillamp Housing: If the moisture is due to water ingress into the taillamp housing, this is considered a defect.

If the taillamps do not dry out or vent within the specified 24-hour timeframe, a further inspection for leaks or damage will be performed.

Important Warnings

Owners should be aware of specific conditions related to this issue:

• If moisture in the taillamps is determined to be caused by normal environmental conditions, no correction is needed by the dealership.
• Damage or issues resulting from outside influences are not covered under the BMW limited warranties.

Repair Procedure Summary
