I want Toyota to expand their engine recalls to 2023+ models. The issue with their engine remains with 2023+ models and it is a huge safety risk to allow a 6000lb truck to run on highways with the risk of the engine turning off and potentially crashing.

took in truck for limited service campaign. Toyota understood toe angle sett premature wear on outside shoulders of the tires. Authorized toyota dealer adjusted front wheel ali based on toyota s inspection criteria, replaced two tires and completed alignment. Alignment failed to resolve problem. After 10k miles similar wear is present. Reached out to dealership and they declined further assistance.

STRUCTURE:BODY
The hood design of the 3rd generation toyota tundra causes SEVERE solar glare back into the cab and this is a known issue. While I could site many instances of it casing a problem, the most recent scenario caused me to nearly run a stop sign and hit a pedestrian. The glare is so blinding it’s impossible to drive without holding your hand up to block it. Countless tundra owners have complained about this but because it hasn’t been cited as a safety issue, Toyota isn’t responsible. This is requiring owners to put black decals on their hoods or add tint strips to the BOTTOM of the windshield to block it. I have sensitive eyes, so my windshield and windows are already tinted and it doesn’t touch this. MAKE TOYOTA FIX THIS! I have not had my specific situation investigated simply because it was already such a known problem. I’m voicing my concerns so ALL Tundra owners can drive safely. They charge a mortgage for these things and I’m scared to drive it at certain times of the day. Cameras can’t capture it the same but the pictures show it fairly well. My hand got HOT holding it this way.

Bought the truck from BILL LUKE MARANA was told there were no major safety issues with recalls and that the only recall was debris in engine that didn't have a fix yet.... drove the car from dealership to home, upon arriving home my wife smelled gas, i thought it was cleaning fluid smell or something. drove the truck to circle k smelled gas but though it was circle k . drove the truck once more to pick up an employee so i could drop him off to drive home the car i left at the dealer . During this drive the smell of gas became undeniable . Upon arrival home the truck was parked my employee ( who had been driving behind in a different car) jumped out and said the truck was spraying gas . My daughter exited the passenger side of the vehicle and was misted with gasoline. we subsequently found a fuel line was shooting out gasoline. I called bill Luke and told them to tow the truck back they said they couldn't so i was put in a position of having to drive the car back to the dealership. I was in fear of my life if driving this car so I was forced to pay a tow truck to return the truck to bill Luke. After speaking with bill Luke management I was told there are 2 major recalls with the vehicle first debris in the engine that can cause engine failure while driving and second a problem where the fuel line rubs against the brake drum or pad and can chafe to the point of leaking. The second recall issue is the one that put us in danger. I understand that recalls happen but I am under the impression that dealerships have a paramount responsibility to make sure the cars they sell are safe and have complied with major safety recalls. I don't believe this was done at Bill Luke Marana . I believe Bill Luke Marana put me and everyone on the road in danger to sell a car. Please address this monumental failure will ALL bill Luke sales offices and service centers to prevent unnecessary death or suffering in the future.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure of the front main bearing in the engine because of metal debris and contamination. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be partially rebuilt. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 29,000.

The contact then observed that the tailgate of the vehicle was open and had struck the garage door. The contact closed the tailgate, and the tailgate remained closed. On another occasion, after entering the garage, the tailgate inadvertently opened overnight while parked. The tailgate was then closed and remained closed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. AIR BAGS
The contact owned a 2025 Toyota Tundra SR5. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle crash. The contact's vehicle was between the other two vehicles. The contact's vehicle was crashed into from the front and the rear. The air bags did not deploy. The air bag malfunction warning light was displayed. The contact's four children were occupants of the vehicle. In addition, the contact's adult daughter occupied the front passenger's seat. The contact stated that the Toyota Connect Safety connected and communicated with the contact regarding the crash. The contact sustained injuries to the right wrist and hand, a mild concussion, and pain in both legs. The contact received medical treatment the following day and is awaiting scheduling for physical therapy. The contact stated that the four children sustained minor pains from the crash; however did not receive medical treatment. In addition, the contact stated that the two adult children are now feared for driving because of the crash. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned as a total loss. A Police report was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,061.

