I began to notice some occasional loss of the steering with violent shakes - the death wobble - and once in the rain down a street with potholes which seemed to agitate the car further. I made an appointment to get the car checked and took it into the dealership. At that time, the tech mentioned that there was a recall out - which I had seen in the mail before - and asked if I wanted to get the update - I said yes. I believe the “Check Engine” was also blinking at that time so I also asked them to check that. After that, the vehicle was in the shop for 2 weeks without a clear diagnosis before the tech reached out and told me the car was “inoperable”. After communicating with the engineers and getting support from management, the car was still inoperable for over 2 months. At that point the tech asked me to contact Chrysler to file a claim to help him make sure it kept moving. (Please note that I found this bizarre and I hope any reasonable person in a similar situation would as well. 😨) A few days later, they told me the car was ready for me to pick up! I do not have a technical background and do not fully understand the issue, but the tech told me there was an issue with the vehicle sensor software which clashed with the recall and caused the vehicle to stop responding. As a fix, they uninstalled the sensor software and then reinstalled it after the recall update. Any future software update may cause the vehicle to crash and considering there is a third recall on this issue so far with out a proper fix, it is highly probably that there will be subsequent recalls/updates which will crash the car. At that time, I will have no recourse.

Subsequent to the 68C recall software update, my vehicle is suffering from intermittent loss of acceleration. Even with a full charge of battery, when driving the 2025 jeep wrangler 4xe in EV mode, occasionally the car will shut of EV mode and transition to gas/hybrid mode. The problem is the vehicle changes from EV mode to gas/hybrid it can take 10 seconds. In the meantime there is no ability to accelerate. The pedal is dead. It occurred 4 times in random places. Once on a regular country road, Once straining on a steep hill Once merging with traffic on the highway The last time I drove it was when I lost acceleration while making a left hand turn on a busy intersection. It would have been a head on collision if the other driver hadn't slammed on their breaks. This was my last time with the vehicle and it has been sitting at the dealership since January. The dealership service department tells me Stellantis is not working on a fix for this issue, even though it is a serious safety defect. Since then I have been pursuing lemon law however this process is taking forever. They refused to provide a loaner car. I was renting a vehicle but it was too costly. I ultimately had to buy another vehicle, even thought I spent $70,000 on a brand new jeep that is sitting at a dealership. They claim no fault found. The dealership drove it a total of 10 miles in EV mode. No fault found. They are putting people in danger and making us QA test while they push out software updates that aren't tested in the real world. This vehicle is trying to kill me. It will either explode and burn down the house or cause a collision. They need to make this right. Please help.

I have had several instances of the infotainment system freezing up after starting the Jeep and putting it into reverse. When this happens, the radio sound is replaced with a buzzing noise and the rear camera image becomes frozen. None of the radio controls work and putting the vehicle into Park doesn't have any impact. The only resolution is to push and hold the power button until the system resets. This defeats the purpose of having a rear camera while reversing and puts the failure at the worst possible time (while backing up).

Yesterday evening we were driving and the orange check engine light came on. Followed by a red battery light, the red turtle and an exclamation point with a car and a speedometer symbol. It would not let me switch to electric e-save and kept me in hybrid mode. Regenerative braking would not work either. Once safely parked it was making a loud high pitched whining noise. It would also drop RPMs while idling and then they would rev up quickly. Once the tow truck arrived he tried to drive it up on the flat bed but it had no power to make it up the ramp and had to be pulled with the tow cable up the ramp. Another thing I have noticed as of the last 68c update is that when in electric mode and merging onto a freeway for example, it gets really sluggish at about 65mph and the gas engine won't kick in like it used to before the update. It doesn't go above 65 and slows down to about 62 even if my foot is pedal to the floor before ice kicks in. Makes it pretty dangerous to be merging with traffic going 70+.

