Had this Mazda CX30 as a rental car for about a week. Was pulling into the driveway, hit the brakes, and the vehicle took off full speed causing a crash. The engine was revving at max and the vehicle was accelerating as if the gas pedal was floored. No matter what pedal I hit the car just kept going until the crash and being shut off.

WHEELS
Rear wheel bearings failed at approximately 30,000 miles and were replaced by Mazda under warrantee. The same rear wheel bearings failed at approximately 72,000 miles and are available for inspection. Dealer has confirmed bad wheel bearings on both occasions. The potential for wheel bearing failure incudes loss of control of the vehicle while in motion. Dealer has bearing available for inspection. The only warning is increasing noise as the bearing wear.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The contact owns a 2021 Mazda CX-30. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was slightly depressed; however, the vehicle speed increased significantly independently. The contact stated that the failure occurred as the contact arrived at the contact's residence and was attempting to park the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed; however the vehicle failed to stop, and the vehicle was uncontrollable. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into the contact’s apartment building. The contact stated that the building siding and steps were damaged due to the failure. The contact was not injured; however the failure had caused serious anxiety issues for the contact. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer two times prior to the failure because, when attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact was informed that the vehicle's not starting was the result of a faulty battery, and the battery was replaced. In addition, the contact stated that the independent acceleration failure had occurred the day before the crash occurred; however the contact was planning to take the vehicle to the dealer the following day. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While coasting slowly through a parking lot at approximately 5-8mph I tapped the brake to slow further while making a tight turn and to safely pass a vehicle also turning towards me. This caused the car to lurch and accelerate as though my foot was on the gas pedal, but it wasn't. I had to step hard on the brake to bring it under control.

I am a victim of identity theft, and it appears a vehicle may have been fraudulently registered or associated with my personal information. I have no connection to the vehicle being recalled and have reported this identity theft to the FTC, local police, and the California DMV. I am submitting this report to request that my personal information be removed from any vehicle records associated with this recall. I’m attaching supporting documents, including my identity theft FTC reports, police report, DMV reports Please advise on next steps to ensure my information is not used in connection with any unauthorized vehicles.

I have received a recall notice back in June 5th. I tried to reach my dealer (Douglas Mazda) couple of times but they are not fixing it. As it has been announced that, it is not available. The vehicle is under warranty. PLease suggest me what steps I should take? As it is not not safe drive in any highway.

At around 26,528 miles my 2022 CX-30 2.5s (not the turbo) developed a "Low Oil Pressure" warning while driving between 55-65mph on 07/06/2025. The car has had regular oil and filter changes about every 5K miles. The last oil and filter change was at 25,259 mileage on 05/25/2025. There aren't any visible oil leaks. I have read that this is a common problem for other Mazda CX-30 years 2021- 2022.

On [XXX] autoNation Mazda Arapahoe in Colorado sold me a car for my sign at 2024 CX 30 premium. They said there was an open recall that they needed to fix and we’re keeping the car overnight on June 6, 2025. They deliver the vehicle to my son around noon and around 6 PM on June 6. They contacted my son and said they shouldn’t have sold the vehicle to him and needed the vehicle back. This is my son‘s first vehicle and it’s not a good experience and the dealership should never have sold that car to us knowing that there was not a fix. They were well aware of this on May 29. SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On April 15th, 2025, my 2022 Mazda CX-30 experienced a sudden malfunction while I was driving. Despite having the automatic emergency braking system and forward collision warning, the car failed to slow down or alert me before I hit another vehicle during a pile-up. Right after the collision, my dashboard lit up with multiple error messages about the forward collision system, brake system, and sensor malfunctions. I had the car towed to the dealership, where a full diagnostic scan was performed. It revealed multiple hard fault codes, including U0415 (Invalid Data Received from ABS Control Module), which I later found was listed in a recent Mazda recall (23V-487) affecting my exact safety system—but Mazda told me my VIN was not included. The vehicle was inspected by a certified Mazda dealership. Mazda has refused to take full responsibility despite the safety system failing and the car still being under warranty. My safety was put at direct risk because the brake system did not function when it should have, causing a wreck that could have been avoided.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
There is a recall that doesn't include my car. In March before my service due date I got several critical notices on the dash) I-Activsense System malfunction, IActivsense advanced safey and driver support system not operating correctly, Have vehicle inspected. 2) Braking System Malfunction, Stop the vehicle in a safe place, 3)Safety and Driver Support Systems Partially Disabled 4) Vehicle Satus Monitor Serious Malfunction (1) Brake System Malfunction, Vehicle Warning Messages 1..IActivsense System Malfunction next service, which was in 4k miles. This with 19,700 miles on the car (bought with less then 5k on it). I pulled off the road and ate and got back in and all lights gone however 3/7, 3/18, 3/21, 3/22 it all came on again but was gone on arrival to dealership. I had brake fluid checked and it was almost empty, unusual and I know if it leaks and gets wet it corrodes discs, and that is the recall and that is what happened. So far no satisfaction from Mazda other than me paying to have it fixed including a complete brake system flush which should NOT be due till about 50k. I know CX 30 was recalled for this issue, they missed mine. Last service invoice In August says brakes are good, all fluids topped off, yet brake fluid was almost empty and corrision is not even front to rear, salt air is the same on both sides of my car. And why and where is the fluid? I had a third party check it before going in for service (he didn't touch because I'm under warranty but is experienced person in business) .. I will upload Aug and April service invoices. iNVOICE AT 15,374 miles states brakes are good and all fluids topped off, SO in 7 months brakes are destroyed fluid is empty at 19,687 miles. What happened if it wasn't recall problem? Warranty? I believe it should have been in recall.

