While driving from [XXX] to [XXX], the vehicle experienced two sudden loss-of-propulsion events at highway speed. During the first incident in downtown [XXX], cruise control disengaged, the transmission abruptly downshifted, and the accelerator became largely unresponsive. The vehicle rapidly lost speed in traffic, and another vehicle nearly rear-ended me because I could not maintain speed or accelerate. The engine remained running, but the vehicle appeared to enter reduced-power or limp mode. I pulled over, shut the vehicle off, and restarted it. Normal throttle operation temporarily returned. The check-engine light and “Stop/Start Not Available” warning remained illuminated. After approximately three hours of otherwise normal driving, I activated cruise control again. The same condition immediately returned: cruise disengaged, the transmission downshifted, throttle response was lost, and the vehicle rapidly decelerated. Restarting again restored normal operation. This unexpected loss of propulsion created a serious collision risk because the vehicle abruptly slowed in moving highway traffic without allowing me to accelerate out of danger. The problem appears directly associated with cruise-control activation, although the exact mechanical or electronic cause is unknown. The vehicle has approximately 40,300 miles, was purchased as Jeep Certified Pre-Owned, and had a new OEM battery installed by an authorized Jeep dealership shortly after purchase. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate similar reports involving sudden throttle loss, abrupt downshifting, reduced-power operation, or loss of propulsion at highway speeds. Subject: Safety Complaint – 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Fuel Pump Failure (Loss of power while driving.) I am filing this complaint regarding a 2021 Jeep Wrangler equipped with the 2.0L engine due to what I believe is a significant safety issue involving the fuel pump. The fuel pump has failed, making the vehicle unsafe and/or inoperable. A sudden fuel pump failure can cause the engine to lose power or stall without warning, creating a serious safety hazard, especially when driving at highway speeds, in heavy traffic, or while crossing intersections. A loss of engine power in these situations places both the driver and surrounding motorists at risk of a crash. What is equally concerning is that the replacement fuel pump is currently on a national backorder, with my dealership estimating approximately 45 days or longer before the part will be available. This suggests that many owners may be experiencing the same problem and that replacement parts cannot keep up with demand. As a result, my vehicle is unusable while I wait for a critical safety-related component. This creates a significant financial and personal hardship, including transportation difficulties, missed work, and additional expenses. A safety-related component should not be unavailable for such an extended period if this issue is affecting numerous vehicles. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether fuel pump failures in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L represent a widespread safety defect. If a pattern is identified, I urge NHTSA to require Stellantis to issue a recall or other appropriate corrective action to protect vehicle owners and the public. Thank you for your consideration of this complaint.

While driving in Electric Mode this morning, my Jeep experienced a loss of motive power in traffic. When the power loss occurred, I pressed the accelerator, and nothing happened. Moments later, I got a warning telling me Electric Mode Unavailable. Then, a couple moments later again, the gasoline engine started and the vehicle surged ahead nearly causing a collision. Since the 68C Recall was performed the vehicle randomly and unexpectedly experiences this phenomenon. The vehicle was previously left at the dealer to repair this defect. No repair was made. The dealer stated that it drives normal but also stated that power loss is now forced by software after the 68C Recall Software Update and it is now normal to lose electrical motive power in order to keep the battery from getting hot. The danger is that this happens unexpectedly in the past, and happened unexpectedly again, causing traffic around me to take action. It is important to note that this phenomenon occurred today and generally occurs usually below 45-50% Hybrid Battery Charge.

how this vehicle has not been recalled is hard to comprehend how can no one care about safety ? I purchased (8/24)this vehicle used from Carvana. Since then I have had issues first the jeep death wobble (google it we’ll know to keep general public and i am certain you) When the vehicle reaches speeds over 55mph it shakes uncontrollably feels like vehicle is going to fall into pieces on the road hard to control immediately must slow down. The vehicle then has had countless battery recalls and still no fix. I am a mailman I work very hard for my money. I was hoping to save money with gas by plugging in vehicle but because of warnings from jeep I am unable to do that. The vehicle has so many known issues the price has plummeted. The vehicle because of this no one will take on trade or cannot be sold. How a company can get away with this is hard to understand please restore my confidence for consumers please