The primary component involved is the high-voltage charging system, specifically the charging port and connector interface. The vehicle previously experienced a confirmed failure involving a scorched charging port and a melted pin, which required replacement. The same symptoms have since returned, including heat at the charging interface and a burning odor. The vehicle is currently located at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a safety risk due to the potential for electrical overheating and possible fire hazard. In addition, the vehicle has experienced repeated loss of power while driving, which creates a risk in traffic conditions and could impact driver control and safety. The issue has been previously confirmed by the dealership, which replaced the charging port due to thermal damage. However, upon recurrence of similar symptoms, the dealership has refused to diagnose or service the vehicle, preventing further confirmation at this time. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on multiple occasions for related issues, including the prior charging system failure. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle but has been contacted for assistance. Prior to the charging system failure, symptoms included heat at the charging connector and a burning odor. The vehicle has also exhibited electrical system irregularities and repeated loss of power while driving beginning after recall-related service in or around August 2024.

Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership.

- #11735274May 2, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
I have had a brake problem since September 2025. The symptom is a hard brake pedal that does not stop the vehicle at low speeds. There is a similar problem with other Wrangler models that do have a recall issued. It was related to a software update around the same time my problem started. I have had it back to the dealer (Hoover CDJR in Summerville, SC) at least 3 times. At the last visit, they said that they acknowledge there is an issue but Stellantis does not know root cause or have a repair. The problem does not cause a diagnostic code. Not being able to stop reliably in low speed situations include dangers in parking lots, my driveway, stop signs and lights. I have been lucky that I have not made contact with another vehicle or pedestrian yet but it has been close a few times. I fear it is a matter of time before the luck runs out.

The vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler 4xe with approximately 43,000 miles experiencing a recurring electrical system malfunction involving the Body Control Module (BCM) and LIN communication network. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. The failure involves multiple electrical circuits and communication loss between modules, confirmed by dealership diagnostic codes including BCM B1642-15, B1646-15, B16D7-15, B16DF-15, and U1123-00 (lost communication with LIN ECU). This condition presents a safety risk due to intermittent stalling/shutdown while driving, electrical system instability, and failure of critical systems including exterior lighting and HVAC. These issues create unpredictable vehicle operation and reduced safety for occupants and others on the road. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership over at least four separate service visits, for which documentation is available. Despite repeated repair attempts, the condition has not been resolved and the same faults continue to return. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by the dealership. The manufacturer, Stellantis, has been contacted but has declined further escalation or engineering review, citing warranty expiration. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, have repeatedly appeared prior to and immediately after service visits. Additional symptoms include intermittent heater failure while driving, system-wide electrical malfunctions, and abnormal noises. This is an ongoing, unresolved electrical system failure involving repeated unsuccessful repair attempts and presents a continuing safety concern.

On 12/17/2025, my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (VIN [XXX] , 15,871 miles) experienced violent front-end oscillation — known as "death wobble" — while my daughter was driving on the highway at approximately 50–55 mph after encountering a road imperfection. The steering wheel and front suspension shook violently side-to-side. Vehicle control was significantly impaired and she had to slow substantially to stop the oscillation. Video of the incident is attached. The vehicle is completely stock: OEM suspension, tires, and wheels, no lift, no aftermarket modifications. I took it the same day to Safford Brown Jeep, an authorized Jeep dealer. They diagnosed the issue and replaced the front suspension steering damper. Repair cost $800 out of pocket. The dealer called it out of warranty because the 3-year basic warranty had elapsed, despite the vehicle having only 15,871 miles — well under the 36,000-mile warranty limit. A safety-critical steering defect at this mileage on a fully stock vehicle is consistent with a manufacturing or design defect, not wear or modification. This is a known, dangerous defect in Jeep solid-front-axle vehicles. NHTSA has received hundreds of complaints on prior Wrangler model years, and Stellantis (FCA) entered a 2023 class-action settlement covering 2018–2020 Wranglers and 2020 Gladiators with an 8-year/90,000-mile steering damper warranty extension. The 2022 model year was excluded despite exhibiting the same defect. I am filing this complaint to document that the issue persists in post-2020 Wranglers and request NHTSA evaluate whether a safety defect determination and recall is warranted for 2021+ model years. No crash, fire, or injuries — but loss of steering control at highway speed is a serious crash risk, especially with a young driver behind the wheel. With the recent completion of recalls 68&78c , and a new HV battery, APPEARS TO ME, thatJeep has changed the software for the throttle response when in electric mode. The result creates a safety hazard as you lose pedal response and power when the battery reaches below 35% or about 9 miles remaining. On the highway the jeep loses all power and will not accelerate over 62 mph. And the same around town when you need that extra umph, the pedal becomes dead. More Scary when you’re on the highway!! The result? Since the electric power output is unavailable, you have to mash the pedal to the flow to kick it out of electric mode. But this is also unsafe as now you start the engine (often cold as I was running electric mode) and you smash the rpm’s over 6k to launch the gas engine (That can’t be good for the engine long term) . Before battery replacement and recall software updates, this process was very smooth and occurred with 5% or less battery life. This had occurred a few times and could probably reproduce it when this scenario is present