Wife was driving 2024 Mazda CX-30 with (bought demo from dealer in February with 2500 miles on it and now 4006 miles) daughter ([XXX]) in passenger seat. Airbag deployed with no warning or malfunction lights or alerts prior. Knocked my daughter across the vehicle, startled and traumatized both of them. They were able to safely pull into a shopping center parking lot. Got vehicle towed to the dealer, John Kennedy Mazda in Pottstown PA. Called police--have report and pictures to document. Wife also has videos and pictures. The dealer provided us a loaner vehicle. Next day the service manager, Gary Daniels calls. I ask if he has ever seen this before. "I think I know what caused it. There was a bubble in the right front passenger tire." I responded that I saw how this was going and told him I will be in touch. Dealer not covering it under warranty and said "call our 800 # and your insurance." Called 800 line and talked to Giselle, our case manager who said this would be "escalated" and we would hear back in 48 hours. Of course, we did not hear back. Finally, after 2 voicemails and contacting Mazda USA via chat, they call back and say call insurance, it will not be covered under warranty. When I ask for what the escalation was, the rep said "well the dealer said there was a bubble in the tire." Complete runaround. I go to the dealer to return the loaner car and they provide me a watered down and inaccurate report saying the bubble was existing. Insurance has provided an estimate to repair the car for just under $5000. I am not comfortable having the dealer repair the car or any family member drive that car once repaired. Airbag malfunction warning lights everywhere post deployment. No warnings before and ridiculous claim that a bubble in a tire could cause an airbag to deploy. Considering the repair but also legal action as zero empathy by the dealer and no accountability of fixing what seems to be a similar issue in New Hampshire with the same model car 2 years ago. I have a brand new Mazda CX-30 with less than 10k miles. I was not made aware of the seat material being highly flamible. Luckily I nor my kids were in the car when the seat caught fire due to a magnifying effect. Magnifying Effect (Sunlight): If a clear glass or plastic object (like a water bottle, eyeglasses, or even a certain type of air freshener) was left on the seat in direct sunlight, it could have acted as a lens, focusing the sun's rays onto a small area of the seat material. Over time, this concentrated heat could become intense enough to ignite the fabric, especially if it's dry and flammable. This is more likely to happen on a hot, sunny day. I brought this up with the dealership and their reply was to contact Mazda! YOU are Mazda!

While driving at approximately 20 mph on a residential road during slushy conditions, the side curtain airbags deployed without warning. There was no collision, no impact, and no indication of a rollover or crash. A police officer arrived and completed a report, which noted no crash had occurred. The airbag deployment caused damage throughout the vehicle, and the car has since been declared a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer initially delayed responding for over two weeks. When they did respond, they claimed the airbags deployed properly based on “connected data” indicating a possible rollover. However, they refused to provide any proof of this data, any Event Data Recorder (EDR) data, or any technical explanation of what triggered the deployment. No warning lights or messages were displayed before the deployment. The local dealership that had the vehicle inspected the physical damage but did not confirm a rollover or any significant structural event. Mazda has refused to release their investigation data and instead closed the case without transparency. This deployment caused significant damage and created safety and financial risk. I am concerned that this incident may reflect a larger issue in airbag deployment logic that other owners may also face.

Others are at risk and below details how my safety was compromised. Powerlift gate/ trunk closed on my head and did not stop. It knocked me onto the ground and opened up a bloody gash on my head. Went to emergency room in the hospital to have them treat me with my head injury as I was bleeding with a head wound laceration. They sealed the wound with glue as it was in my hairline and gave aspirin for the head pain. There should be a safety feature on the power liftgate that alerts it if person or object is in the way. Other brands of vehicles have this safety feature. It is liability and there is concern for others of this happening that could potentially result in death. My injury has not fully healed as I know have recurring headaches and there will be a large scar left on my head. The vehicle is available for inspection.

On February 18, 2024, at approximately 12:00 PM, while driving at 20 mph in slushy but clear conditions, my 2023 Mazda CX-30’s curtain airbags deployed unexpectedly despite no significant collision occurring. •What system failed? oThe curtain airbag system deployed improperly without a crash, severe impact, or rollover. oThe Event Data Recorder (EDR) should contain critical information on why the airbags deployed, but Mazda has refused to release this data. •How was safety put at risk? oThe airbags deployed while the vehicle was moving, which could have startled the driver and caused a crash. oThe deployment caused unnecessary damage to the vehicle, increasing repair costs. •Has the problem been confirmed or inspected? oPolice Report: No major collision documented. oInsurance Review: Travelers Insurance inspected the vehicle and found minimal external damage—most damage was due to the airbag deployment itself. oMazda Dealership Response: Tulley Mazda refused to retrieve EDR data, stating that Mazda considers it "proprietary." •Has the manufacturer responded? oI have been put on hold for hours, denied access to a case manager, and have received no meaningful response. oMazda appears to be refusing to investigate why the airbags deployed and will not provide any technical explanation. •Were there any warnings or error messages? oNo warning lights, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the event. oThe curtain airbags deployed without any indication of an impending crash. Why this is a safety issue: If my Mazda CX-30’s airbags deployed unexpectedly at 20 mph, this could happen to other Mazda vehicles at higher speeds, creating a dangerous situation for drivers and passengers.