Vehicle received federal recall 01A service (high pressure fuel pump replacement) at an authorized Chrysler/Jeep dealership on 05/14/2026 at 97,055 miles. I drove the vehicle normally for approximately two weeks (roughly 950 miles), then parked it in my garage awaiting a separate warranty part for the intake manifold. On 07/03/2026, during that warranty repair at the same dealership at approximately 98,000 miles, the dealership’s own technician discovered a diesel fuel leak at the fuel injector supply tube. This line must be disturbed to access and replace the high pressure fuel pump during the recall procedure and is a single-use component. No fuel leak or fuel system issue existed or was documented before the recall service; the vehicle was scanned at the same dealership at intake and the only issue found was an intake manifold valve actuation code unrelated to the fuel system. The leak was confirmed by the dealership and the component is available for inspection; I have requested the removed part be returned to me. Safety risk: the vehicle was driven on public roads for roughly 950 miles while, unknown to me, a fuel line disturbed during recall service was developing a leak. Pressurized diesel leaking in the engine compartment is a fire and roadway hazard. The dealership is charging me for the part and labor rather than covering it under the recall remedy, which provides for replacement of additional fuel system components as necessary free of charge. My concern is an improperly performed or incomplete recall remedy resulting in a fuel leak.

I leased this vehicle in April 2023. I have only put 23,000 miles on it and have only had it serviced by the dealership. Months after the start of my lease I experienced the Jeep Death Wobble at speeds in excess of 70 mph with my newborn son in the car. Never having even heard of it, I am extremely lucky that I maintained composure and did not crash. I took the car to the dealership who claimed they repaired in accordingly under my warranty. Since then the death wobble has returned 3 additional times for a total of 4 times in 3 years (the most recent being 6 months ago) with again only 23,000 miles on the car. Each time I have taken the car to the dealership and they have claimed to have repaired the issue. For the past 3 years, I have been plagued with sheer anxiety every time my vehicle goes over 55 mph, never knowing when the wobble will return but always assuming correctly that it will and it has. This is a known issue that I believe has not been able to be directly attributed to crashed because the outcome relies significantly on the drivers reaction to the problem. Had I not remained calm or made any sudden movements with my car each time that this happened, it easily could have been 4 crashes. Multiply that by how many people I know who have or are experiencing this issue and its crazy that Jeep is allowed to continue operating like this.

I am filing this safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Altitude. The vehicle is experiencing a fuel gauge/fuel reading malfunction. The gauge does not accurately reflect the amount of fuel in the vehicle, which creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may run out of fuel unexpectedly while being operated on public roads. This defect places me and other drivers at risk, especially if the vehicle stalls in traffic, on a highway, or in an unsafe location. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential safety defect.

The 12-volt auxiliary battery and related electrical system in my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid (leased new 8/25/2025) repeatedly fail. The battery completely discharges after the vehicle sits plugged into a standard home charger, undisturbed, for several consecutive days, leaving the vehicle completely inoperable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently at a dealership. Failures to date (5): 11/05/2025: found dead after charging; required jump start. No warning lamps or messages precede the discharge events; the vehicle is simply dead when approached. 01/26/2026: dead after charging; would not jump start; towed. Dealer replaced the 12V battery and performed recall 68C software. 04/27/2026: check engine light illuminated while driving and the vehicle became stuck in electric mode; it would not switch to hybrid, gas, or E-save despite attempts, and a restart did not resolve it; towed. Dealer could not reproduce the fault. 05/17/2026: dead after charging; towed. 12V battery replaced a second time (same part number) and media hub replaced; vehicle was dead again at dealer pickup. 06/13/2026: dead after charging (plugged in undisturbed 6/9 to 6/13); towed. Tow operator noted the rear tires dragged during loading. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: dealers have observed and documented the dead-battery condition multiple times, including a vehicle dead at pickup, but no dealer has reproduced the underlying failure or confirmed a root cause across five repair visits and approximately 56 cumulative days out of service as of 7/6/2026. The manufacturer's customer care team is engaged; it suspects a parasitic electrical draw, and the dealer is awaiting specialized test equipment. No police or insurance inspection. Safety risk: inability to leave electric mode while driving with the check engine light active; repeated complete electrical failures stranding occupants; an undiagnosed electrical draw in a plug-in hybrid that charges overnigh

On 2/2/26 I took my vehicle to Thomson Motor Company to have the 68c recall repair completed. On 2/5/26 my car wouldn’t start and I was stranded. My vehicle was towed back to the same repair facility. On 2/6/26 they told me that my regular battery died and had to be replaced. After researching when the hybrid battery is re-coded/reprogrammed from the recall, it causes the regular battery to die due to and system overload to the regular battery. The dealer wouldn’t take responsibility or Jeep wouldn’t take responsibility. The dealer wanted to charge me $500 so I had the local Auto Zone replace the regular battery with a new battery for $238.00. I sent in a copy of the slip from the dealership to show what they had recommended and submitted a copy of the credit card receipt to Jeep and they are refusing to cover the replacement. I would not have had to replace the regular battery if the 68c recall didn’t cause my regular battery to die due to the overload. From my understanding they should have been replaced at the same time to keep this from happening. I want to be reimbursed for replacing the battery, for the cost of the tow and for the diagnostic at Thomson Motor Center.

