The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard a grinding sound coming from the steering wheel. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact then stated that the steering wheel electrical functions started to malfunction. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clockspring needed to be replaced. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V835000 (Power Train) he became aware that the replacement dipstick was 15-inches long instead the previous 44-inches in length. Additionally, the dipstick stated that it was not intended to check the transmission fluid level. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact to take the vehicle to dealer to have the fluid level checked. The contact was not provided information for the change in the dipstick. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

While driving at 25mph in 4H, I heard what sounded like television static instead of the music I'd been playing with Carplay. Moments later my dashboard indicators flashed wildly and randomly. Within a few seconds, smoke was billowing out of the hood and fire was visible in the engine bay. The entire vehicle eventually burned down.

Went in on July 2022 to trade in my 2017 dodge was looking at the 2500 2022 was told 2 times it was a big horn. Wasn't was a tradesman. After so many times in shop I went over to sales in December to find out what to do so many safety issues. They called it a lemon and trade for exact same one make model year. Had 6 people helping us and they did it as a trade in. Lost my 30,000 trade in and made to pay off lemon. They sold it when no it is legally ours since we had to pay it off. New one is in shop with so many problems and lied to

The brakes fail to work when applied. When depressing the brake pedal it sticks half way and requires continued pressing and release of the pedal before locking the disc. During the process the vehicle propels forward, creating a safety hazard that could result a serious accident and death. The malfunction occurs at low and high speeds.

I was notified of the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor not being installed in the exhaust aftertreatment system of my vehicle on a post delivery survey I received. The dealership's service department has no idea about this sensor not being installed by the factory, and the response from the letter stated there would be a recall soon to have the PM sensor installed, but that has not happened over a year later. The ECU will need an update once the sensor is installed, which would allow the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) gauge to function. This poses a risk to unknown regeneration occurrences, which could lead to a fire if the vehicle is parked next to dry grass or other flammable material. It also poses a significant risk for exhaust system emissions component failure in the future. The sensors and software update need to be completed as soon as possible.

The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to slow as needed, causing the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The contacted stated that the driver of the other vehicle sustained unknown injuries while the contact sustained neck and back injury. The contact stated that there was no police report filed. POWER TRAIN
RAM 2500 was driven and parked on an incline. Driver shifted truck from drive to park which was verified by knob showing vehicle was in park. After turning vehicle off and exiting vehicle, vehicle began rolling down the hill unattended, with engine off, while in park. Vehicle rolled down hill with engine off in park and nearly collided into house with people in it. Furthermore, there was extreme risk of injury or death trying to jump into moving truck and hit the brakes causing it to stop.Issue could harm or kill someone. Driver then attempted to simulate the issue twice and successfully recorded video on phone. Driver repeatedly parked RAM truck on incline, shifted vehicle from drive to park, and lifted foot off brake pedal and vehicle began rolling down hill until brake was depressed. Vehicle was unable to be parked on hill without emergency brake being deployed or vehicle risked rolling down the hill. Owner has video footage of truck rolling down hill in park. Vehicle is scheduled to be inspected by RAM service center on March 2, 2023.

A high percentage of Ram owners with the 6.7 Cummins Engine are removing the Grid Heater due to a weak bolt that, over time becomes weak and falls down into the intake of the engine. The bolt will go directly into the engine block and cause catastrophic damage. There is an aftermarket fix which is a heater element installed into the intake horn itself instead of directly on top of the flat intake surface.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the warning message "Service Sway Bar" was displayed along with an audible alarm. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the sway bar was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sway bar was replaced, and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,500.

When driving down the road at speeds above 50 mph. The hood will ripple when a CDL style vehicle goes by. When I purchased the vehicle. I had to take it to Fletcher Dodge in Jonesboro AR, to have the nuts that bolt the hood to the raising bracket tightened because they where loose and center latch adjusted. The hood still ripples enough to think its going to come open.