Q1: The steering and front suspension system malfunctioned. The vehicle experiences a severe “death wobble,” violent and uncontrolled shaking/oscillation of the steering wheel and front end after hitting bumps or uneven pavement, especially at higher speeds. The suspected affected components may include the steering linkage, track bar, steering damper/stabilizer, ball joints, tie rods, control arms, bushings, alignment/caster, or other front suspension/steering components. Q2: The defect causes violent steering wheel and front-end shaking while driving, creating a loss of stable steering control. When the wobble occurs, the vehicle becomes difficult to control and I have to slow down significantly to regain control. This creates a serious risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds, in traffic, on curves, or if another driver is nearby. The first time it happened I was on the highway near two tractor trailers who recognized the issue and slow down for me too. The condition puts me, my passengers, other motorists, pedestrians, and anyone near the roadway at risk because the vehicle can suddenly become unstable after normal road bumps or pavement irregularities. Q3: The problem has been brought to an local mechanic 3 times for repair or diagnosis, but the issue has not been resolved. The vehicle continues to experience the same severe steering/front-end wobble after those repair attempts. As of this complaint, the issue has not yet been formally diagnosed or resolved by an authorized Jeep dealer. I am filing this complaint because the condition remains unresolved and I believe it is a serious safety defect. Q4: The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by an local mechanic on 3 occasions related to this issue. The Healy dealership fixed the last recall right before this. I called them on the way home from the dealership when it first happened. Q4: There were no warning lamps or dashboard message before the wobble occurred. Became more aggressive in Jan 2026.

I was traveling in the right lane on I-75 at approximately 70 miles an hour, and my Wrangler completely lost all power and began to suddenly decelerate in traffic. I lost all acceleration ability, power brakes, and power steering. I immediately had to change lanes and exit the highway onto the shoulder while trying to avoid other vehicles all while struggling to steer and brake.

I am the lessee of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe currently subject to the active manufacturer recall involving engine contamination that may cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and sudden unrecoverable loss of propulsion. This recall presents a substantial safety concern for continued daily operation of the vehicle. I am concerned for my personal safety and the safety of my passengers due to the manufacturer’s acknowledgment that this defect can occur without warning. In addition to the safety risk, this unresolved defect has substantially reduced the value and marketability of the leased vehicle while I remain contractually obligated to continue high monthly lease payments through May 2027. I am filing this complaint due to serious concern regarding the safety, diminished value, and continued financial burden associated with this unrepaired manufacturer defect.

On 04/24/26 my 2022 Jeep 4xe with out any warning exploded in my driveway endangering my family and people in my neighborhood. Police and Fire were call and the vehicle was extinguished. No injuries occurred to anyone but toxic gas and exploding glass were blast through the neighborhood. If anyone had been any where around the car they would have been seriously injured. The fire department initial assessment was that the EV battery exploded. The battery on my Jeep was replaced along with other recall parts previously by our local jeep dealership. The Jeep was charged approximately 20min before explosion occurred but was unplugged at the time of explosion. My insurance company has possession of the vehicle at this time conducting its investigation. Video was captured of the incident from 2 different cameras. I am submitting this to hopefully make other 4xe owners aware of the situation even after we thought our recalls were taken care of. Please contact for further information.

I was driving 70-75 mph on interstate XXX going south from [XXX] to [XXX] after picking up my friends. I had e-save mode on to save the battery for later and out of nowhere the car lost all power and would not accelerate. Some writing flashed across the screen telling me to pull over in the emergency lane and stop and then restart the Jeep in hybrid mode. I had to throw on my hazards and pray someone who wasn't paying attention didn't hit me while I was no longer accelerating and trying to change lanes to get into the emergency lane. One in the emergency lane I was able to shut off the Jeep and restart it but e-save mode was no longer available. I was able to resume driving but only in Hybrid mode.