I am writing regarding my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [XXX]), which has been out of service since January 2026 as a direct result of a manufacturer safety recall involving the high-voltage battery (Safety Recall 68C). The vehicle became inoperable because of this recall-related issue and has remained at the dealership ever since. Since that time, Aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and Stellantis engineering have made extraordinary efforts to repair the vehicle. According to your own service records, the following components have been replaced or repaired: The original high-voltage battery A first replacement high-voltage battery that proved to be defective A second replacement high-voltage battery The Power Integrated Module (PIM) The high-voltage wiring harness Multiple engineering diagnostic sessions involving Stellantis Field Technical Representatives and engineering personnel Despite months of repairs and repeated involvement by Stellantis engineering, the vehicle has still not been restored to normal operating condition. My oil plug fell out of my jeep. Within minutes all of the oil had splattered underneath and the back of the jeep. The oil lamp went on in my jeep. From the time the oil warning came on to the seizure of the engine was a couple minutes. The jeep went into protection mode or would not allow me to go over 25 minutes. I saw the engine light come on and went straight to Mobil1, the closest place to get oil and they explained there was oil everywhere and no oil plug. I always got oil changes at the jeep dealership and they were the last to service. They were about to close so i tried to get an oil change. There also had been a slow leak in my driveway that i thought was just coolent but after taking a closer look, I believe it was an oil leak.

On XXX at approximately 1002am, [XXX] was on the exit ramp from [XXX] northbound to [XXX]. At the end of the ramp, she stopped and tried to make a left turn onto [XXX] northbound. The vehicle was still in Electric mode (plenty of battery life remaining). The Jeep crawled through the intersection, with the accelerator all the way to the floor. [XXX] feared that she would be struck by oncoming traffic. The gas motor did not activate until sometime after she cleared the intersection. At that point there was a message on the dashboard "Electric Mode Unavailable". The Jeep switched itself to Hybrid mode. For the next two miles the Jeep ran utilizing the gasoline engine. The Jeep traveled erratically. It would slightly speed up and then slightly slow down. It was unable to maintain a constant speed. After two miles [XXX] stopped at a red light. The gasoline motor shut off. When the light turned green, she was able to easily travel the next mile home utilizing battery power only. On XXX at approximately 1000am, [XXX] was driving the Jeep on [XXX] at a speed of 72mph. The vehicle was in E-Save mode and had 16 miles of battery life remaining. [XXX] switched over to Electric mode and slowly began to lose speed. She put the accelerator all the way to the floor, but the gas motor did not activate. The Jeep dropped slowly down to 62mph where it leveled off. Shortly thereafter she exited the highway, so she was able to come off the accelerator. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX]) Complaint Description: My vehicle is currently under active NHTSA Recalls 25V-766 and 26V-363. Following the 25V-766 software flash designed to detect internal engine bearing failure, the vehicle has experienced a sudden, unrecoverable loss of propulsion (Limp Mode) on the highway at 60 mph on three to four separate occasions. This has nearly resulted in high-speed rear-end collisions, making the vehicle incredibly dangerous for my family. The vehicle is currently grounded at Criswell Jeep in Maryland. Despite the vehicle experiencing the exact catastrophic failure outlined in 25V-766, Stellantis corporate and the local dealership are refusing to authorize the mandated engine block replacement. The dealership claims their local technicians cannot physically replicate the failure and do not know how to extract the historical freeze-frame data from the vehicle's computer. Instead of dispatching a Stellantis Field Technical Specialist to pull the internal Uconnect logs—which Jeep Cares corporate admitted on a recorded line is the required next step if the local tech cannot duplicate the issue—the dealership has put over 150+ unnecessary test-drive miles on the vehicle and consumed half a tank of gas trying to blindly trigger the failure. Conducting 150 miles of highway test driving on a vehicle with a documented history of suddenly losing propulsion while it simultaneously has an active, unpatched fire risk (26V-363 "Park Outside" advisory) is a severe safety liability. Furthermore, Jeep Cares explicitly refused to reimburse me for the gas and mileage, stating this excessive driving is just part of their diagnosis and quality control. The manufacturer is negligently failing to execute a federal safety recall by refusing to utilize proper engineering diagnostic tools, leaving INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

With the current recall on a specific part for the Jeep Wrangler, there is currently no resolution to the problem. I worry that my vehicle with catch on fire or catch nearby vehicles on fire. I live in Georgia and the temperature has been very high this summer. I cannot ensure my vehicle is parked away from others since I live in a high populated city. I would prefer some remedy for this situation.