POWER TRAIN
There is an occasional lag between when I press the accelerator to when the engine actually revs up. It's usually fairly minor at less than 1 second but today I was making a left turn on a busy road and the lag time was closer to 2-3 seconds and almost caused me to get T boned by two cars coming from my left. It happens from still and from slight rolling. Today I was completely stopped. I hit the gas and all it gave me was enough to roll me into oncoming traffic and then I was stuck in their lanes until it finally kicked in and carried me on through the turn. Apparently this is a known issue with a TSB for 22 and 23 year models. This is extremely dangerous and should warrant a recall before someone gets killed.

The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while the tailgate was closing automatically, her grandson's finger was at the upper closing point of the tailgate; however, the tailgate continued to close. The contact's husband put his body weight on the tailgate and was able to stop the tailgate from closing. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact put her hand at the upper closing point of the tailgate while the tailgate was closing automatically, and the tailgate stopped closing as designed. The dealer informed the contact that they could not fix the tailgate failure to stop closing when a smaller hand or object was within the closing point. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 1,300.

I’ve notice that when coming to a stop or yield when you press the gas pedal to go or continue driving there’s a lag or delay. This has happened more than 4-5 times since I purchased the truck on December 23, 2024. The last time it happened was last Saturday August 9, 2025. Truck was on sport mode, Auto Stop/Start was off. I’m at a light waiting to make a right turn, when I pressed the gas pedal to go it went forward and felt like I slammed the brakes. I had to take my foot off the gas pedal, brake, then gas it up again to go. It is a little scary because this could cause an accident. I’ve taken my truck to the dealership about this, but they said they can’t do anything about it because they cannot recreate the issue.

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle started shaking abnormally as if the vehicle was being driven over rough road surfaces. The contact started to decelerate, and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine and the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that there were metal debris inside the engine, causing the engine to fail. The dealer stated that the engine needed to be rebuilt or replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but failed to return the phone call. The failure mileage was 24,323.

I am the original owner of a brand new 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, and this issue began within the first 15,000 miles of regular dealer-maintained use. At approximately 14,800 miles, I noticed unusual and rapid outer shoulder wear on all four OEM Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 285/65R18 tires. A professional alignment inspection performed by Toyota Carlsbad dealership confirmed that the factory-set front toe angle was significantly out of Toyota’s specification (left front toe: +0.30°, right front: +0.10°, total front toe: +0.39°). This incorrect alignment was present from the factory and caused tire damage before any corrections were made. These settings match exactly what is described in Toyota Limited Service Campaign 24TD01, which applies to 2022–2023 Tundra models. However, my 2024 vehicle is not included, even though the defect and symptoms are identical. The alignment defect was confirmed and corrected by the dealership, but Toyota refused to replace the damaged tires, stating it is not a warrantable condition. However, this wear was directly caused by the misalignment on a new, factory-spec vehicle, maintained per Toyota guidelines. This condition presents a clear safety risk, as premature outer tire wear significantly reduces traction, affects handling, and increases stopping distance—especially in wet or emergency conditions. There were no warning lights or messages, making the condition undetectable until visible tire damage occurred. I filed a formal complaint with Toyota USA, but they declined further assistance. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether Toyota should expand Campaign 24TD01 to include 2024 models with the same alignment-related defect. The tires are available for inspection. I have supporting documentation including alignment reports, photos of tire wear, and communications with Toyota regarding this case #.

I was driving down the [XXX] at 70 mph when suddenly the engine just went dead. There was no PRIOR warning as the orange engine symbol came on the dash at exactly the same time as the engine died. There were other warning symbols that came on the dash also at the same time. I then had to maneuver in heavy traffic without power steering or power brake at 70 mph to the side of the road which was very difficult and I felt very unsafe. It was frightening to say the least. I called the closest Toyota Dealership located in Bristol, Tn and they sent a tow truck to pick it up and take to their shop. I am now waiting for them to determine the extent of the damage. To be clear we have documentation of every required maintenance done. This truck is about 1 1/2 yrs old with only 68,000 miles on it! Upon starting the vehicle on 8/6/2025 i received multiple warnings: advanced ultrasonic detecting and ranging system malfunction, Pre-Collision system malfunction, Parking Brake system malfunction, Check engine ECM malfunction, Vehicle stability control system malfunction Secondary collison brake system malfunction, It now take almost a mile on level ground to reach 45 mph. This occurred without warning. the vehicle was ok the day before when I parked it.

I continue to get this message on my dash while driving and no one in front, on side or behind my vehicle: *Foreign Object Speed Acceleration reduced. *Radio Know broke a second time *windows stutter when going up or down while wet *windows rattle *poor acceleration at take off ( very dangerous on the expressway)
